Risotto a i frutti di mare.

Great food! Enjoyed chatting with Armando e Francesco. The fritto misto was outstanding and so was the risotto and pasta alle vongole. What a gem!!!

    Spaghetti with clams. Very good.

My rating is within the context of higher-end "date night" restaurants. I'll start with the food. I think the spaghetti with clams was very good. It was in a simple shellfish-garlic reduction, and the spaghetti was clearly house made. We ordered the Chef salad to split. Divided, it was plenty for each of us. It had plenty of candied walnuts and grilled pear slices. It had a balsamic glaze around the edges... artistically presented. My H had the lasagna. He likes to get lasagna from every Italian restaurant we try. He enjoyed the toasty bolognese sauce it was made with, as well as the copious amounts of ricotta inside it. We thought the wine list could have used some lower priced bottles. We ordered an Italian Sauvignon Blanc for $67. It tasted great but I probably would have been happy with a New Zealand SB For half the cost. I don't have the same complaint about water as the other yelpers. We asked for regular "tap" water and received it with no resistance. I also can't complain about the bread. It's crusty on the outside. That's how Europeans make bread. They served olive oil at the table. I'd have appreciated some balsamic vinegar to go with it. We did not experience a "butter candle". I'm not sure what that was about, but they must have discontinued it. Their silverware is nice and heavy. I get annoyed when high-end restaurants expect me to use Smart & Final thin, cheesy utensils. The atmosphere and ambience... I can say, "loud". Not entirely because of the room -- it was definitely "live" and could have used some baffling -- but mostly inconsiderate, entitled patrons acting like they own the joint. There was a group of five in the back corner booth, whom I hope were worth it to the owners, because the service at many of the other tables was diminished by the attention of the owners and chef, being poured into that corner. The volume added insult to injury. I can gauge imposing loudness by how many times I must say, "What?" to the man with a perfectly clear speaking voice, sitting two feet away. I recall at least five "whats". The chef came out and yuck-yucked with the loud table for a good 20 minutes. I wondered if anybody got food during that time. Other yelpers complained about the seating. I thought the chairs were nice. The banquets were fine; a little low but nothing to make a big deal out of. It was odd, we had reservations but were not asked if we had reservations. Once seated, we sat there staring into space until an owner finally noticed we didn't have menus. The owners wait the tables. They were very courteous and upbeat. Maybe we will go back, but probably not on a regular basis. The bill was a little spendy for it to become a regular outing. For similar cost, we could consider Mastros or Sette Sorelle for a more diverse menu and non-preferential service, albeit the latter is just as noisy.

Went there for the second visit tonight. First visit was on their opening night which had a few challenges. Tonight they asked if we wanted tap, still or sparkling water (the first night tap wasn't mentioned). I chose sparkling tonight because I prefer that and am fine with the price. They served some delicious I don't know what little bite from the kitchen -- sauce was a creamy almost Alfredo. But I swear I have no clue what the square was but it was tasty. The bread was MUCH better this visit. Bread sticks were eh but not covered in sesame seeds like last time, so overall an improvement. We shared the meatballs --- very tender and super tasty. Amazing marinara... the burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes was delish. I had the minestrone for the second time. It was delicious- but not like a traditional minestrone - no pasta, no tomatoes, but just a light delicious soup with a bunch of veggies. Although I think the last time it had a few tomatoes in it. One of my favorite things they make. We also had the mushroom pappardelle. It was good with lots of porcini mushrooms but I feel it could benefit from some butter and maybe some portobellos and maybe shorter noodles- but I get that they've made it the Italian way (no butter). Pasta-wise, I preferred the lasagna from my last visit. All of their pastas (except spaghetti and penne) are handmade and tender. I'll try another type next time - wasn't hungry enough to share two pasta dishes tonight. Dessert was their amazing tiramisu. It's a must-try in my view. Oh and my daughter had a glass of wine (super Tuscan? It's an Italian red blend. See photo) that was delish. We recommended it to a wine loving friend as soon as we left. Service was freaking AMAZING. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 12-13. I am shocked that anyone has had crummy service. They are super attentive. I wish Armando and Francesco much luck. I will be back soon.

