After going to school in New England finding flavored cream cheese as been a goal, and theirs is delicious! I tried the strawberry one and it really came through. Wasn't going to write a review on this place with mediocre bagels, but I just saw that they also discriminate against service dogs which is ILLEGAL. Here goes: Bagels are a 3/10. While my family and I were eating here we witnessed employees giving people with their service dog a hard time. As someone with epilepsy this is beyond uncalled for. My service dog is a beagle mix and they are so lucky my dog wasn't with me because if they had done that to me my attorney would have been on the phone so fast. I will never return here after seeing how they discriminate on people with disabilities, obvious or not. And just a little bit of education: ESAs are the only ones you can ask for documentation for, service dogs do not legally need to wear a vest nor do we have to carry paperwork regarding our disability because it is a HIPAA violation. This place has GREAT bagels! However, their service and wait times leave a lot to be desired. Their ordering system does not seem very organized, so on multiple occasions they have forgotten to make my order entirely! You can also expect to wait a long time, maybe 20-30 minutes for a single toasted bagel, which is not efficient if you just need to grab something quickly to go or are on a time crunch before work. First, let me say I am a fan of Western Bagels and I have been coming to this and other Western bagels for a long time. I love the lox and cream cheese spread and the garlic bagels. But I stopped in the other day around 1 pm and walked through the line they have set up but there was no one waiting on line so I walked up to the counter. There was one employee standing at the register with her back to me and two employees who were talking off to the right side. When I stepped up to the counter the woman behind the counter with her back to me spun around and said you know there's a line over there you have to go over there. I said there's nobody on the line and nobody was paying attention to me so I came up to the counter and once again she said well you can't just come up here there's a line you have to stand on. No smile, haughty attitude like a teacher scolding a child. But I just smiled and said ok I'd like 3 garlic bagels sliced and a tub of lox and cream cheese spread. She seemed annoyed and charged me $1 to slice the 3 bagels. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she just wanted to exert her authority. I don't know. I'm Never Going Back to Western Bagel. I love a good poppy mit shmear and nova salmon --I'm a true New Yorker. I've been driving over from Pasadena to meet a friend there for brunchtime bagel. The staff is surly and sullen and obviously HATE THEIR JOBS. This location opens at 5 AM: is that really a good idea? This means they close at 2 PM even though this shopping center is CRAMMED and busy til 9 PM. Perhaps the reason the staff is bitter, sloppy, careless and NOT HELPFUL is that they've been on their feet since 5 AM. This seems like a poor marketing decision. So, at 1:30 PM, the crew starts swabbing off the tables with bleach and stacking the chairs and making it VERY OBVIOUS that they don't want us there. Lots of stinkeye and sour expressions. Bear in mind that The Original-- described above-- is $15.95. OUCH! A good bagel shop is so hard to find. This is not one. I've gone past this place so many times and today I really wanted a bagel. I don't appreciate sassy attitude if I'm giving you my business and my money pays your paycheck! It was my first time here and obviously I had questions because many of the bagel baskets were empty and some looked like the wrong label. I ordered 1 breakfast sandwich $5.95 : microwaved egg, no ketchup or mayo offered. $3 iced coffee: add cream and sweetener yourself. The only thing I noticed and would have purchased but I just wanted to eat and leave was they have their own brand for cream cheese. So disappointing. I'm ok with paying for food specially Burbank that tends to be more expensive if it comes with good service and flavor. They also need to do a detail cleaning. So dirty everywhere. read more

