Went for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Nice waiter, but slow, as in give us check, pick up check, return check. Not busy in the least. So we both order Angus burgers. I asked if kitchen was good at cooking as requested and he assured us so. We ordered both burgers med. rare and they came out well done! Why ask me how I want it when you make it however you want in the end? Most places do same thing. I would have sent back, but we had a 3pm show to catch. I like this place because it's a nice restaurant if you just wanna chill at a low key spot, have a good beer, and a GOOD burger. I've sampled a few places around here for good burgers, not cause I like eating burgers all the time, but when I do, I WANT A GOOD BURGER...! This place has won hands down over some of the places that were listed as "Annapolis Best Burger"..uhh, ok, maybe... And their seasoned fries rock. I've been there for lunch and for dinner, good all around. The ONLY negative thing I'd say about this place is if you have an allergy, I wouldn't count on the information given by the staff. I informed them of my soy allergy, and got excited when I found a new place I could order salads from, as most salad dressings have soy oil as the ingredients. Well, being my allergy is only severe if I go to the gym after eating an allergen, LUCKILY, I did not go to the gym that day. I later broke out in hives....so obviously, there WAS soy in the dressings. Thank God I did not go to the gym, as their mistake would have sent me to the hospital. . . Nice bar restaurant with great atmosphere. I had the spicy bourbon wings and crispy fries. The wings are done well. The sauce is a little Sweet and a little Spicy. Overall they were very good. Comes with celery, carrots and plenty of blue cheese dressing. The fries were actually great. Very crispy and tasty. They have several kinds of fries to choose from. I picked the "crispy fries". I had a couple draft beers, and they were ice cold. The service is fast and friendly. I will definitely come back here when I return to this area. read more

Awful food! Not sure how they got 4 stars, unless it is rigged. Definitely clean and might be great for bar bites and beer, but NOT a dinner location. We were on a day trip in Annapolis and this place came up with 4 star ratings. We had the Greek shrimp, mistake! Caesar salad with the most unseasoned piece of salmon I've ever had! I met friends here for a bite to eat and happy hour before returning to my home in California. I am in love with old bay wings and have tried many in the area. These were the best ever! The West End Grill met my expectations for a place to get a burger and a beer. I had a dinner salad and my companion a wrap, both were tasty, but nothing special. We were the lone diners in the restaurant (8:00 on a weeknight) along with a few bar patrons. The service was fast and friendly, but not at all professional; long wait at the hostess stand, server hollering orders to the bartender, server eating dinner at a table nearby. Food is palatable for the price, atmosphere and decor are lacking. It almost feels like there's an old "film" on everything. After looking for a late night snack (somewhere we never tried) and looking to have a few drinks, we ended up here. The website stated they closed at 2am so that made us happy since it was about 11:30. The crowd was younger than we would prefer (this was a Saturday night) and we're 30somethings (upper 30). The layout is a bit weird because I thought I was looking at the whole place then I go to the rest room only to see a separate room with a different party scene going on... made me feel like I was in someone's house. Anyway, you had to make your way through a crowded room to find a seat, because no one is going to help you, even though when you walk in it gives off the appearance that you would be greeted and seated. INCORRECT! So as we find our seat, we eventually received menus and a waitress. I don't know her name, some young brunette who looks about 22 and had no idea about anything we asked. She seemed ditzy and every time you asked her something she would reply "WHAT??!" very loudly. That was annoying and came off as rude. She had no idea of the specials or didn't even know if they even existed, although their website stated daily specials on beer and mini -bombs (just to name a few). Her reply was that they only have specials during happy hour. If that's true, the site is false advertising...but anyway. Then she stated that she didn't know any of that because she only works in the daytime usually. Great. You're no help. Oh yea, and in between the time she wasn't at our table, she was in the corner with some dude talking and drinking shots. Again...wtf? So we ordered, my food came with soup... yet I had to ask for a spoon. We had corned beef which was HORRIBLE! I come from a city that is known for its corned beef so my standards are high but this was the worst Ive had in my life and Ive tried it in many others cities and my only complaint was that it was smaller than Im use to. For some reason the bun had some slime on the bottom. WTF that was? I don't know. Then the meat was fatty in some areas and overcooked in others. Not to mention, zero flavor. We also had wings --- these had to be the hardest wings ever. I was excited at all the sauce flavors and that actually sounded good but having good sauce doesn't matter if you dip old, overcooked wings in it. Yuck! The alcoholic beverage was fine and It came in a pretty large glass so that was cool. Other than that, for the price this place did not meet or exceed any great levels in food or service. If we ever came back, it would be only for a drink, maybe at the bar if its not crowded. This time it was crowded which was stupid because the rest of the place was pretty empty so why everyone was blocking the bar (and why they allow it) is beyond me. read more

