I even said on my messages that I understand if they were short staffed, but please let me know ASAP if you can or can't accommodate us. The last call I made was around 6 pm on Friday night (July 28, 2022. Someone did answer this time and told me he would check my reservation and call be back within a few minutes and let me know if they had availability. Well, that never happened. What business or establishment, especially restaurants, never return calls to confirm a reservation and leave a message. It's obvious that don't need or want more business. We have never been to Renzo's or The Speak Easy before. And we've lived here for almost 26 years. So we thought we'd enjoy giving this a try. The reviews are really good for this restaurant. But not for me. It's their loss for not responding to a potential gain of atleast a couple of hundred dollars that could have been made if we had gotten a return call. Get it together Renzo's. Hopefully, for your sake this was rare instance that unfortunately you lost out this time. But it only takes one bad review for someone to think twice about visiting your establishment. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect.