Let's start with their FRITTO MISTO, a mouthwatering combination of fried calamari and shrimp. The addictive sauce that accompanies it is a must-order, and we often find ourselves ordering extra! For a hearty side, try their grandmother Nonna's meatballs, POLPETTE DELLA NONNA. They're incredibly tasty and a great way to start your meal. If you're a fan of zucchini blossoms, you'll absolutely love their FIORI DI ZUCCA RIPIENI. It's a delightful dish that's sure to impress. One of my favorite salads is their INSALATA DELLA CASA, which is a refreshing and healthy option. Adding grilled shrimp takes it to the next level. Now, let's talk about their main courses. Their seafood and pasta dishes are all mouthwatering, but here are our favorites: 1) CACIO E PEPE: This dish is incredibly delicious and goes to another level when you add their grilled shrimp and truffle. 2) BRANZINO: Their seafood is cooked perfectly every time, and they often have HALIBUT as a special dish, which we love as a great alternative. 3) BOLOGNESE: Our son absolutely devours this dish, and it's a great option for kids. 4) STROZZAPRETI: This pasta dish is another great choice, filled with a lot of flavor. 5) LASAGNA: It used to be our number one dish until we started exploring their menu. 6) BRASATO DI MANZI: This is an ultra-delicious bone-in slow-braised beef short rib dish that's out of this world! I think this place may be my new favorite restaurant…read more My friend and I walked in on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, with no reservations. The place was packed, but I have to assume we got really lucky because we got seated right away at an open table near the front. Our server greeted us immediately and brought us waters for the table. We were overwhelmed initially by the menu options because everything sounded incredible. We asked our waitress what she recommended, and she said literally everything on the menu is amazing - nothing is bad and every dish is popular. So I was quite impressed to hear that. My friend and I decided to get the steak tartare, woodfire grilled octopus, fried gnocchi, and chicken liver pate. Every single dish was actually incredible. The chicken liver pate came with four slices of toast, some pickled vegetables and ground mustard. The pate was creamy, rich, slightly on the sweeter side, so it paired perfectly with the tang from the ground mustard & pickled vegetables. The woodfire grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Seriously the best, freshest octopus I've ever had! It wasn't chewy or fishy at all. The texture was absolutely perfect. It was very easy to cut into and juicy. It was paired perfectly with the aïoli as well. The steak tartare was extremely fresh. One of the things that I hate about steak tartare at restaurants sometimes is it will start to look brown from the meat oxidizing so it doesn't always look as appetizing, but this tartare was still had that vibrant red color as if they had just cut the meat. Lastly, the fried gnocchi was amazing. It's the first time I've ever had a dish with fried gnocchi. They paired it with a cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. I wish I remembered what was in it, but it was so good. I wanted to drink that sauce lol. Love how the gnocchi was also perfectly seared, had no lumps, and basically melts in your mouth. Overall, loved the ambience of this place as well. It's very hip. trendy. Definitely a louder environment but perfect for a weekend night out to enjoy great food. I would recommend making reservations. I think my friend and I probably just got lucky because we went a little bit earlier on a Friday night. Also wanna mention all of the wait staff was amazing. Food was served very quickly and we had no issues with any of our orders. I seriously cannot wait to come back here and try every single thing on the menu!

There's alway that nice factor of trying someplace new. This was a find from one of our friend…read more Which was also a hit from another friend who's dined before. We had a dinner reservation last Saturday which we showed up a little early to have a cocktail before hand. It's located inside of a strip mall with loads of parking. A decent size patio seating. When you walk in, you're greeted with the hostess who were amazing. Right infront of you is the bar area. That itself isn't big at all. There's a few seat along the bar area and that's about it. Also inside dining isn't big as well. Restaurants wasn't massive but nice and quaint and very busy. We were told that if we wanted to grab a drink and take it outside to a spot while we wait for our table it would be fine. They would come get us once it's ready. Cocktails and wine menu was quite nice. They do allow you to bring up to two bottles for a corkage fee. Which we did take advantage of. But beforehand, started off with their smoke and sour cocktails. Mezcal, lime, hibiscus juice, farm egg whites and cherry bitters. It was quite delicious and that smoked mezcal, wow. If you like mezcal, it's worth trying. Bar area isn't big so we had to stand there and wait for our drink. Maybe a 10 to 15 minutes later, we were informed our table was ready. We were seated right behind the bar area for a table for four. I believe Jonathan was our waiter. Very sweet and friendly. Also, it did seemed like a lot of regulars. All the staff members seem to know everyone that was dining. Menu is limited but quite impressive. We started off with a few shared plates before the entrees. -Ember roasted red beets with preserved lemon crèma, spiced pumpkin seeds, pickled Fresno chilis and mint. Wow, it was delicious. The flavors with the beets, kiss kiss. -Smoke trout toast- blisters cherry tomatoes, candy beets, wild arugula, crème fraiche and lemon. This was top dish for starters from all of us. The flavor of the trout was the star of the dish. Highly recommend. -Mushrooms flatbread- shiitake, buna shimeji and oyster mushrooms, tarragon, fiore di Latte mozzarella and crème fraiche. Mushrooms lovers with amazing variety all combined together for a delicious bite. -Spicy scampi flatbread- rock shrimp, parsley, garlic, Calabrian chilis and parmigiano reggiano. It's literally having a seafood scampi but on a flatbread. Wow wow, favorite out of the two flatbread. Definitely recommend. Entrees, Manila clams and salt spring mussels tossed in spaghetti with Calabrian chilis and parsley. The flavors were excellent. Simple but very tasty. -Crispy gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, basil in a Parmesan fondue. It's alway a hit or miss for me but this was a hit. And the elk which was maybe a special. Not quite sure the whole description but it was very tasty. Plus it was very tender and cooked perfectly and mixed with a sauce and topped with crispy onions. Another hit. Lastly we actually had room left for dessert which was the bread pudding. Hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect way to end an amazing meal. The service was great. Food was excellent and highly recommended. Each dish had its unique taste that was delicious. Everything ordered was outstanding and no crumbs were left. We would definitely be back.
