Rating: 3.8 Stopped…read moreby this place for dinner after visiting IKEA. Looks like typical cajun boiled seafood place. Parking lot available at the plaza. Inside is designed with bunch of boards with drawings and comments from previous customers. Place was somewhat busy with most seats filled when we got there. We were seated right away and given menu to order. We ordered some seafood boil to share. We got 2lb shrimp, 1lb snow crab, 1lb clam and side of cajun rice and garlic noodle. Food came out within few minutes. Garlic noodle and cajun were decent. The cajun rice was kind of stuck together and not mixed well. Would have liked more ingredients and flavor they used for seafood boil. Seafood boil was pretty good. We got one bug bag with just cajun sauce and 1 shrimp with house sauce. They put a lot more spice on larger bag so they had a lot kore flavor where smaller bag din't have too much flavor and was watered down. Even so overall the seafood was good. Little bit of de shelling and messy but thats usually the case for seafood boil. I like to mix some of the seafood juice onto garlic noodle/cajun rice to add more flavors. Service was good and waitress was very attentive. The place was very cold as it was cold outside and probably not well insulated. It ended up cooling our food while we were rating which was a bummer. Overall it's a solid cajun seafood boil place. But nothing really stood out compared to others that I had. I would recommend if you are around the area and craving for cajun seafood boil but there are better places out there.

Worst crab boil I have ever had in my life! As someone who has a grasp on culinary affectation AND…read moreknows Lowcountry cuisine on account of my upbringing... No. Being located in Connecticut versus New Orleans, Georgia, Florida or Maryland does not give you a hall pass to sell over-priced seafood that is not up to edible standards/fresh. No crab seasoning dusting AT ALL. Crab was freezer burned with grit on the shell. I got the special sauce + the hottest level. Red water. So diluted and devoid of flavor. The "boil" was literally the consistency of water. That's not a boil. They likely have pots of unseasoned water that they ladle in the bag post steaming. So bland, zero love and not at all authentic. Also-- small russet potatoes were not cleaned prior to being cooked whole and are rigid/raw in the center. Over-cooked shrimp. Boil base has ZERO flavor and likely just MSG + coloring. Disrespectful. Wrong potatoes, wrong process, wrong chef, wrong seasonings, aged crab, wrong everything. My meal was 'to go'. If dined in?! Absolutely not. Nope. I would have left it on the table! Trust me-- I'm calling my bank and if they want to FaceTime the food in the trash... fine by me. I can't eat this. There is dirt in the sauce and all of the elements because they did not clean the crab, shrimp + potatoes. There were two rotten potatoes in my bag and freezer burned snow crab clusters... disgusting. Hit "The Boil" in NYC, "Juicy Crab" in MD-- even "Hook & Reel" in Orange, CT. That's where you get real Cajun flavor profiles and actual spice! This restaurant has zero business serving seafood boils. Really, really subpar.

Even though the name (Kawa) and menu have changed a bit over time, the heart of this place has never changed--and that's what keeps us coming back. One thing that truly stands out is that this is a family‑owned restaurant, and you can feel the care, pride, and love they put into their food and service. It adds a level of warmth and authenticity that you just don't get everywhere. Our group ordered a wide range of dishes, and not a single plate was left with food on it. Several guests tried the special fried rice, while one had the chicken fried rice. Everyone loved their meals so much that I even ordered an extra fried rice to take home. We also enjoyed a great selection of sushi, including a few rolls we had never tried before. Their sushi roll prices are the best in the area, yet the quality remains consistently excellent. The sashimi we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and did not disappoint. One guest ordered the noodles with shrimp and said it was the best they'd ever had. To top it off, the restaurant has a surprisingly wide variety of Asian beers at very reasonable prices. The beers we tried were a big hit with the group and paired perfectly with the food. The service was another highlight of the night. Our waiter was wonderful--attentive, friendly, patient, and on top of everything our large party needed. Managing a group of 14 isn't easy, but he handled it flawlessly and made us feel well cared for. My fiancé asked him a lot of questions on some of dishes and he was very knowledgeable. After more than a decade of visiting, this birthday dinner reminded me exactly why this place has remained one of our family favorites. Delicious food, great prices, warm service, and the heart of a family‑owned business that truly values what they do. Highly recommend for both special occasions and everyday meals. There is plenty of parking for a big party and lots of space inside. They were packed and it was 5 days before Christmas.

Amongst the many places we searched this was where we wanted to go first. We got here around 1 pm and there was a good amount of seating available. The New Orleans inspired theme and music made this place such a good vibe to eat at. We had the gumbo, fish and chips, and beignets to share. The gumbo was a first time for us and it was extremely tasty, the mix of soft and savory chicken with a spicy soft yet tender pork sausage mixed with rice was amazing. The fish and chips were great as well but having the beignets at the end was truly the best finish to this fine experience.

Pictured and consumed is the Tajin Tango - El Jimador Tequilla, guave, lime and orange - highly recommend I wish I could say the same about the meal. First, the good... my dinner partner had the shrimp and grits and enjoyed the meal. Okay, that was the good! For me, I ordered the French Quarter burger with onion rings. The burger was lacking flavor. It was supposed to be dusted with creole, which could not be detected. The onions on the burger were way over cooked and had zero flavor. The scallion aioli saved the burger to add some flavor. The onion rings were overly greasy and most of them were soggy. I will chalk my experience as a bad night for the French Quarter, but I weighed out my dinner mates meal, with a good drink, and a bad meal to give them three stars.

First off: the food was outstanding. The kind of meal where everyone at the table were all raving about their food. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and fast considering the size of our group. Second: the staff deserves a medal. Not only were they friendly and efficient, but they also went above and beyond splitting checks for all 11 people individually without making us feel like we'd committed a felony. Anyone who has ever dined with a large group knows this alone is a five-star act of heroism. The ambiance was fun, energetic, and just the right amount of spunky. It felt lively without being overwhelming, the kind of place where you immediately relax and accidentally stay longer than planned. And finally, the soundtrack. Whoever was running the music understood the assignment. Absolute bangers all night. At one point I genuinely wasn't sure whether I was there for dinner or about to break out into dance. Fantastic food, great vibes, awesome service, and a team that clearly knows how to handle groups without breaking a sweat. Would absolutely come back.
