I smelled sewer gas coming from under my house. I called a large franchise plumber company, whose representative found a sewer line that split when an old repair failed. He took a photo of the damage, and it looked to me that it should be a fairly simple fix. However, this company attempted to convince me that this problem required a complete re-piping of my sewer system and quoted a 5-figure price for the job. I sought a second opinion. I found Western Rooter on Yelp, and noticed the high satisfaction score. I called and got a service tech out to my house a couple hours later. The Western Rooter tech examined the sewer line and recommended repairing the existing line, which seemed much more reasonable than what the other company proposed. The WR tech finished the job in about an hour and at a price much, much less than than the previous company. I'm sold on Western Rooter for all my future plumbing problems. read more

New review for Western Rooter, used them in 2014 for a drain cleanout but wanted to update after big storm hit LA. Western Rooter came out promptly to fix a broken sump pump and drain a basement with 16 inches of water. Pump truck came drained it all in 30 minutes. They also installed a new water heater and fixed a pipe while there. They also notice water pooling at the side of the house and cleared out the drainage line and clipped a root inside blocking it. Great job covering everything up before the work and cleaning up. Good communication every step of the way from the office to the people onsite. This review is for one particular job done by Alex and Daniel. Please note that I have been a loyal customer of Western Rooter for 10 years and generally find them to be quite good (4-5 stars). Upon installation of water softener on 7/21/25, we noticed a leak occurred during regeneration due to a faulty part. They said they'd get replacement part and install immediately upon receipt with the understanding that it had to be replaced within 28 days before regneration would occur again. I tried to be patient and didn't text Alex until 8/6, asking why it was taking so long. He said part had been shipped and would be soon. I texted again on 8/14 since there had been no word. This time I mentioned a bad review. Daniel called immediately - THE PART HADN'T EVEN BEEN ORDERED YET 3.5 WEEKS LATER! This meant that ALEX OUTRIGHT LIED TO ME about the part's being shipped already, and he didn't bother to order even after the 8/6 reminder. I just came back from a long vacation out of the country to a ton of household problems. One of them was my garbage disposal went out. I had to go back to work and didn't have the time to put a new one in myself. So I called Western and got a same day appointment with a 2 hour window ( unheard of these days). I was texted the employee's name and a picture of him before arrival. He was very professional and explained everything to me over the phone (I was at work and my family was there) He gave me a price for the new disposal and I quickly compared the prices to HD and Lowe's. An appliance repairman told me that my water pressure was waaaay too high which was causing my ice maker to malfunction. I needed a plumber! Fortunately Alberto H. was able to come over within an hour's notice to replace the faulty pressure regulator. Having the repair work done in a timely manner saved me from getting potentially serious damage. Alberto explained everything that needed to be done before replacing the valve, then showed me the excellent work he did.
