So we ended up here for a friend's bday party. We had planned to go to a neighboring restaurant but their wait was too long, as was the wait at another restaurant. So we went to Bar Louie, no wait! woo hoo (in the writing world this is called foreshadowing, dun dun dun). Sat down, was well attended to, even while we waited for others to arrive. Drinks were good, prices reasonable. Server was attentive (but only to the males at the table, oddly enough. The 3 females were never talked to by him! lol) We ordered the Loaded Tots and were very surprised at how good they were, I think that that the jalapeno slices should have been thinner but that is minimal. We decided to order a Bourbon BBQ burger for our entree. We were not in a hurry and that is good. Food was finally delivered and the fires and burger were barely warm, barely. In fact I have never had such a cold dish delivered. So I called the server's attention to it, he told me that he just watched them pull that burger from the line....hmmm. So I buried my finger in it and so no, this is cold. Please replace it. He comes come back in 3-4 minutes and I swear it was the same burger, and same barely warm fries. What? Doing my best to not let my face show my irritation, I asked the server to please bring a hot burger with hot fries, I deserve that since I am paying for it. On the 3rd try we got a hot meal, albeit now it was overcooked (well done, we had ordered medium). Ok, stuff happens. We ate, we enjoyed with the above stated limitations.....then we get the bill. After sending back a meal TWICE it is expected that one does not get charged for said poorly prepared meal, nope not this place, full charge for not doing their job correctly. We won't bother going there again, I will wait in line at the Yardhouse or State Forty Eight rather than be treated like "Let's see what we can slip past them!"... Now I know why there was no wait to get in, ha. read more

Little expensive, but this place is worth it! You have to get tater tots as your side, they are amazing. Service is good, but some of the staff could be a little friendlier. This is my top choice when going to westgate. read more

After sitting at the bar for 10 minutes, what appears to be a barback finally acknowledged our existence, only to have our drinks wrong and then disappear. We had very good customer service at bar Louie! The manager came to our table to let us know that the kitchen didn't cook our burgers right and he just wanted to let us know that he's going to make sure they were right before we got them. Was happy to have a new restaurant to choose from when visiting Westgate but wasn't impressed with Bar Louie. I had such high hopes. The food was average and not of a particularly high grade. Although there are some hit or miss items that would be worth a try. The service is very hit or miss and ranges from slightly friendly to outright rude depending on when you go. Tables may or may not be clean and you may or may not get hot food. Biggest draw here seems to be the bar and the hockey crowd after the games. read more

I love coming here, they always are the best service I've seen anywhere. They are the bar to go to for any occasion. I wouldn't pick any other bar if I had the choice. Every employee does their best and makes sure you have the best experience. And Taylor Pursley is an amazing bartender and en even more amazing person she takes care of business and also makes the experience worth it. They have a gentleman that is very quick, very loud, very talented. You can hear him talking on the other side of the bar!! He is the reason I got this app . To tell you all about him! The poster child of what a bartender should be imo. So if you're looking for a nice relaxing bar with good service I would recommend louie's... the takeaway for me would be to have other staff check in on other customers rather than only theirs. Not impressed at all! If the food wasn't ok, I would have given it 1 star. This place is in dire need of management attention. My wife and I went for lunch before an afternoon hockey game at Gila Arena. We got there well before it started getting REAL busy and it still took us 20 mins to get our drinks, which OBTW were WRONG! There appeared to be no supervision in the entire place. As they got busier a line formed at the main entrance (I presume 'main' only because they have another unattended entrance on the other side of the place) we watched waitstaff close out checks with no interaction with the waiting line. Finally a guy showed up in a collared shirt looking like he might have some clue what was going on. He might have had a clue, but wasn't there long enough to have helped move things along. We watched a party of 6 come in and after a 25 minute wait from being seated, walk out with no restaurant staff ever coming by. Add our server to the clueless list. She came by twice after we ordered and said "I saw your order and it'll be out next". Did you catch the 'twice' she said that. 45 minutes in the place and our food arrives. When we were half-finished with our food we asked for our check, figuring it would take a while to get it based on how their observed prior 'timely' performance. She was 'Johnny-on-the Spot' with the bill. Unfortunately, I gave her my debit card and she paraded around to at least two more tables (lost sight of her after 2) before going to the register to close me out. In these days of ID fraud, I don't like the idea of my card taking roadtrips around the venue! The most disappointing thing about Bar Louie...we had an absolutely wonderful dining experience before the hockey game two nites before at another restaurant in the district and thought we'd try someplace else to eat. Bad on us...there won't be another chance for these guys with so many other options out there. read more

Had to kill a few hours before my flight home, dropped into Bar Louie to kill some time and enjoyed a few beers. Food was good, I had the wings. The beers were delish. Best part was the staff. They were all fun, personable, and down to earth. When you go, ask for Blake- great guy behind bar. Knows his beers and keeps the drinks coming - he'll take good care of you. read more

