I went with West Valley Moving Co for our recent move and I was very satisfied with the all around service provided. Upfront they provided timely quotes and communication for the scheduling process, they were even flexible to move around the date/time with us as we requested a change after booking our original time. We had booked 2 movers for a 1 bedroom apartment move and this ended up being adequate for us. On the day we moved, they showed up right on time and contacted me to check on logistics (we were moving from a multi-story condo complex with an elevator). After getting the truck situated, they went right to work surveying the situation in our apartment and loading the truck, we had prepacked most items in boxes but they also lent us wardrobe boxes to use free of charge for clothes as well as miscellaneous items. They carefully packaged and wrapped all furniture in moving blankets and we had them use a plastic mattress bag for extra protection on our mattress that was an additional charge but reasonable. Unloading at our new place went smooth as well, they carefully laid down runners and worked with us to ensure we had a plan around keeping our carpets and floors clean since we had just had the carpets cleaned. read more

Can't explain how efficient and nice these guys were. Did things in 1/2 the time of the competing bids. Were happy and nice the whole time. Couldn't believe the efficiency. They were singing and joking through most of it. I tipped them $100 and was still under 50% of the bids I got on the job. I'll probably never use another moving company. read more

They packed my apartment and wrapped all my furniture carefully, ensuring that my items arrive in great condition. I communicated with Joey via Yelp. The first response almost already helped me make a decision. Straightforward and upfront, no "hidden" unknowns, unlike many other companies that wanted me to call them to "discuss" details etc. Who has time for that? Joey (and later Nick over the phone) took my multitude of questions patiently. And all was decided over Yelp messaging. I was actually nervous since it all went so smoothly. But I didn't have to, really. On the day of the move, their guys showed up a little late, but only because they were given a wrong address by the head office due to a lapse in one of the digits in the building number. No biggie for me. The move was swift and smooth. They know moving; real professionals. I had an upright piano which was my biggest concern. Nick and team are awesome! They were able to do a last minute move for us after our movers cancelled. They loaded up our storage unit faster than expected and when it came to unloading at our new home they were extremely careful and considerate. Asked us exactly where things needed to be and even assembled my bed so quickly I didn't realize they had done it! When they left I asked my husband if he could put the bed together so I could put sheets on and he said it was already done! Nick was very clear about costs upfront and on his way out even asked if there was anything else we needed moved. I HATE moving but Nick and team made it as painless as possible. Updating my review to 5 stars. Happy they addressed the small issue with the wardrobe boxes so promptly. Awesome service. These guys were very professional, careful and competent movers and made the move stress free. The cost and time were completely acceptable. Giving only 4 stars because I requested wardrobe boxes and they did come to my home to estimate how many were needed but they clearly underestimated. This resulted in them using some very old boxes that were falling apart and smelled like sour milk (no REALLY). The hanger bars fell in and my clothes were at bottom of some of these smelly boxes. When I advised them of this one of the movers said they should deodorize them - but that would not help - they need to invest in new boxes that are not caving in and smell so that customers don't feel the need to wash their clothes after removing them from the boxes. I would use them again - but would hope they'd have new boxes next time. Also the fact that I had to pay by check or have an extra charge for using a card was a bit of a pain but....for the most part - great service, great group of workers. I was referred to this company by my real estate agent. One of the owners came out and gave me a reasonable estimate to move all of my belongings from my home in Cupertino to a temporary apartment in Sacramento where my work has taken me. The original plan was that I would do all of my own packing to save money and the movers would come out and move all of the furniture and boxes. The only problem was that I was not able to box everything up on time and had to call Joey the night before and tell him that I was not fully ready. He said that it was no problem and that they would handle the rest of the left over packing and prep work. Joey, Nick, and their crew came out the next day and finished up all of the packing and moved me to Sacramento all in the same day. I had to pay a little extra for the added work and materials that wasn't included in the estimate but all in all these guys went above and beyond to provide me top notch service. The team were punctual and showed up right on time. Both wore masks throughout. They handled our stuff with care including loose items that we had not packed into boxes. For larger furniture items they provided padding and mats to prevents scratches or marks. Loading and unloading done very efficiently in quick time. I definitely recommend them! read more

