He suggested the snail salad, which at first I was hesitant because ive never tried that, but didnt want to pass the opportunity. Bill was so nice and heated my food for me. I sat down in the deli to enjoy what I came for and I tried the snail salad first. It was so delicious with a lot of flavor. Reminded me of my mom's cole slaw but with snails. Next I tried the clam chowder and that was the best ive ever had. It was so delicious and milky. Lastly I tried the stuffies and they had a really good taste that ive never had before. It reminded me of stuffed crabs a little but the clam flavor was distinct. Im glad I made the trip from Storrs, CT to experience these foods.

To the point that I was extremely unprepared for how much better the lobster is from Sakonnet Lobster. Seems they keep sea water pumped in from waters just off the point circulating through their tanks. Well that appears to keep the lobsters very happy. Just prepared a couple that I picked up today and they were unbelievable. So much so that I'm going back for more next week! Family run, very rustic shop full of character and a resident mascot named Olive who was super sweet. And if I ever have to mail order lobster again I know where I'm getting them from.

We called in to ask what the situation is and you can tell English isn't their first language so communication was very difficult. We explained to them our situation and they kept on trying to explain to us what happened and we kept trying to confirm what is going on but the answer kept changing. Ridiculous, right? Right. We've had halibut, tuna, swordfish, fluke, scallops and even sapper from their icy stand at the local farmers' market. The inform you about what you're buying, are more than happy to help you select your fish and then make sure to pack it up nice and cold for the journey home. What I really love is their mission: local fishermen who practice sustainability so our waters continue to yield such a beautiful bounty. So, there you have it: fresh-caught, local seafood that is incredibly delicious and mindfully procured. You can order from them online, find them at farmers' markets or you can create a special agreement with them akin to a CSA (they call it a CFA). This is what I plan to do once the farmers' markets shut down for the season so I can get the goods all year 'round.

They have homemade coleslaw that accompany many of the dishes and I highly recommend that too. The staff is always great, especially considering that most of them are part-time and working a summer job. They carry soda from a local soda company, which is awesome as they support all local businesses, including breweries. The drinks are a little pricey, but aligned with other places that are open seasonally around the area. They have an extensive dessert menu with quite a few homemade desserts.