Update!! Was messaged on YELP to message the manager via Facebook to address the below complaint. Messaged her two days after this review. Guess what, no response. Looking at their page, they just went down and found the reviews for that day, messaged everyone who left a bad review to make Bar Louie look responsive, then moved the bad reviews to below better reviews. They were just bad before, now they appear manipulative, if not actively managing their business in bad faith. Atrocious. Horrible. Bleedingly slow. Excuses. Manager and four servers incompetent. Ass hanging out of the servers shorts...appetizer? No, disgusting and sloppy. All open seating. But no server support. We had to track down a server, who basically said "huh? Is this my section." (*adjust shorts") manager came over, basically did his version of a Scooby Doo impression, and said, welp, it's busy, I have two hour ticket times, it is what it is. What a joke. Other locations are on point. This was total a joke. Here was the timeline, sat, 15 min no server, at 20 min went to get our own drinks at the bar, at 30 min ordered appetizers and drinks, at 45 minutes (without receiving our server drinks) we got out second round from the bar, at an hour, we started wondering where the eff our server was (who we found tending to her ONE other table...(she's ambitious)), at 1:15 (still no food) start freaking the eff out, 1:30 in, complain to server and says, tee hee *adjust shorts, I'll tell the manager, 1;45 food arrives. 2:00, manager LEAVES THE BUILDING! The only time i've been to Bar Louie has been on Sundays for Brunch. They are usually really really slow on Sundays. So you would think service would be a bit better. Every time I have eaten here its never been great. The food is okay.... last time I ordered the chicken tacos and everything on the plate was cold. The bloody marys are good! Servers aren't really that great or accommodating to their tables. Too bad because it could be a cool joint for brunch if they spiced it up a little. read more

We came with a large party (9 people which I understand can be more challenging) and never received something as simple as water. We ordered, after a significant wait, (on a slow Tuesday night btw) and then the orders came out at different times with 3 orders never arriving. The management created excuses about technology and never came over to offer a simply apology. The way this was handled was as immature as my lead in to this review. Unless your goal is to complain and get a discounted meal for poor service (which will be probable with this restaurant), save your appetite for a restaurant with a better experience. read more

OK I get it was busy for a comedy show at the arena but you think being in that area of games and events they knew that. Our food took 50min, no joke. We asked our server to check for our apps ONLY after 30 min and her response is what annoyed me the most and hence the review. She says its really busy and how long was it, oh only 30, should be like 45 min at least. At 45 min she realized we still didn't have anything and went back and it appeared. Funny she REFUSED to check before. Really? Not to mention first drink was awful, asked for simple syrup to help it. Then needed to order another, we paid for it, which is fine but not even asked about. Plus paying the bill took forever and people wanted our seat! So bad service, bad drinks, food too long. Don't waste your time or money. We ordered our first drink and appetizer, it took about 20 minutes to get that. We then ordered a second drink, 2 beers, that took another 20 minutes. When we got those drinks we ordered our food and 2 drinks to go with dinner. After sitting there for about 45 minutes for our food, we told the server to cancel our order. The manager didn't even come speak to us to find out why we were cancelling the order. We will never go back! Since, you are making me select a star it will be 1, but it should be 0!! read more

It's unfortunate when I love a places food but the service is so poor that it affects 1) how I feel about the restaurant and 2) the frequency of my visits. So let's start with the pros: -upper scale bar food (pretzals with sweet dipping butter, amaaaazing calamari) -indoor/outdoor seating with heaters -seat yourself and now the cons: -looooong wait for food/drinks -seat yourself (also a con as well as a pro because sometimes waiters don't notice you) -some outdoor seats aren't heated well enough by the heaters In the times we have went we have waited a massive amount of time for one appetizer, another time we waited at least 20 minutes for a drink and for them to even take our food order. The outside seats can be great or terribly cold depending on where the table is placed and the wind. That hasn't knocked down stars for me, it was simply the wait time. We go to Westgate all the time and food/bar hop and the other restaurants do not have that problem with under staffing. The very last time we went and we had told the waitress that 20 minutes was rather long to wait for ONE drink, she said it was a bartender in training. I feel like Saturday night at peak time would be when they would have a "seasoned" bartender and the training bartender "assisting" not RUNNING the bar but maybe the waitress was just making an excuse. Either way we will be back because of the awesome food but I've come to expect a massive wait for service. read more

I had high hopes for interesting restaurants at Westgate but overall they've been pretty mediocre. Bar Louie might be better than the average there but that bar was set pretty low. We wandered in here one evening for a drink and a snack. It was good food, but a bit on the pricey side for what it was. They said they have a scratch kitchen and I don't doubt it, but a bit more creativity would have been nice. We had fish and chips, figuring that that's always a good way to test a new place. These were pretty good fish and chips but nothing that really set them apart from the usual.
