Stay away from this Ace Hardware, couldn't care less about their customers. They come up with any excuse to not allow returns. I bought an $800 electric lawn mower and the first time using it I found the self propulsion was defective. I brought it back to the store within 2 weeks of purchase and was told that because it was used I can't exchange it. I said, "of course it is used, how else could I have found out it was defective." Then they said they wanted to take it in the back of store and test it out. I agreed. 40 minutes later the manager came back and said the machine and box is covered in oil and so it wasn't returnable. I told them it can't be covered in oil it is an electric mower and they don't use oil. Then he said, exactly you must have put oil in it. I adamately denied this accusation and they then said well we won't exchange it and I would have to go through the manufacturer. When I got home I inspected the machine and the box and there was no oil. So clearly they are too lazy to take care of their customers because they don't want to do the paperwork to send it back to the manufacturer as defective. read more

This store has had a name change; it's now called Westlake ACE Hardware and may be under new ownership or management, as well. It's a great, old-time hardware store. While it's not very big, it always seems to have what we need, whether it's packing paper, a Swiffer Wet Jet mop or replacement parts for a broken lamp. The store is neat and clean, employees are friendly and helpful and they play fun oldies music like Spanky and Our Gang, The Mamas and The Papas or The Zombies. Maybe they're trying to appeal to the Flower Children of the Bridle Trails neighborhood. They do have a lot of gardening supplies, by the way, along with paint, kitchen gadgets and much more. read more

This is not the place to buy paint. I brought in a can of Ace paint with custom color label and asked them to match it with a new can .To make a log story short, after about 20 minutes of waiting the paint guy and his supervisor told me something was amiss with the computer and to come back tomorrow. Ok I understand problems happen but then I asked can you get me a quart of primer with a gray tint. I was told they do not have any gray tinted primer in stock , although I know it is available at home depot. Ok then I asked can you just take a can of the white primer and add a gray tint. I thought this a reasonable request as I've had paint stores do this for me in the past. However I was told that was not an option. My whole experience illustrates that this not a competent operation when it come to purchasing paint products. read more

Not a bad local hardware store nestled in bridle trails. You can practically find most gardening appliances here. I was looking for chainsaw oil and sure enough they had it. I was glad that I didn't have to drive all the way out to Bellevue to find this. I also found gardening compost bags that were fairly priced. Every time I pass by here, I see pretty flowers with a good sale price. Maybe one day I will get a pot of flowers. I just don't have a green thumb so I am afraid the money that I put towards gardening would be wasted. They have chicken and horse feed here. read more

It's so convenient coming here for small items for our home repair than driving all the way to Bellevue to Home Depot It's stocked pretty well and this is the only place I will come to get keys made. I used to shop there frequently. Usually good service. I've had people offer to help out if I'm just standing there looking confused. Not the greatest deals, but a big selection for such a small store and a surprisingly decent pet section. For me it's also extremely convenient, since I live in Bridle Trails and do my grocery shopping in that shopping center. It's the one terrible experience that really stands out, of course. This Christmas my significant other and I bought several Christmas ornaments made of glass at the height of the holiday rush. They were put into the bag unwrapped, and when we got home one of the $4 icicle ornaments had the tip broken off. When we brought it back in a week later and asked if we could exchange it for another ornament we were basically accused of lying about it. We had the receipt and even the bag full of glitter from the ornaments that we originally got the ornament in, but we were treated like we were trying to rip off the store or something. Now if there was some part of the return policy that we hadn't followed then by all means enforce it, but $4 is not enough money to be worth having to sit there and get a lecture from some lady behind the counter about how shady our request seems to her. Needless to say I'm left with an overall negative impression. read more

I buy chicken feed here. And any incidentals that I need for a repair when I'm in a hurry. Cashiers have always been friendly. It's a small-ish shop, so you may wait in line for a couple of minutes during busier times. It's a medium-sized store, so they don't have everything you could imagine, but I really like having a hardware & feed store so close by. read more

If you're looking for great customer service, this is NOT the store to go to. The old ACE Hardware always had someone just inside the door asking if you needed help finding anything. No longer. This newer store has people working there who are not helpful and definitely not friendly. I recently tried to exchange damaged goods I had just purchased that week and was made to feel like it was my fault that the product was damaged! We find the employees working there consistently brusk and rude. They make it clear we're inconveniencing them. Next time we'll go to Home Depot. read more