Here's the long awaited follow up to our moving experience. As previously written, we were left high and dry by Five-Star on the evening of May 28. I am still upset, disappointed, and surprised by its unprofessionalism. How can people/companies operate in such a unprofessional manner and still be in business? As we were frantically yelping and calling other moving companies, Joey from West Valley called us right back at approximately 8:10pm, after his office had already closed. Joey was able to locate some help to assist us with our move at 10 am the next day! Unfortunately, due to our work commitments, we had to wait until Thursday, May 31, to move. This also required us paying a daily penalty fee to the apartment complex for occupying the apartment after our lease had expired. But the absolute move-out date had to be May 31 by 10 am. Joey assured my fiance on the phone that his team will arrive by 8 am to have a hail mary chance of clearing out by 10 am. To our pleasant surprise, at 7:55 am on May 31, Freddie and Nick showed up at the apartment. They were not only on-time, they were early! They were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient throughout the entire process. They took great care of our belongs and wrapped valuables (TV, sofa, etc) with care. They did not complain about the fact that we packed many of our things in large garbage bags (my fiance was too cheap to buy more boxes when we ran out). Instead, they used their own boxes and boxed up our bags. There were probably about a dozen bags or so...They came by early, set up quick and got to work. The truck was all pack by 9:30am and we were able to complete the move-out inspection before 10am! Freddie and Nick were equally efficient with unloading everything at our destination over 50 miles away and in traffic. They were even able to move the 8-foot long sofa up the narrow internal stairs with low head room without any incident. The last time that we moved in/out of this place we had to hoist the same sofa over the second floor balcony. Luckily, it didn't fall on anyone. Freddie and Nick did it with ease! All in all, the entire process took less than six hours and the price was less than we expected! Nothing was damaged and they made us feel like they really cared about us and our things. On a side note, Nick even texted my fiance to wish us a wonderful wedding this summer. People and companies like this are sadly so hard to find these days. If you are moving, please contact West Vally Moving Co. first. Whatever your issues are or complications with the move, this group of awesome individuals will take good care of you. West Valley Moving is the best moving company I've ever used. Period. They are professional, friendly, accommodating, super responsive, and get things done. I moved from a high rise with LOTS of rules and procedure, so many that many service providers (contractors, movers, etc) won't work in the building. Nick dealt with all the buildings demands with a smile on his face and got our move approved quickly through the building. He was incredible at communicating, responsive and made no issue of the (demanding) requirements of the building. The move was super smooth. We added a furniture pick up on the way, which West Valley handled effortlessly and even got to us early after the pickup. They were incredible to interact with, took all of our requirements (pack this together, this later, dissemble the bed, etc) perfectly and were great to interact with, even making helpful suggestions related to our furniture along the way. Great experience with Nick and his team. I move from south San Jose to north Sunnyvale. I get a big bed, big sofa, a large tv, mirror, land lamp, more than 20 boxes etc. Both sofa and bed needs dissemble and assemble to fit the room. They are very professional, treat my stuff carefully and the moving is productive. They plan ahead well, put thing in a way fitting the room plan best. They pay attention to the labels I put on box, and don't put things on top of those I marked as fragile. The whole process is swift and clean. They put thick pads around my furnitures (my roommate's movers just wrap plastic film around the furnitures). They are friendly and happy people. Highly recommend. I picked them because they were the first response to my request for quotes(and I sent many). I thought that could reflect the attitude. And I am glad that is the right choice. read more

I was able to move within a week to my new home plus move some pieces to a consignment store as well. In addition since I moved during the week, I received a great discount. On my moving day, I was met with Hayden, Gabe and Troy. They made my move effortless. They were very professional. I told them what pieces were going to my new home and what were going to consignment. They packed the truck so the items going to consignment were ready to be unloaded first. Guys showed up on time. Joey was great to communicate with even with short notice. Docked stars because they kitchen took FOREVER to pack even with the help of my husband and mother in law. Also docked points because even though we insisted the furniture was fine in the truck, the movers still used $100 worth of moving boxes as a barrier in between the furniture. $100 worth of unused boxes that we now cannot get money back for. Immediately I was impressed with the communication and price point from Nick. We didn't have a set date when I reached out, so he noted my information. When I called back over a month later, Nick immediately recognized me and worked to get me on the calendar as soon as possible. Unfortunately I had a delay in my move and Nick and his team was so understanding and helped me to reschedule! I was blown away!! I requested a quote 48 hours before our move (shame on me!) and heard back within an hour with a great price. On move-in day they showed up 15 minutes early and packed up our entire kitchen, moved several pieces of large furniture, and delivered it to our new home exactly as specified without a scratch in under four hours, even beating their original quote. These guys are the best. Highly recommend. They packed my entire house contents for storage which turned out to be 3 months, until I found my new home in Oregon. When I unpacked it all, there was No. Damage. At. All. That includes a piano. The Oregon movers were even impressed with the way my belongings were wrapped. "These guys know what they're doing.