The bagels are great. All of the bagels are vegan except for the egg or cheese-y bagels, according to staff. I wish they had vegan toppings available too. That's the only bummer to me. The coffee is okay. They sometimes will let you jump ahead of hungry people in line if you're just ordering coffee. That's nice! It is INCREDIBLY hot. Its 3:45am on May 2nd 2007 and im at CVS looking for a specific Close-Up red gel toothpaste with my friends Daniel and Nick and we find out. We step into the Hollywood Way parking lot and we wiff this wonderful sweet smell. Oh man that smell, Its too good so i have to smoke a cig to get my stomach to stop yelling at me. I tell daniel, "Damn dude, Carl's JR smells of heaven right now...!" Nick looks at me and says, "Naw fool, its the bagel spot...!" and we all look to that direction and say slowly, "mmmmmm Bagels......!" We find out it opens at 5am which is about an hour away, and we ask ourselves...."should we lounge in this lot for an hour and masacre some fresh bagels....?" we all smile, "Heeelllll yeah....!" hahahahahaha. .so we stand by our cars and Bulls&*t for an hour about what bagels they have, and what would hit the spot. Nick brings up Pizza Bagels, its a toasted whole bagel with pizza sauce on top, and smothered with melted mozzarella....yuuuummmmyyyy....!!!! We couldnt stand it anymore, Its 4:55am and were practically staring at the workers inside.... hahahahaha. they give us the sign to come in and we turn into the, "After thanksgiving Macy's sale." We rush in and the sweet bagel smell punches me in the face. Just imagine, charlie and the chocolate factory in the candy country, but no candy. We're in a world of Bagels, cream cheese, coffees, juices and soda....... and whats that yummy kick...? its bacon baby, and God knows what bacon does to a man. By this time the helpers ask us what we'd like to order, she even says, "Youve guys have been up all night huh...?" and we just start crackin up, this was the perfect end to a long morning, day and night. We ask, "How much are the Pizza Bagels?" she says, "a dollar...!" and we are floored....! no way such a perfect bagel would be so cheap. i look at Daniel, he looks at Nick and we say, "We'll take 5...!" Daniel orders a breakfast bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese on an Onion bagel and it looks as wonderful as a chocolate river stirred by a sugar waterfall and oompa loompa's. Wow. (funny side crap..... while ordering the breakfast bagel, she asks Daniel what cheese he'd like and she offers the american and cheddar, he asks, "what color is the american?" "Yellow....?" and the Cheddar...?" Thats Yellow also...!" and she laughs....... hahahahahaha..... "OK, American...!" lol.) Every now and then we send out for bagels or someone will bring a bag of them to work. And it always seems to be from Western Bagel. There always fresh,warm and soft when they get to us. If you happen to go to their shop you'll find that they make a variety of bagels and sandwich's to just about everyone's liking. One of my favorites is their cheese bagel with lox(not the spread)tomatoes,onions(unless you have that all important face meeting,p- u!!!)and cucumbers. Even though the place gets busy the staff is pretty efficient and manage to get to everyone in a timely manner. The place stay's pretty clean,and if you ever need a table cleaned off, one of the friendly staff members will be more then happy to clear it for you. Although,there have been times I've cleared my own table just because I didn't want to ruin their groove and stop production just for me...but that's just me,not afraid to jump in there and do it myself.. I've never been to another location so I can't speak for them,but if you find yourself in Burbank near the corner of Magnolia and Verdugo,stop by and have a bagel. I think you'll enjoy it. read more

So disappointed... spend 16 bucks on two bagels and two coffees.. first order.. husband ordered Egg a la cart it was just plainer nothing great about it probably would had liked it better if it had cream cheese nope just bagel , egg and a piece of cold ham. Second order... everything cheese bagel with cream cheese and ham. I mean how hard is that right? bagel was not cold but not warm either. he just added cream cheese and threw a piece of cold ham in it. I was really craving a bagel for breakfast and happened to be in the area so I yelped a few places and came across this place. I was extremely happy to see it was in a big shopping center so no worry to find parking. I wish places in Hollywood had easy parking like this place! Anyway, we got a everything bagel with cream cheese and tomato and the cheese bagel with turkey, egg, and cheese. I wasn't expecting anything special because the bagels kind of looked dry in the display section. I was actually surprised that it was really good. My bagel ( the cream cheese and tomato ) was so flavorful and it was all toasty and warm and the cold hard tomato was an amazing addition to it. I think this may be one of my favorite bagel places ever. I came here early in the morning and got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a cinnamon crunch bagel, a small vanilla hazelnut coffee, and a chocolate chip danish. Everything was incredibly delicious and pretty affordable too in my opinion. The restaurant is pretty medium sized in terms of seating. The employees were super nice and moved pretty quick to get people their food/drinks. Apparently the restaurant is a chain, but it still has a strong personal feel to it. I can't wait to come back to LA to try more of their stuff. Everything looks so good. Can't recommend enough of you're in the mood for breakfast food. read more

Ordered bagels for colleagues in my office. Bagels are soft and price is reasonable. $35 for 2 dozen + 2 cream cheese spreads. Taste and quality: Soft bagels. I think I prefer Noahs or Einstein bagels but this is not bad. I would consider ordering from here again. read more

Been going here for years and have finally decided never again. Their service and quality of add-ons is very uneven, depending on who is working and how they were instructed. For example, sometimes you get a healthy amount of cream cheese and salmon, sometimes skimpy on the salmon, sometimes too much cream cheese, etc. The last experience was a horror story. They literally forgot to add the salmon to a BAGEL WITH SALMON and forgot to add the turkey to a TURKEY BAGEL SANDWICH. So of the 3 sandwiches, 2 were wrong!! We ordered take out thru their own website. When we called to complain, manager said we had to go through Postmates to get refund. Postmates was never involved in this transaction. She said she couldn't do anything. So we finally complained to some Western Bagel headquarters. Finally, a different manager called the next day to refund our money. It's so sad that Burbank has only 2 bagel shops, neither of which are anything to write home about. So now this family is down to one bagel store. Shameful experience all the way around. read more

Stumbled on this place on my way to work and was happy with the reasonable prices and delish shmears. The everything bagel stood out as did the veggie spread.
