This was a great find for breakfast! We were greeted and seated very quickly. The place was full, which is always a good thing :) We ordered the pancakes with eggs and bacon and a vegey omelet with home fries and Italian toast. Small place with a line outside the door on Sunday morning, but we came at a good time and got seated right away. They have some Covid precautions in place. Booth was very clean, I could see their busboy working hard to clear them fast. The food came out fast. Lots of options here I will have to try. The meal was so delicious, they do a homemade corned beef hash that was truly the main event on my plate. We would definitely come back here. read more

This is my first time at the restaurant we were very pleased with the portion size but more importantly it was very clean diner in the bathroom. The owner was very nice and talkative and we would definitely go back again so if you're anywhere near Leominster you should come to this place. It appears to be family-owned and operated for about nine years. It's off the main street and Leominster but it's easy to find with your GPS. We got a cheeseburger omelette which was great because it had lettuce tomatoes and mayonnaise as well as the cheeseburger on top. Great local diner! Stopped in with a few friends and had a great breakfast. The portions are quite hefty! Delicious home fries and interesting specials. The monthly pancake special, pumpkin spice pancakes, came out with cute candy corn garnishes. This is definitely a greasy spoon type place, so don't expect fancy options. There is a TV at each booth, which is cool. The booths are a little wobbly, which isn't cool. Stop by the West End Diner if you want a cheap, plentiful and tasty brunch. One quick sort-of negative - the hollandaise was delicious, but a little thick and a little chunky. My eggs were drowning in it! We have been going to this dinner for years and have noticed food quality getting worse. Tried one more time with take out and my croissant breakfast had small white hairs and one long hair stuck to the bottom of the croissant. It would have been delicious but I did not order the hair. Very disappointed and may never return. Beware of hair in your food. read more

We came on a Saturday they were moderately busy. We were greeted imeadiately, and had coffee within 5 minutes. Food 5 star, Tips were great. Fresh fruit in place of home fries. ...excellent. Service...5 star. Gianna was lovely. Even the bathroom was great (yes, that matters to me). read more

Kid friendly and yummy! First of all I have to say I have never been to a restaurant that was this kid friendly... booster seats, coloring, matchbox cars, and lollipops with the receipt! Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating, making it a very relaxed breakfast. Hot coffee filled multiple times without asking, excellent home fries and a very nice omelette full with ham. My fresh fruit included pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, watermelon... Impressive. All of the staff was extremely friendly and prompt, we will be back. read more

We have tried this place 3 times now. The thing that makes this review 1-star instead of a mediocre 2-3 star is their view on delivery. They keep a sign in from that says "we deliver breakfast!" but what it really means is "We deliver some of your breakfast order sometimes when we feel like it but not ever on weekends. Screw you." I have tried ordering breakfast from them about 4 times now but they only actually agreed to deliver once (citing being "too busy" at other times). The woman who answered the phone claims that she runs the delivery but sent a male delivery driver so, not sure what that means... Anyway, they charged us for all of the items and then forgot one and refused to drive it out to us but claimed they would "comp us on our next visit" (not going to happen. Fat Boys has better food & is closer!!!) I have NEVER experienced such terrible customer service and never had a restaurant screw up and respond with the diplomatic version of "sucks to suck" Now, the food... The corned beef hash (in restaurant) is canned. gross. My waffles (in restaurant) were not hot. The eggs (delivered) were FULL of egg shells. Seriously. Did not even eat them. Their bacon looks & tastes like the pre-cooked bacon I had back in my college cafeteria once upon a time. Save your time, money, tastebuds and stomach the trouble and go to Fat Boys where the corned beef hash is always fresh, the pancakes are huge, the orange juice is squeezed in-house, the staff is friendly and, best of all, they don't make false claims. read more

