I didn't want to bother him, but sometimes the other people that stayed there would have requests so I'd txt msg him at all hours. James is really quick to find solutions or get you what you need. The staff was super sweet. The pictures honestly didn't even do justice to how beautiful the building and grounds were. The grounds were very clean, and the outside seating/pet area was adorable. Our room was beyond expectations. First, I walked around our room barefoot the whole time and didn't feel like I needed to scrub my feet before putting shoes on. It was very spacious. Everything (curtains, rods, lamps) matched. There were lots of outlets. The private outdoor seating area was great. The beds were wonderful. Not too firm, but the super soft bedding (which also smelled really good) made for a great nights sleep. We had plenty of pillows, which were also comfortable and not lumpy like a lot of hotels. We had more than enough towels. We also had a fan on top of the ac, which was a wonderful surprise! The room itself was very clean, and not covered in hidden dust/dirt. Don't believe your GPS when trying to find this place. It will get you close but you will have to rely on your traveling experience to finally land in the parking lot. The staff was friendly and very helpful when we checked in. Parking was plentiful and they even had a larger space for my truck. You gotta like that! The room was older, and hasn't kept up with the times. My room was definitely ready for an update. But it was clean, it didn't smell, had a coffee pot and microwave, and a small fridge. Place says pet friendly. I booked a room when they asked me if I had pets. I told them I had two service dogs, and they said they don't allow them in that room, i told them I would call them back and find out what we wanted to do canceled the reservation when I called them back 4 minutes later. Just moved to pollock across the street from this place. I have family that will visit me periodically so thought I'd check this place out along with the best western. My mother is older and has difficulty walking so wanted to see how accessible it was. I passed it on my morning dog walk with my leashed animal to take a quick gander. All of a sudden two pit bulls came out of nowhere. They seemed friendly but I didn't want to chance it so started to exit and he property and the pit bulls started to go away. I was like 3 seconds from being on the main road when a lady who I assume is the owner came running at me yelling things I could barely understand. Her husband was standing sheepishly behind her. Problem was with her running toward me it brought her 2 dogs back into the picture which made things pretty chaotic. She was yelling at me asking why I was on the property and I told her was looking to see if it would be appropriate for my family to stay since I just moved here and she just kept yelling at me telling me I cannot do that. Anyways. I just left. Would jot recommend staying here. Not only are the owners rude. But they let their pit bulls roam around. Not sure how comfortable I'd be with that. The front desk lady walked herself into our room without a mask exactly at 11 o'clock in the morning, started touching our things, and insisted that we leave immediately. I really enjoyed staying here the last week or so. The rooms are very large with large bathrooms, complimentary coffee, and a deck. It made it very easy because it was just cash transactions only I believe they charged $89/night. However, dont get your hopes too high. There are some things that could be worked on and it's kind of dated. Like one room had an alarm clock and the other didn't for some reason. Beds were comfortable as well. For Pollock Pines I was impressed with this hotel and found it really comfortable and cozy. I wish I had thought to take pictures The people in the office were pleasant too. We're checking out in an hour and I'm absolutely shocked by this place. Got here yesterday and first thing the lady at the reception tells me that the room I reserved (king size bed) is unavailable. Then, that she hopes it's ok that they didn't shampoo the carpets because their workers were staying there for a while. Well, we stayed anyway because there were no other available places. This morning we came to ask if there is a public restroom and tell them that our got clogged. She told us to fix it ourselves because "it was working when we got there", asking me what exactly we did there (!!!). Consumer Beware!!!!! We made a reservation at this hotel 3 weeks ago, we drove 7 hours arriving at 8:30 PM.As we pulled into the parking lot we observed a tailgate party going on in the parking lot.There were two adult men throwing a football in the parking lot around the Guest's cars.They were blasting a car stereo. We went to the office to check in and I explained to the Owner that I prefer to be placed in a room farthest away from those people. We typically pay cash for our hotel stays, I mentioned to my Wife that we should consider paying with a credit card because we didn't feel comfortable with what was happening at the hotel. The Owners Wife stated that they will not accept Our Credit Card and demanded cash. The Owner stated that we will not be happy here and that they are going to cancel our reservation. His wife tried to minimized what was happening in the parking lot by saying that they we're just celebrating the holiday . It appeared to us that they both could care less about the other guests staying there. This situation created a huge hardship, We had no other place to stay and forced us to pay full retail rates on short notice. After telling Our story to Locals, we discovered that this hotel has gone downhill because the Owners allow Local Tweakers to live there. read more

