Great dive bar with many weekly drink specials. It is one of the go to's for a quit chill and drink. You can play darts or pool and not really crowded during the week after work hours. Service is quick and easy.

Hometown bar with a very solid following from local customers. Bartender was friendly and took excellent care of us. Many beer and liqour selections to choose from. Old school dive bar vibes.

    Westerwood is always doggo friendly.

Westerwood has held a place in my heart for about 13 years. This homey dive always feels like a welcoming spot. While I no longer live in the area, so you couldn't call me a regular anymore, I still love Westerwood. Here you can find friendly bartenders who feel like friends. A variety of draft beers, affordable liquor pricing, and a cooler of cans & bottles. It's very likely you'll be able to find something that hit the drink itch you might have. Over the years it's gotten brighter and cleaner inside but it's still that perfect homey drive. If you're in GSO looking for a bar to call home, don't skip over Westerwood. Currently (Sept 3rd 2023): Tuesday (9 pm - 12 am) and Friday (11 pm - 2 am) is Karaoke Wednesday (10 pm to 12 am) is trivia Thursday $4 any shot and free pool P.S. Dogs are welcome inside and out.

Westerwood Tavern is a great dive bar with a pool table and dart board, also pinball machine. Super cool bartenders. They also have good drink specials for every night of the week would definitely come back here. They also have giant Jenga and you can bring your dogs! Awesome

Reminds me of bars in NY....awesome!

Not bad for a dive bar at all. Cool bartender. Focused more on a young crowd. Outside seating.

We drank canned craft beer and shot pool in a very friendly environment. The service was excellent and the beers were cheap.

Mark, our server, carefully explained the gluten free options and inquired about the dangers of cross contamination. He is a friendly, helpful, and clearly experienced server. We opted to drink Bodega Shop Fruit Punch with 10mg THC, and a specially made Lemon Drop. Our meals were delicious: Smash Burger (no bun), Steak Sando, and the Buffy Chicken Sandwich. As we walked we noticed a table off of the bar that had 3 people and was a table for 8 we asked if we could sit with them they said fine. We let the host know he said I cannot give you a food menus... no explanation just that he couldn't or wouldn't. At this point we were turned off and thought about just leaving. A bar tender came over and handed us food menus pretty much as we sat down and asked if she could get us something to drink. We ordered drinks figuring we could see how things went and decide on staying or leaving. She was super quick and as we were looking through the menu we really wanted to eat here so we decided to just order. The food was so good the bar tender was very attentive and the food came quickly. The atmosphere inside was a standard sports bar with a seated room area next to the bar room area. The bar had a Malort face wall which iykyk and several tvs playing different sports. I cannot say enough on how good the food was the poutine, the burgers, the Mac and cheese all delicious! Disappointed with the interaction we had at the front some explanation of just a little curtesy does go a log way because we literally were just about to leave.

I was sharply reminded of home. And of good stiff drinks. Which brings me to Walker's. Metaphysically, that is. Because there's really never enough time in my crazy schedule to drive to Greensboro (incidentally, where my family lives and who I've only seen three times this year because of said schedule). My days at Walker's were many. And simpler. And boy, do I miss them. Had I known about life after grad school then, I would have appreciated the small-yet-reliable satisfaction that comes from being a regular at your neighborhood dive. The drinks are strong, and cheap. The jukebox has all the classics. The bar flies are a mix of funny, crazy, and kind -- but you know each of them by name. The bartender greets you like a friend. When the most of my troubles involved writing a paper on the use of viral marketing tactics employed by Snakes on a Plane, and nearly every other night meant a stop at Walker's with my roommate, it was almost an age of innocence in some ways. Here-here to the neighborhood watering hole!
