My exhaust on my GTO was in bad shape and I had read many good reviews of this place. So I took it into get redone and the owner Steve worked on making me entirely new piping himself. Cool. $200 and a couple hours wait time later I was good to go. Price wasn't bad either. At least it was that way for less then 30 days. Unfortunately, little did I know this would be the start of a very bad job in the first place. I was hearing really bad squeaks coming from the back area of the vehicle. I finally raised up the car and took a look at what was squeaking. Let alone behold the piping was banging the tunnel area next to the rear subframe. I brought it back to him and told him to bend it out of the way and the way I was treated they acted like it was my fault and that I bent the piping somehow by hitting it. The rear of the car is not lowered and I never went scraped or bent the piping going over ANYTHING. There were also some other areas that were left leaking and they did an absolute ridiculous job welding it. He welded up a open area to my X-pipe and left a clamp on there instead of taking it off, he just left it on there and now is welded, never able to be removed again. What I also happened to find was that this guy welded my mufflers way too far out and now the distance between the two hanger brackets on both sides (frame to muffler distance) were too far out. The mufflers are impossible to take off when working on the car and protrude out way too far out from the bumper and looked like god damn side steps for a truck. Now the rubber isolators which keep the mufflers held onto the frame are all torn up from riding on the metal retainers for them. I brought this to their attention when I brought it in and they said they would take care of it. I get my vehicle back after waiting some hours and they bent my piping out of the way to avoid the metal to metal contact but never took care of my mufflers out of sheer laziness. I call them some time later and let them know they never took care of it and now I am supposedly out of warranty, but "they'll give me a great deal on their $150/ hour rate to fix them." That's cool, you guys have caused me nothing but grief and the issue has only gotten worse over time, as well as only caused damage to my exhaust system, yet you fail to do the right thing and correct your own fuck ups when told about them. Now what kind of fantastic customer service is this? Needless to say I'll never come back to these guys again and take my business to Broadway Muffler as recommended by Hector S. The service and work done here was a joke. The only thing that was clean was the paperwork (how convenient) the guys weld job, and the shop itself. My advice (mind you I work on cars day in and day out myself and am a certified smog technician as well) stay far away from this shop, they clearly have no respect for other gearheads, place all blame on you, and choose to give you the runaround when issues arise, which is highly unprofessional. read more

The folks at West Coast Muffler are outstanding. I have been here several times for various auto repairs, and never once for anything relating to my muffler. I wouldn't let their name steer you away. I have had some A/C issues repaired here, and once for a smog related repair. The people are polite and friendly. The rates are reasonable, and have always been better than prices quoted from the dealerships. They have always been proactive about advising me on all costs before doing any work, and they have identified other concerns and brought them to my attention. In fact, on that last point, they are simply informative, but never pushy like other shops. They are very fast and efficient; I am always impressed with how they get parts on the same day, or worst-case, next day. I trust these guys and will continue to have them service my vehicles. Awesome shop and awesome service. I brought my 2007 Toyota Tacoma in for a muffler switch-out and he had it done in 45 minutes and even threw in some beautiful piping from the cat back. Two days later i had a leak and brought it in at 8:00 am to find out someone tried to steal my cat's. He fixed the issue in 5 minutes and had me on my way for free. Great service! These guys are awesome. Had an exhaust leak. Googled them on Google Maps and found them close to where I worked. Saw that they had 5 out of 5 and took it as "that's good enough for me, what can go wrong". Called them up and had set an appointment for Saturday only to find out that my flex pipe later that day blew out. I called them up and asked if I could move the appointment up and drop off the car. Had no issue dropping it off early than when they can get to it. They called me up with options when I only thought there was only one option. Linda was nice enough to call me everyday to keep me informed on what is going on. Had a couple of hiccups with getting a part for them to fix my car. They had to postpone my car longer than expected but luckily had my parents willing to let me borrow there car for the time being. So what ended up having to happen was that it ended up being fixed on the Saturday, the original day, due to some delays. 1, having limited access to the part needed. 2, delay in getting part. 3, finding out that the catalytic converter was bad and the only option I had was to replace the catalytic converter. Pricey but they were nice enough to find me an aftermarket one that was way lower price from an OEM catalytic converter. They had my car ready Saturday like they said they would. Talked to Steve the owner a very great and nice guy. Got my car and couldn't be any happier. So overall why didn't I take a star off for all the delays? Cause none of it was there fault. Truck from part dealer broke down in transit. There already booked schedule trying to work my car into the schedule. Finding out it was worst than expected and needed to be replaced instead. The most valuable thing to me was that they informed me on everything. Kept me in the loop. I know plenty of places in general that I have to call them to see what the progress is. Steve was also nice enough to inform me that he had painted my rusty muffler black and added a nice chrome tip on the muffler. Really appreciated and was super stoked he had done that. It was 4:30 pm yesterday, November 21st, 2016, after having a great supper with my pregnant wife and kids, i decided to stop at west coast because i have a major exhaust leak. I stood outside and looked around, no one attended me, so i went inside, was attended with no interest of having work done to my car. Let me repeat myself that my pregnant wife was in the car with my two kids in the car in the cold. I spoke to the lady in the front desk, and she refused service to me, stating she could not check my vehicle because it was dark already, in the most rude way while also leaving me with my words in my mouth. I read all of the reviews and was impressed. I drove all the way from south san francisco to come to their shop as i have 3 projects i am working on for up coming events, they seriously missed out on thounsands of dollars. One of the projects is a 98 grand Cherokee laredo, which has a swap ls3 and opened headers. Im a big car guy, and trust me; i will let my buddies know about this horrible experience. Im disappointed in this waste of money and time. Will not recommend to any one, they dont even deserve to recieve a single star. read more

I had a supercharger, new high performance disk brakes retrofitted, high performance exhaust, a suspension lift, bushings, swaybars and computer programming done to my Chevy truck almost 10 years ago and everything is perfect! I have had them take care of jobs ranging from full exhaust system replacement to an electrical short, to diagnosing and inspection. Steve "the owner" is a great guy. He is always willing to help with any problem I have with my cars. He has talked things out with me and even told me how to do some things myself to save money. i would really rather rate this place with a big zero.took my classic car there many years ago (1996) for a brake adjustment.after they pulled the tires off they told me that i needed new brakes all around with a price quote of over $700. i knew they were wrong because i knew the brakes were done right before i bought the car,and i had the receipt to prove it.anyway i took it to another shop in walnut creek and they said everything looked good and charged me a little over $100 to adjust my brakes.i will never go to west coast muffler for anything. read more

I went here twice for Muffler delete. once i got an exhaust for my mustang and another time for my new car and both times I was dissappointed. He put on some cheap exhaust systems which sounds exactly like fart. I have seen way better work does not matter what the car is but I have a made huge mistake going the second time. The sound on exhaust is consistant and got no fun in it. If he knows you then good for you if he does not know you then he will definetly rip you off. I would not recommend this place at all! Only reason I went there because they had a good review and why not! but not only once been disappointed but twice! For a muffler shop they should listen to you and give you wide variety of options but they will put some cheap matterial and do it the way they want it. Honestly waste of my money both times! Took my E350 van here. It has an action van suspension lift on it and I took it here for an alignment because 2 other places wouldn't take it. After 3 attempts they got it dialed.