Had breakfast with my daughters today. Food was very good and fresh. Waitstaff very friendly and food came in a timely fashion. Major drawback for me was that I ordered a fruit cup with no cantaloupe. The gentleman preparing the fruit cup was in full view. I watched as he took out a bowl of fruit and used his bare hands to put fruit into my cup, he wiped his hands on his dirty apron and jeans, took a check from a waitress looked at it and handed it back, grabbed a plate, went into the storage under the counter , take out a styrofoam container, put a sandwich into the container, then turn around and put a couple more pieces of fruit into my fruit cup. He never washed his hands before touching the fruit or put on gloves, continued touching dirty items, wiping his hands on his dirty apron, and putting fruit into my cup. I was shocked to see that not once did he put on gloves. Even after the waitress brought the fruit cup and I told her. I watched as she went and told him. He still did not put on gloves and continued working handling food and other items. When I got my bill the fruit cup was on my bill, I asked the waitress to remove it as I did not touch it and would not eat anything that was served to me after being handled that way. She then ent and asked that it be taken off my bill. She took my bill and wrote me a whole new bill with an additional charge of $2 for the egg substitute, a charge she never mentioned to me when I ordered , not was it on my initial bill but appeared after the fruit cup was removed from my bill. When I walked in I thought, "hmmm, cute, clean little diner." Then I noticed the white board with the specials listed. I thought it may be a little pricey at $10 for their special pancakes or stuffed french toast. But I was wrong when I realized that the $10 would feed a family of 4. I ordered a Western omelet, my usual. The waitress who was extremely nice and on point brought our meals out pretty quickly. Each plate took up half the table. When Jeff, my dining critique partner, saw my eyes bug out because of the size, he said, " this is a typical Diner, you won't leave hungry." So we left a big tip and for two huge meals, coffee, tea, milk and OJ, we only paid $25. I now need a nap and I probably won't eat for the rest of the day. I will gladly return to this diner in the very near future and recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy a typical New England Diner. read more

What a fantastic restaurant! It was our first time visiting, and my family and I absolutely loved it. First of all, the place is spotlessly clean. Even the restrooms were perfect. Next, the service is terrifically friendly and helpful. The owner waited on our table, and was charming and accommodating to all our oddball requests. (Try the ranch dressing. ) Finally, the food! Three of us had breakfast, and can attest that the eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, and pancakes are great. But consider this place for lunch: the fires were out of this world, and the BLT was fresh and tasty. So, a full recommendation for the West End Diner. my husband and I usually go every Sunday. The place is always busy but never a long wait for a table. The pancakes and waffles are all made from scratch. No packages used here. The fruit cup I get is always fresh with a wide variety of fruits. The waitresses Jess, Debbie and Sherry are excellent. Always attentive to your needs. Classic smaller town diner - super friendly staff that greet all the regulars by first name, bottomless hot coffee, and cooks that come out and shoot the breeze with the customers. I've eaten at West end for years. We went this morning as a family of 4. Seated and greeted quickly. The service is usually always friendly and fast, today was no exception. My husband and I ordered omelets, he also got some steak, our kids had pancakes and a side of bacon. We ordered 2 cups of "fresh fruit" (this is the wording on the menu) which I've ordered before. Our food was ok. The pancakes were good my husband said, he tried a couple bites of the kids. I found my omelet to be almost tasteless and the home fries were sub par and mushy. My reason for 3 stars were the fruit cups. They arrived visibly frozen. I figured maybe the fridge temp was up to high and my kids really wanted fruit so we dumped them on a plate so they'd thaw out a tad. When strawberries are frozen they get a deeper red color. They were almost frozen solid, as was the honey dew and cantaloupe. I mentioned it to my server who replied she noticed and mentioned it to the kitchen but apparently it was shrugged off. She did take one side of fruit off the bill but for 10$ total, I could go and get enough fruit to make a large fruit salad. I will add the grapes weren't frozen so SOME of the fruit was fresh but if you're charging 5$ for a "fresh fruit cup", stop knowingly serving frozen fruit. I appreciate the waitress having one taken off but both should have been removed, in my opinion. We spent 48$ for a subpar breakfast and probably won't be back. read more

Outstanding on all points. I have been going there for a long time now and have never had a bad time. My sons and I love the place and most of the time have sat at the counter. They have booths and tables for larger groups. Also there is a tent set up out back which gives eating out in the sometimes crisp morning air a nice feeling. The food is great and the portions are large but I have no problems finishing. I love the Eggs Irish. Parking in their lot can be tricky but parking on the street is OK but be careful it is a busy area. read more

