Four-wine Sangria is absolutely delicious, especially on such a hot day.

What a wonderful surprise inside the Sawmill Market. It gave us a place to sit and relax away from the crowd. The Wine Menu is fairly expansive and the prices are excellent. (We do a lot of wine tasting around the country and sometimes overseas.) My husband started with a glass of a French Pinot Grigio that was inexpensive but terrific; great nose, dry. There were three Pinot Noirs on today's menu; I chose one. It took a while for it to open up; initially, I didn't get any nose at all, so no flavor although it was smooth. Once it opened it, it was good. Not great, but good. We watched the Owner/Bartender make fabulous-looking drink after fabulous-looking drink, including a Four-Wine Sangria made with several juices, fresh blueberries and fresh strawberries. After my husband finished his glass of Pinot Grigio, he had a glass of this Sangria. It was absolutely delightful, especially on such a hot day. The Owner/Bartender did a great job keeping up with traffic which, at times, was a line out the door. I am not aware of any food options. I brought a pastry from Blue Door Patisserie in with me; other customers brought in pizza, salads, etc.

Poor service. Avoid if you want to feel welcome as a paying customer. The bartender went out of his way to be rude.

The brunch is phenomenal! The breakfast sandwich is mouth watering and the stuffed French toast is outstanding.

A Hidden Gem for Wine Lovers in Old Town…read more Stopped into Noisy Water Winery while walking around Old Town and it ended up being one of the highlights of the afternoon. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a really cool art-gallery vibe throughout the space. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time sipping wine and browsing the local artwork. The wine selection was impressive--lots of unique New Mexico wines to choose from, and the tasting flights are a great way to try several different varieties. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations based on what we liked and explaining the wines without making it feel intimidating. We also tried a cheese board which paired perfectly with the wine and made the whole experience feel a little extra special. Whether you're a serious wine enthusiast or just looking for a fun stop while exploring Old Town, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great wine, great vibe, and great service. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in the area.

Hidden Gem in Nobhill Albuquerque…read more I recently visited the restaurant at Mission Winery and had a great experience from start to finish. To start, I ordered the sangria and the crab & artichoke dip. The sangria was on the sweeter side but not overwhelmingly so, making it easy to enjoy with the appetizer. The dip was delicious, creamy, and packed with flavor, although I honestly couldn't taste much artichoke. It was still a great starter, especially paired with the bread. For dinner, I ordered the red chile fried chicken bites with fries. The chicken was the standout of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and coated in a delicious red chile sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The fries were perfectly cooked and paired well with the ketchup. My friend shared the appetizer with me and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which she enjoyed alongside one of the wine tasting flights. The real surprise of the evening came after dinner. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part. The speakeasy had a completely different atmosphere from the restaurant above and quickly became the highlight of the night. The space feels intimate, sophisticated, and thoughtfully designed, with dark wood accents, comfortable seating, and a stylish lounge vibe. My friend and I both ordered espresso martinis, and they were fantastic. The presentation alone was impressive--the unique glassware was chilled and helped keep the cocktail cold longer, allowing us to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. Between the excellent food, wine, creative cocktails, and the hidden speakeasy experience, Mission Winery offers much more than just a typical dinner out. The restaurant was great, but the speakeasy downstairs is what will have me coming back. Recommendation: Start with dinner upstairs, then ask about the speakeasy password and finish your evening downstairs with an espresso martini. It's one of the coolest date night or girls' night experiences I've found in Albuquerque.

It has a very unique decor up front, with a river rock wall and two River Rock booths. I'm not sure how comfortable they are, but they sure look cool. There's a round bar up front and high top tables in the bar area. Walk a little further back into the dining room where there are standard tables. It also looks like there's another dining room toward the back but I didn't check that out. There's also patio seating in a big courtyard. It is a really lovely patio. Our server started us off with a sample of one of the red wines that comes from their winery. I don't usually like red wine very much, but I did love this wine and ordered a glass. They have a full bar and the other people in my party ordered cocktails. The server brought out some bread and butter to start is off. The menu has a little bit of everything for everyone - - there was some pasta, pot roast, fish, and even a burger. We ordered: *Rainbow trout with mango salsa, jasmine rice, and asparagus. Two of us ordered the trout, but I substituted my jasmine rice with mashed potatoes. *Country pot roast with mashed potatoes and brown gravy *Schnitzel with mashed potatoes and broccolini *Southwest meatloaf with mashed potatoes and The manager came to our table to see if everything was okay. I really appreciate when a manager does that. We had a really nice meal and a nice place and the price was very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this place.

The very friendly hotel staff pointed us to Crafted NM instead, which is Hotel Chaco's ground-level bar. We weren't sure if we would be able to get in last minute, but we lucked out! Alec greeted us right away and set us up in a gorgeous corner of the patio. From there, the evening just got better and better. The menu at Crafted is AMAZING. There are a ton of local wines and you can opt to do a flight if you're curious. I did a port flight and loved it. I don't often see this on menus so it was a welcome surprise. Each pour in the flight was delicious and I loved getting to sample some local products. My fiancé got a glass of red from local winery Gruet, and later found out from Alec that it was a special, limited-edition wine from a partnership between Gruet and Crafted. Apparently you can't find it in stores, so this is the place to come for it! Separately, the food menu looked delicious but we held back since we were on our way to dinner (but in hindsight, should have gotten a snack). The gougères on the menu looked particularly appetizing! Thanks to Alec for being so welcoming, efficient, and pleasant to talk to.
