Marie did such an amazing job making my dress fit like a glove! She was attentive to my concerns and made sure to address each one. It was super easy to schedule appointments as needed. And my guests were OBSESSED with the bustle!

Marie was amazing. I was in a time crunch and she was able to alter the dress of my dreams. She is so kind and we just talked the whole time and it was so memorable. I got her contact from a bridal boutique I bought my dress from Lovely Bride and they raved about her.

Marie does absolutely amazing work! She's so much fun to work with and when you have to go in for fittings, it's so important to find someone you have good rapport with. My dress fit perfectly after she worked on it and I just love the way she did my bustle.

Marie was AMAZING!!! Hands down the best thing about my wedding (besides marrying my husband of course) was my dress!!!!!! I bought a dress off Amazon for $100 and she made it a DREAM! She hemmed it (which had a lot of layers), added detachable sleeves, added material to the bust for less cleavage, and added bones. And she is so sweet!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Marie, she is a magician and worth every single penny! Photos by Katie Jackson Photography

Marie is a genius. We had less than two months until the wedding when I came to and she was able to do three fittings with me. The alterations I needed required her to delicately remove the mesh panel from the boning and she did so and artfully replaced it and got my dress to fit like a glove. She also shortened the dress and bustled it - helping me select the correct bustle for the look of my dress and teaching me how to do it. She was such a sweet person and I loved working with her. Be warned, she has LOTS of clients, so you may be trying on your dress as someone else is hopping out of hers. Also be aware that this type of handiwork is not cheap! However, I felt stunning on my wedding day and it was in huge part thanks to Marie.

Marie helped tailor my wedding dress from BHLDN as well as a qipao from etsy. She is so kind and informative. I felt so comfortable working with her through this dress tailoring process. She's very knowledgable helping me talk out different ideas I had and her giving her honest opinion as well as supportive. I had an amazing time working with her and I felt that her prices were extremely reasonable for the amount of care and effort she puts into making you feel amazing on your big day. Her professionalism as well as friendliness is what I think of most whenever I think of her :)

Marie is an angel and I wish I was getting married again just so I could spend more time with her and see what miracles she would work on my next dress. I came to Marie after deciding to get a different wedding dress with less than 3 months until the I dos and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a tailor. Marie made time for me when she had none, she treated me like an immediate friend and most importantly her incredible skills made me super confident in wearing the dress that she tailored perfectly. I was so happy with the end product and Marie worked tirelessly to get it done perfectly and on time. Can't recommend her enough

Blurry - but you can see the bustle in this one a little bit. 5 pickups on the first layer, 3 in the middle, and 1 on the inside.

Marie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING when it came to fixing my dress. There was a horrible snafu somewhere else and it arrived damaged from the manufacturer, and then the original company gave me the run around for replacing it, so when I finally was able to start alterations it was only 6 weeks before the wedding. Marie got me in for an appointment, and assured me should could finish everything in time. She was so confident and clear in her explanations of what was important, what was optional, etc. Her appointments are different from other places - she pins in sections, so my appointments were bust/sides, then hem, then bustle. She made my dress fit like PERFECTION, and did such an excellent job with my bustle. I was most afraid of how the bustle would look because I've had friends have terrible ones, but there was no need for my concern. Marie KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING. During the final appointment, she definitely OVER explains the bustle - be patient; I promise this is necessary. Even though my wedding was only a week later, there were still a few ?? moments during buttoning. Just let her talk and soak it in - you'll need the extra walk through day of, I promise! Thank you again Marie for making my dress fit PERFECTLY!!!!!!

Marie is an angel. She worked with me to make a ton of alterations on my dress. She's absolutely lovely to work with and exudes positive energy. Mt dress could not be more perfect- it hugs all the right curves. Highly recommend :)

I worked with Marie to get some alterations done to my wedding gown in 2019. She really knew how to fit the dress to my body and really made it look beautiful while adding a few elements of modesty to my gown, while helping me stay within my budget for my wedding gown. I will recommend her and and again to anyone who asks.

Hi there! Can you make a custom marigold/yellow mustard satin dress?

Same question as Natalia - phone number says mailbox is full. No option of email or a website... how can we make appointments? L

One reviewer said her eyes bugged out at the price, but that comparatively, these were good prices. Can someone give me a price range for what they paid here? Thanks!

I shared some inspiration pics before my first appointment and Sherri immediately knew what I was looking for and pulled great options for me to try. I quickly found my top choice and came back a few days later to make the purchase. Sherri was very knowledgeable about every dress in her shop and supported me every step of the decision. I felt so confident saying yes to the dress here! This is a hidden gem tucked away in Sawtelle. It's not pretentious but rather a casual and relaxed atmosphere with fairly priced dresses and accessories. I also love that they do alterations in house. Will come back to share pics after I get married in 2027 if I remember!