Staying here because the power has been out where I live for two days and it's freezing. I am impressed by the large room. It is clean with plenty of toiletry amenities. Also there is a microwave, fridge and coffee pot with coffee. Two sink areas with one outside of the toilet, shower area. The WiFi password is right by the phone so you don't have to go on a scavenger hunt to find it. I was able to have my dog stay, with an extra charge of only 10 bucks. Why I took off a star is because the idiots staying above me sound like a herd of buffalo stomping around. I don't know if that is due to no insulation between floors or just two tons of fun above me. Ugh read more

We were there only because our car had broken down and they made no effort to be helpful, gave us a taxi number that was years out of date, gave me a wash cloth when I asked for an extra towel, and all but threatened my family to get out of the room at exactly 11 even when my husband explained I was out getting a rental car so we could get home after an ordeal of a day. She kicked my husband, kids and dog out to stand on the side of the road until I returned. I was there less than an hour after the check out, driving hard the whole way knowing they were stuck outside. Hospitality should be a characteristic of a person who runs a hotel. Good Budget Hotel that Allows Pets My husband and I were doing some hiking and wine tasting in the Placerville area and needed a hotel. The Westhaven Inn was one of the only options in the area that allowed pets and definitely the least expensive. This hotel is a little run down on the outside and no-frills, but the rooms are large with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, eating area, cable tv, and even a private back patio. The back patio was great for hanging out on and provided a space for our dog to enjoy the outdoors. The man at the check-in counter was very nice, as several other reviews have mentioned. There's also a very conveniently-located restaurant next door we walked to for dinner named Sportman's Hall that had good food and service. The noise from the freeway and highway was noticeable but it was more like background noise and didn't bother us. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. read more

Along the dark highway, we needed to find someplace to rest our heads, after reading a sign for a Best Western off the freeway but end up coming across Westhaven Inn in the dark and quiet streets. We came across a very clean establishment with large rooms and a small continental breakfast. The owners have a simple lawn area for picnicking with tables and chairs. Free wifi and friendly mangers running the place, you can ask for much more. The cherry on top would be the quiet, shy, but adorable dog that helps the owners out at the front desk. We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity. read more

Sort of a bare bones place. On the plus side, rooms are large and have a lot of furniture so you can sit at a table or a desk, and there are two sinks. Interesting thrift store on other side of street: U-turn for Christ. There is also a popular restaurant in walking distance. On the other side, No breakfast of any sort Wi-fi weak. rooms have not been updated for a long time. Rather dirty carpet. Old cathode ray televisions, and the cable signal only fills in the middle part of the tv, so it is a pretty small image you get to see. One of the two buildings is fairly close to US 50, so there is road noise. Not too bad, but you notice it. But it is a budget hotel, so one should not expect too much, so I will go for three stars. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This is one of the most unprofessional hotels I have EVER been to! I DO NOT recommend staying here at this hotel. After having car trouble at 11:00 pm I had to get an emergency hotel at Westhaven Inn, I was a paying customer and they had complained I had taken a bath after being out in the freezing snow most the night. Plus there was unidentified hair in the tub. When I had to check out the next morning at 11:15 this women stormed into my room invading my privacy. And started going off because she believed we were taking to long plus our clock in the room wasn't working. Then she threatened to call the cops on us for not being out of the hotel when I was in the restroom gathering my belongings as fast as possible. this place is a dump and unsanitary. Stains on carpet, windows looked like that haven't been cleaned in months. after trying to hurry and get my belongings I went to the "lobby"of the hotel to get better organized and she told me I couldn't keep my stuff or myself inside the office because she WANTED US OUT! This woman was so rude. I tried explaining to her we were getting a ride to an auto body shop where our car was because of our car troubles the night before and she told me that wasn't her problem. Stayed here for one night. Loved the room. The hotel was cute from the outside. Room was large, had mini fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee pot. Loved the windows and balcony. Took one star off because there were a few things that needed fixing. Patch on the wall in the bathroom, missing tile. Was a non smoking room but i could kinda smell smoke. I could tell though that there was pride of ownership and things were being worked on. I would absolutely stay here again, and have no doubt that my next review will have five stars. read more

We live in area and needed a hotel for out of town relatives to stay, I drive by daily and thought this would be perfect location. We stopped by and drove around back of property and were shocked to find garbage bin ovetflowing looked like a health issue a tv thrown out on side of driveway, beer cans strewn about and vehicles that don't look like they're even in running condition!
