I've been eating these burgers since I was a little girl. There is no other place around Like it. It's private owned by a local family and the new generations keep taking over and keeping the same recipes and the same stuff we love about Bartels Giant Burger. McDonald's ain't got nothing on these guys fresh cooked to order French fries that you get piping hot every time. I always get my onions grilled and add an Ortega green chili pepper that they cook right on the grill with the onions. My mouth is watering from just typing this. They make a delicious grilled Cheese for the kiddos. And their old fashioned milk shakes are so delicious. If you haven't eaten here then you must be new in town. Was super excited to try out this Burger joint after hearing a friend had a great experience there. Was greatly disappointed and rudely taken care of a gal who was extremely rude and not customer friendly at all. Further more. I accidentally cracked my soda lid and went to ask for a new one. The other two workers on shift immediately jumped in to help and were pushed away and seemed to not want to be anywhere near this gal taking orders from people. Maybe management can look into this and change my mind in the near future, but for now I Won't be going back any time soon. read more

The short blonde haired lady was RUDE and confrontational ;argued with other customer about what she wanted to order. When I ordered for burger by itself and she charged us for a meal. Stopped on the way up to Oregon because I seen that they do a giant burger so very disappointing their giant burger, especially on their double cheeseburger was too smashed patties that didn't equate to a quarter pound hamburger patty. The burger had no flavor whatsoever. I was totally disappointed. I could honestly got a better burger at McDonald's. I used to live right down the street when I lived in Anderson and this place was actually pretty good way back when why they're serving mediocre meat just doesn't make any sense and then charge you $16 for a double cheeseburger I would not ever recommend this place. This was my double cheeseburger. You get a bigger patty at McDonald's on their single cheeseburger. We stopped here as they showed up as pet friendly. It was 104 at 5 pm and they brought my Bella fresh water. I was sending my partner out to the car for my pups dinner when they told me they made pup patties. We did not get her one since we're on a road trip and did not want to introduce new foods. All the employees were gracious each and every moment. Food was great, fresh ingredients. Fries were perfectly crispy shoestrings and the chocolate shake was thick! Very unfortunate. We're locals that have been coming for years and recently, we've noticed intentional overcharging. Today, I got home and was missing a burger. I called immediately and unfortunately, Autumn was very unhelpful on purpose. Originally, she tried to tell me I didn't order what I was charged for. Then, proceeded to tell me she couldn't break down why 3 burgers (one kids) and 3 fries was 38.63$. Which was unfortunate because I ensure to tip every time as well. She refused to break down the cost and said she was unable to ring anything up on her register unless I came in so she could override my mistake. I have never been spoken to in that way. Never once did she try to fix the issue. We won't be returning. Make sure to get an itemized receipt. I've been overcharged 8-20$ the last three visits. They are very rude when asked as well with the excuse that they've recently raised prices. I kindly reminded them they would have to update the board to reflect that as to not be falsely advertising and stealing patrons money. read more

In my opinion Bartels is a notch above Inn & Out Burger but doesn't have the long line. My only word of caution is, if you google them and call in an order, make sure you call the right one as sometimes google brings up an out of town location. read more

Went to this joint to check out the giant burgers, to my surprise it wasn't so giant but that's ok. The wait was longer than I expected just to order but I can see that they only had 3 people working that day. Burgers itself were mediocre, nothing special about them. Kind of weird how the kids burger in the menu says "ketchup only" and you have to add condiments to them separately? I ordered a hamburger for myself and cheeseburgers for the kids. The soda and shakes never came so I had to ask the server about it after my food was delivered. Don't except fast service if you're really hungry! read more

What a great find! We have been looking for something other than fast food when we are driving through on I-5 and are thrilled to have discovered Bartel's. First off, the burgers and fries are excellent. No, they aren't giant, however they are plenty big. I have no complaints about the size, especially given the reasonable price and the great flavor. And contrary to what others may have said, you CAN order the burger cooked anyway you want, you simply have to ask. Second, the staff at this location was great. We called in our order and even though they were very busy, they never acted rushed or like we were bothering them. And we even had to call in a second time to add a shake. We arrive just a few minutes later and they were always most of the way done with our order, so even when they are busy, they are still efficient in getting food out. (My recommendation is the burger, with cheese, bacon, chile and pickles, and then add the fry sauce to it. Delicious!!!, and under $10.) Overall, we are thrilled at finding Bartel's and look forward to many more visits. read more

Bartels advertises good old fashioned hamburgers and that it delivers in spades. I've only experienced the Anderson location but I absolutely love love love the food. The burgers are amazing and reasonably priced as are the French fries (very crispy and delicious). I really like the old fashioned ambience this location offers, and the staff is always very friendly. If you're passing by one of the locations I recommend heading on in and trying their delicious giant burger. read more

I love supporting small businesses, especially this one since I know some of the family but this location in anderson seems to be going down hill. They leave you on hold for 15 minutes without saying anything. Their should be a better system for call in orders like any other place especially if you don't want to wait to get your food. Food can be a hit and miss but for the most part it's good. Only reason for one star is because of the terrible service almost everytime and trying to call in Togo. I'd recommend just showing up and ordering or just go to the other locations. I definitely won't be back until they fix there system or get better workers. read more