Only 15 of my 200+…read morereviews are 1 star, so I don't choose that ranking lightly, especially for a small local business. We booked an appointment 4 or 5 days ahead of time, as there was full availability on the calendar for weekdays. There is a 48 hour cancellation window, and at hour 47 we realized that the timing conflicted slightly with a work matter (when we made the appointment we were in New York and miscalculated the time difference). An email was sent at the 47th hour (1 hour after the window), mentioning the issue and asking if it could still be canceled since it was so close to the window, and apologizing for missing the window. The owner replied and specifically said "No problem, we've gone ahead and canceled the appointment for you". At this point, we figured all was well as they made no mention of still charging the fee. A few weeks later, we noticed the charge was still there. A quick email reply came when we inquired saying it was past their window and no refund was due. IF this was the case, why did the original email not say so and why did they make 0 effort to reschedule or ask if another time worked better? OR we could have made it work if she hadn't responded so positively. What a slimy way to make a quick $27 for nothing. I will restate that the calendar was still really really open (ie, it was not a highly sough after appointment slot taken from anyone else even on the off chance they were booking in the 2-4 days out window). Overall, it is a blessing the appointment didn't happen after reading some of these reviews about how the owner acts in person (no surprise there). Ended up with a beautiful dress from Berta and would highly recommend their new LA showroom on Beverly.

Even though I had an appointment, she took another client at the same time and kept going back and forth between us. It was frustrating because her attention wasn't fully on my dress and she seemed distracted. We had agreed on a pickup date and confirmed the time, but when I arrived, the bustle hadn't even been done. I was asked to wait about 30 minutes while it was completed, which was disappointing given that I had a scheduled pickup. When I tried on the dress, it was still too loose and didn't fit properly, which I believe was due to the lack of attention during my first appointment. I was then told to leave the dress again so it could be fixed. When I picked up the dress for the second time, I had concerns about how poorly the bustle was done--and unfortunately those concerns were justified. On my wedding day, the bustle came undone immediately. I didn't even get a chance to use it. A large portion of the night was spent with my mom trying to pin up my dress, and at one point she even pricked herself, getting blood on it. After the wedding, I emailed the owner about the issue and received no response. When I later called to request a refund for the poorly done bustle, I was told they couldn't provide one, only that I could bring the dress back to have it redone. While I appreciate the offer, it doesn't help now that the wedding has already passed and I don't plan to wear the dress ever again. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and careless, especially for something as important as a wedding dress. I don't think it's fair to have paid for work that wasn't done correctly, particularly considering the stress it caused on such an important day.

It was a lacey mermaid dress with a lot of details, and they priced in the tailoring of it (an initial attempt and also a final touch) and the pricing still came out to be quite amazing. They also offer rental of jewelries and veil, although the selection was quite small and I also don't have my ears pierced which didn't help. When I went to return the veil, the owner noticed a slit on the veil, which was honestly probably my fault and she asked for me to purchase it for $30. I wish I knew how fragile these things were otherwise I would've taken extra extra precautions, a note here for anyone who's reading this review. But all in all, the experience was more than awesome, would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a wedding gown.

They are…read moreexcellent at keeping their online shop updated for what they have in-store with pictures and sizes of the gowns. Their selection of designers is truly amazing. I can't speak to their online portion of the business, with the shipping and try-on-at-home or the selling process, but I can absolutely recommend that if you're looking to buy a wedding dress in SoCal, it's worth it to visit this place in person! It was just me and my mom (someone whose opinion I value but who also trusts that I can make my own decisions), but I think they allow up to four people to come with you. (Choose wisely lol). They also have great tips on their site, and the ones I felt were super helpful were 1- go to a regular bridal salon first to get a feel for the things you like and don't like, 2- size up one or two sizes from what your street clothes normally are, 3- preview their selection online and come prepared if there's something you specifically want to try on. They also send you a questionnaire when you book the appointment asking how you want to feel in your wedding dress on the day of -- which was a really useful question to answer, just for myself lol but I'm sure it helps them pick out some options that might align! Desiree was amazing!! She immediately understood my vision. She was an incredible resource for all of my nerdy material questions, and my questions about the consignment process, what would and wouldn't be possible in alterations, travel tips for transporting the dress, storing the dress, post-ceremony cleaning, etc. It's also bananas how much she knew about the history of some of my dress picks re: the original bride's alterations, off the top of her head! (Or maybe it's written down in their system haha that's probably more likely, but if it was from memory, freakin' kudos!). Apparently, Desiree had worked at the designer of one of my top pick dresses so she also had the lowdown of the business from that perspective as well! I also didn't feel pressured at all, which was so important for me--not just for wedding dress shopping but for all of the choices we've been making for the wedding. It's a small thing, but something I greatly appreciated. The absolute most useful advice Desiree had was about the alterations process and even pricing. She made the caveat that different people would have a range of prices, but for what I was looking for, she would be shocked if I had to pay over X amount. I went to five different alteration places to get quotes, and three of them quoted me pretty much the exact number Desiree had suggested, and two of them tried to upsell me on things I didn't need and charge me three times as much! Obviously, I went with one of the seamstresses that quoted me that starting price, and I was so grateful that Desiree knew her stuff because my people-pleaser self might have just accepted the pricier alterations place without questioning it. I found the gown of my dreams at Loved Twice Bridal, from my top pick designer (Galia Lahav!) at significantly off the retail/custom order price. I received excellent service from an extremely knowledgeable resource. And I made a choice that aligned with my sustainable values. I'm so, so happy with how it all worked out! I just picked it up after alterations (Connie Tao Designs in Pasadena) and I cannot wait to wear this dress on my wedding day! Obviously, my choice of husband is the best choice I've made for my wedding haha, but choosing the dress I did, from this shop - it was a pretty darn good choice for me. Best of luck in your search!!