Prices here are on par or cheaper than Amazon. Support the local hardware store because you'll miss them if they're gone. And in fact when the previous ACE in the same location closed, I truly did miss them. My boys sure did. Home Depot can be and often is a disaster to find smaller tools and parts. There are many things you can find here you can't find at Hone Depot. People are overall helpful and friendly. I've had many go above and beyond to help me find an obscure part, give recommendations on drip irrigation, or help me tap new threads for a stripped part. A bad experience by an EMPLOYEE of a business (one who is paid probably much less than you, and doing their best to make a living), a long lasting bad review should not make. Seems like people are just complaining about an episode or a particular person and not a systemic issue with this shop. My experience has been if someone can't help you, you, they can find someone who can. Have and will continue to shop at Town Center Hardware preferentially. read more

If you buy paint from this store, beware. Most paint stores will re-shake paint that has been purchased from their establishment. Not this store, they are not customer friendly. It's worth the drive to Sherman Moore or Home Depot when it comes to paint. I can't understand all the bad reviews. This place is amazing. I came to the old ace for a decade and now the new ace for two years. This new one is much nicer and has a great product selection. I think they have a few less parts I need but that was a smart business decision. Everyone is always helpful. I honestly can say I've never had a bad experience. I come here instead of Home Depot. Home Depot is a disaster if you just want to get in and out. Going there reduces my quality of life dramatically. I find the Ace to be peaceful and fun to browse. I would probably move if these guys ever closed. I used to think they were more expensive than amazon or Home Depot but on most things they are very close if not the same. We just bought a place in the neighborhood and the previous owner left us with a bunch of fluorescent light which we replaced with LED light. The town center ACE is listed as place to bring the tubes for recycling on the redmond.gov website. They told us that as per store policy they only take ten per person because some contractors take advantage of then. My wife said, no problem 10 for her and 7 for me. Even another customer in the store asked to assist. But they said no, we have to come back again another day. The redmond government didn't say anything about a limit and I'm surprised because we clearly are not contractors. Usually I would expect that it should be easy to do the right thing but it seems not so here. read more

I find it hard to believe that there is only one review for this establishment. I have been coming here since the reopening the year before, so this review has been long over due. I worked nearby and I would stop by on my way home to grab a few things.Every time I went in I was greeted and to a point that the staff knew my name. There was one instance my sister and I were looking for a toolbox for our dad as a birthday gift. The one I was specifically were looking for they did not carry. The staff had offered to order and have it delivered which in instead we ended up buying they had on hand. About two week later I ended up returning it unfortunately due we ended up getting a different one for him instead. The return was easy we had the receipt, I simply said my sister ended up finding a different one. All in all everytime I go in the staff is always accommodating, I have had no problems even got plant care advice for my plants after I had purchased them. I still go in when I need to find some items that I know I do not want to drive all the way to Home Depot for. read more

I have been a shopper here for years and under the new owners the customer service has gone downhill. Staff are either super young happy and unhelpful and the older employees are rude and unhelpful. It's no wonder the current store appears to be way slower now than with the old owners. Had a particularly poor experience with Renee in paint. Need to drive to Home Depot more often. read more

Fantastic service, the employees truly care about their customer's success with their projects and with saving them money. I went in with a painted knob to get some matching paint. Rene showed me that my convex knob would not achieve consistent results from their color scanner. She scanned it three times and came up with three notably different results. She could have fobbed me off with paint that would not match but she was looking out for me. She had me find a flat example from which to scan. She wound up staying 40 minutes after her shift was over to make sure I got the Right paint! She even talked me into a less expensive option as it was the best for my purpose. I could not be happier. On an other occasion, I dealt with Courtney. A very knowledgeable, articulate, cheerful and efficient lady that straightened me out on some fastener issues. She also saved me money, pointed me to the Right product, saved me some grief, taught me some new tricks and was very pleasant. For truly caring, convenient, neighborhood hardware needs, you can't go wrong with the Ace at Bridal Trails. Town Center Hardware is it's official name. Get to know it.