West End Grill and Chef Dan is the best kept secret in Annapolis! I have been there a few times before and thought it would be a great place to hold a dinner party; great food, great beer on tap and a private room. We booked the private room a friend's 40th birthday and had a great time. We couldn't be happier. We met with Chef Dan just over a week before the event and planned the menu. "Planned" means we gave him some of the our friend's favorite foods and he said he would take care of it... It is nice to be able to trust a chef to deliver on the food and on the budget! We did it family style for about 16 people. We had no idea when the first plate went down what we were in store for, except that it was going to be good. Started with a thai chicken salad in a cucumber cup Lobster mac and cheese Crab claws in Natty Boh butter sauce Mesclun salad with candied pecan and candied bacon- CANDIED BACON! Tater tots with cheese curds and demi-- a poutine. Bacon wrapped meatloaf Panko crusted salmon with mustard vinaigrette. And the service was great! The drinks flowed and the beer was cold- The 1554 from New Belgium is awesome-if you like Fat Tire you need to try this! Go there- Eat there- Drink there... You will not be disappointed. read more

For a bar, with bar food, I think they do a great job. I usually stick to the apps and sandwiches and have never been let down. Best wings in town IMO and lots of other well thought selections. Get a better hostess. The girl walked us through the entire bar without telling us what table we were sitting at; even a "this will be your table just a second would've worked). You have one job, greeting and making customers feel welcomed not like cattle.... (We were there Friday night). Sports bar with delicious food....great combination! Staff was super friendly, beer was good and cold, and the food was fantastic. I opted for the berry/spinach salad, while my friend got a burger and we were both more than satisfied with our choices. On the way out, there was a gentleman standing by the door who struck up a conversation, encouraging me to come back, saying it was the "Cheers of Annapolis". Wings for an appetizer were very good but BBQ pulled pork sandwich wasn't good and corned beef sandwich was horrible. I ordered the Steak salad and it was bland, the steak was cold and the salad looked like a total mess. My friend ordered a Gyro and it was so dry. Don't recommend for dinner. read more

My three kids and I decided to try West Street Grille based on the favorable Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, the Yelp reviews were horribly inaccurate. First the positive, our waitress Rachel was friendly, kept our drinks full, and was sincerely apologetic for the speed of the kitchen. We sat down and ordered the corned beef egg rolls and fried mozzarella first thing. 30-minutes later they arrived. We were then told they were way understaffed that night. This is something we should have Naveen told at the beginning. The egg rolls were overly greasy and the mozzarella was OK. Our main courses arrived about an 45-minutes or so later. Our entrees oddly enough weren't hot but warm. My son's tacos came 10-minutes later and they were lukewarm. My family ordered carnitas tacos, chicken Alfredo sandwich, a hot dog and a taco special - fish or shrimp. These were all average. The taco shells were chewy. Our total time at West End Grille was two hours. We won't be back. The restaurant was dirty; especially, the rest rooms. There are much better options in Annapolis! read more

Pros: the food was good, not great, but pretty good. Our server was super nice, although we didn't see her often. Ranch is made in house Cons: dirty - so dirty. Just sitting in the booth makes you feel a bit gross. The layout is a little confusing, and it is seat yourself. Maybe the "nicer" side would've been better - we were on the "sports bar" side. Just seems to be a really strange set up for the type of food they offer. If you are looking for a local, quaint restaurant, this is NOT for you. Okay for locals looking for a cheaper meal, but if you are looking for authentic, Annapolis feel then I recommend a restaurant downtown. The pictures posted make it look this way, but once inside it looks like a Greene Turtle type chain restaurant. Will not be back. read more

We got seated right away- the heat the AC was definitely working! I'm never cold and they did it! I ordered a Cuban sandwich and my husband had fish and chips. I think I needed something additional for a sauce to bring the sandwich together. I liked all the elements of my sandwich. I think I would try something different if we went back.