Service 2/5 Selection 3/5…read more Honestly I had a very disappointing experience on my birthday here. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk (Desiree) didn't greet us despite us being the only party to enter. It wasn't until I introduced my name that she then introduced herself. She also made it a point to say "you brought the 'whhhole crew' with you today. Which I was confused about because I had 4 guests which was within the allowed guest count. It was a very uncomfortable encounter. Nonetheless, I brushed it off as I was excited to try on wedding gowns for my November 2025 event. While selecting dresses, I asked Desiree if she could please add one of the gowns to the rack for me to try on. Her response was "but is it actually in your budget?" Woah--did she just Pretty Woman me? When I asked if that was a requirement to try on dresses, she responded no, but since it's a consignment shop they have to be mindful of how many times a dress is worn and they want guests to be intentional about selections. Okay--understandable but set that expectation from the beginning or it sounds extremely judgmental without context. The selection was quite limited as other people mentioned. That said I found a dress with potential and put it on hold. Ultimately I changed my mind about the purchase because I couldn't justify supporting a shop with that type of customer service. I thankfully ended up finding my dream dress elsewhere and ironically it was well over my original budget. But when I tried it on and loved it--I figured it's worth the price. From the glowing reviews I truly hope I'm an anomaly, but I had to share my experience as I hope this behavior from staff can be improved in the future. For many of us, this experience is supposed to be exciting and when we are paying for the experience to try on dresses I think at minimum staff should try to *at least* fake politeness for the one hour we have booked.

My idea of the perfect wedding dress changed as I got older. In my twenties, unfazed and emotional…read morebaggage-free, I thought about the fairy tale gown, complete with cathedral train to match a full-blown Filipino Catholic wedding. This was the gown that my talented Mother should have sewn for me. That dream was squashed when she passed away. And as an 'older bride', I wanted something simple and elegant. I called the Hanna Hartnell boutique, only to discover that bridal salons in the Bay Area do not carry her dresses. But they do have a "mail-order bride" program. I spoke to the designer herself, Hanna, who explained the process: With a $50 charge, three sample designs in sizes close to your basic measurements are sent to you. If you decide on purchasing a gown, the $50 deposit is credited against your account. Such a novel idea - trying on gowns in the comfort of your own home -- free of the hard sell, not competing for mirror space and sales assistant attention. I invited my assorted coterie of fashion consultants - Aunties, my sister, friends and cousins. I sashayed in my Dad's living room in three styles: Firebird, Peacock and Phoenix. Hanna's styles are glamourous, simple and sexy. I selected the Peacock dress - for its retro-glamour and its versatility for a beach wedding and for my wedding celebration -- a party weeks after our intimate ceremony. Despite the body skimming bias cut fit, the thigh-high side slit and the bare back -- this was surprisingly the dress I needed to work out the least for! And, when I asked my Aunties which dress Mom would have liked, all signs pointed to the Peacock. I loved the personal attention that I received from Hanna herself. I received several phone calls and e-mails from Hanna to know my style and status on the dress. What other salons could I have spoken to the designer? I'm not a celebrity, so Vera Wang or Monique Lhullier won't be talking to me. Two other bonuses: no alteration fees as the gown was made to my measurements that I faxed to her. It fit perfect. And although I was quoted about 4 months based on the general schedule, my gown was delivered in a month. When I placed the order for my gown, I got choked up. I wished Mom was the one to create my gown. I do think that Mom is very pleased that I selected a dress that wasn't mass manufactured but designed and sewn by artists like herself.