Great service! I ordered the kielbasa cheese peppers onion omelet and coffee. The ingredients were fresh and omelet was delicious. Their coffee is brewed straight from beans so had a fresh cup every time. My friend ordered a freshly baked muffin on the grill and a side of eggs and bacon. Food came up fast even while the place was super busy. Jen took care of us but Jessica and Debbie were also very attentive and checked up on us too. Excellent service with a smile. Not a good experience. I picked this place for lunch based on Yelp reviews. I sat at the counter. The guy behind the counter was not friendly, never greeted me and it took a few minutes to get a glass of water. A few minutes later a more friendly waitress took my order. I ordered a pastrami melt and sweet potato fries. It wasn't that busy. After 20 minutes the waitress brought the sandwich with no fries, saying that they were still cooking . I commented that service seemed slow for a "diner", and asked her to keep the sandwich warm until the fries were ready. I got some nonverbal attitude but she complied. Less than a minute later she came back with both and proceeded to tell me under her breath that I came at the end of "the wave", that they only had one cook and that they were a small business. Not appreciated. The pastrami was excessively salty and greasy to the point that the bread was soggy. My experience seems to be the exception rather than the rule, but worthy of note. read more

We live a few blocks away so why not stop in and get some breakfast. As we entered we were greeted by a man in shorts, red sox hat, asking us where would you like to be seated. I didn't know if he was a wandering customer, someone who just came from the bathroom etc, finally a waitress sat us down. The food was good, big portions, tasty, but the services was not good. West End is a great family diner with an amazing home cooked menu. We love the great selection of breakfast and lunch. TVs at every booth is a great touch for younger and older kids. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife and kids are picky eaters and they never get a hard time here. They are also very Gluten Free friendly. BEST Banana Strawberry Stuffed French Toast you'll find anywhere outside the city. Classic diner food that tastes great and is served fresh and hot. There is almost ALWAYS a wait on weekends so don't be surprised to get there and have to wait for fifteen or twenty minutes. The counter seats are somewhat tight, but there's more than enough seating between tables and counter that the turnover is pretty quick, especially with how efficient their service staff is. Not fancy, not pretentious, I'd say it's exactly what you're looking for if you like a great diner with diner favorites. read more

Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out, I consider myself a decent cook at best and any breakfast I could make at home would destroy this place! My omelet, which i ordered with spinach, tomatoes & peppers was served with SWEET peppers?!! You know those soggy kind that come packed in juice.. The flavor took over the whole omelet. The menu boasts about their French toast... my Aunt and Cousin got it , I didn't try it, but it was honestly like wonder bread dipped egg wash, no cinnamon or anything, it had NO color at all.. they said it was boring and bland. West End Diner has your typical diner atmosphere, low prices, and small-town staff. My friends and I were able to snag the last available booth a few Sundays ago. The food is served in epic proportions, but I wasn't so impressed...The bacon is sliced so thinly that the texture and flavor didn't sit well with me, and my scrambled eggs were a greenish brown from being overcooked. However, my blueberry pancakes were excellent and almost made me wish that I had opted for the ultimate pancake challenge. read more

I got an omelet there off the special menu, and it came on a HUGE platter, there was a TON of food, and I should have known better when it cost over 9 bucks! I couldn't finish it. However, it sure was tasty and had lots of spinach and feta cheese in it. Coffee was $2.00 (w/ refills) when usually we see around $1.50... we spent around $40 bucks on breakfast when we went here, which is outrageous for a diner. This is the most stellar place to grab breakfast! Their coffee was hot and perfect, and the refills were flowing! You absolutely HAVE to try the homemade corned beef hash. I had it with the Irish eggs benedict and honestly this was the best breakfast I've ever had the good fortune of eating! Went in with my wife and three kids on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was relatively busy but not crazy and we were seated quickly by a very nice high school aged girl. Other staff were friendly during our visit, as well. The food was ok. The highlights were the home fries and crispy bacon. I went here about a month ago for a late breakfast. I wasn't aware of new management taking over the diner. This has been my go to spot for many years. Jeff Cordio and his wife were always so pleasant, the past owners. He would come around and see how everything was. Always. One time I called for take out breakfast after they were closed but he made it for me anyway and said no problem :) He even gave me a breakfast for two certificate just because. Ok so, about my new experience. Overall the food was pretty good. Pancakes were not the same at all but everything else was good. Our waitress was meh. Had to keep calling her over for basic stuff when there was only one other table. The place just isn't the same as it used to be :( Not sure why as nothing was totally off upon my visit but definitely not the same vibe as before. read more
