Did not need a reservation, but arrive early to avoid the rush on weekends. South of the Border -- 5/5, their southern version of eggs benedict was perfect for this Texan! A toasted masa bun replaces the classic English muffin, topped with either chorizo (Yes!) or pulled pork, poached egg, avocado, pico de Gallo, and Bernaise sauce instead of Hollaindaise. Served with a side of hash browns. 10 out of 10 would recommend! Classic French Toast -- 4/5, very good French toast. A classic breakfast dish! Dirty Biscuits & Gravy -- 4/5, perfectly fluffy biscuits smothered in a country gravy. Comes with a side of breakfast meat. Green Chili (side) -- 5/5, SO SURPRISED by how delicious their green chili was. We were tempted to bring a large bowl back to take home. Perfectly spiced with stewed tomatoes and green chilis. Pro Tip: Get a side of green chili to spoon over your hash browns, you will be in Heaven! Kid's Pancakes come in the shape of Mickey Mouse! They also have crayons and coloring for the little ones. While leaving Vail, my friends and I were looking for a quick cafe to grab breakfast before getting on the road, and to our surprise we found this amazing spot with fantastic food and a lot of it for a really great price! Everything on the menu sounded so tasty, so we ordered both food and drinks. The Bloody Mary came out as big as my head, along with a "beer side car" which was an extra taster sized glass of beer on the side. I had trouble deciding between the spicy and bacon vodkas for the drink, so the waitress was kind enough to mix both for me. We had a large party and she did an excellent job getting everyone's orders correct and bringing out all of the food and drinks together. I had to add the bison to my omelette - we're in Colorado, so why not? It was absolutely delicious. Very filling, and surprisingly for all the food and drinks we ordered, the bill was much lower than I anticipated. Everyone at the table also seemed to enjoy their dishes, and the menu has a pretty large selection. I'd recommend stopping here for brunch to anyone in the area! read more

I got the Chicken Fried Steak. it was super crispy just how I like it! I've had the eggs benedict in the past here and they're full of flavor and they do the egg perfectly. Super excited to check this place out - great reviews and the menu was mouth watering. Actual experience was underwhelming and disappointing. It is located in the Hilton hotel so that should have been a sign. Service was very slow. We acknowledge that some restaurants are struggling a bit with COVID. We arrived and were put on a wait list in spite of multiple tables being open outside (where we requested to sit). Our entire lunch experience was over an hour because we had to wait almost 45 minutes for food after ordering. We were seated at 12:30 on a Monday. Overall the place was pretty quiet with multiple tables open. Maybe we somehow got caught between the breakfast and lunch shifts? Food was meh. Chicken and butternut squash salad had dressing that was mostly oil - like they forgot to shake it. The salad was pretty flavorless. The Denver omelet looked more like scrambled eggs with very little structure and large chunks of some vegetables and small diced of others. Blueberry waffle seemed fine but my teens stomach began hurting almost immediately afterward. They do have outdoor seating and used a text based wait system. The butternut squash hummus was pretty good, a little on the thick and dry side but the pomegranate seeds were a nice touch. 2 stars for that. read more

Our server, Kevin, made sure our drinks were always filled and we were happy with our food. He even divulged that It was his first day!!! Great work! This is my second time dining here. Still inattentive, indifferent service and below average food. Things forgotten both times in the order. This time, my five year olds berry oatmeal. ($12) Our meals came, hers did not and came out ten minutes later. When we sat down, my friend and I asked the server (with a tiny mustache)for separate checks. When the bill came, it was not separate. We kindly asked again and he actually told us he could not split the check unless he had our payment first. He was argumentative and insisted this is how it was done. We gave him our payment methods and he returned with the check split down the middle. When we told him that it was wrong and could he please correct it, he pulled out his wallet and gave us two dollars because "that was the difference between the checks." It was not. There was a 25 dollar difference. This place has had such a strong reputation which is what led me there in the first place. (And gave them a second chance.) Besides the delicious fresh squeezed orange juice, I can't see its potential and think your money is best spent else where. read more

Talking with the hostess, she stated that they were short a few people but our order would be about 25 minutes. We ordered roasted chicken, a burger, Bison meatloaf and a few other items. I was able to sample a few different items and all were good. The Bison meatloaf was tasty and came with some tender and tasty broccoli and some not so tasty mashed potatoes. The food was good. The service not so much. He never checked on us until we flagged him down. I got one cup of drip coffee, was never offered a refill. So when I asked for a coffee to go he charged me again for another cup. I get Vail is expensive, but at least disclose I will be charged for another cup and I can make that decision. read more

It did take a little bit for someone to welcome us and get our drink order, and we ordered food then as well. The tables outside are high quality and look nice and the seats are comfortable. I ordered the Mai Tai Mimosa and the Bison Tenderloin Benedict. The mimosa came out fast & was in a stemless wine glass--a bit odd, but it was good nonetheless. As a lover of salt, I felt salt and pepper shakers on the table would've been nice, but again everybody has their preferences. The bison tenderloin was delicious, but I prefer my meat medium rare; it was closer to well done. That would've knocked my socks off! The only thing I would improve is cooking the meat less & having stuff on the table, such as salt and pepper, sugar for coffee, ketchup, etc. I would return! read more

Fantastic breakfast burritos (huge and tasty!) and great coffee with some of our favorite mugs (bought them for our house). Also a good spot for lunch (get the chicken wings) but by far our go to for breakfast. Well let's say it's a firm No. First of all we waited 15 minutes at the hostess stand only for two employees to say "they can't help because they are servers and not the hostess". Finally one of the same servers who couldn't help handed me breakfast menus and said go sit somewhere. Hmm really?! First of all why couldn't that have been done 15 minutes ago and secondly it's 1pm what happened to the lunch menu? After selecting a table inside I literally had to go search and find the lunch menu and bring them to my table because no one and I mean NO ONE was willing to help. Meanwhile the line was out the door for people waiting to sit because there was still no hostess. Anyway sat and another 15 minutes go by before a waitress comes to ask for our beverage order. Another 10 minutes before she comes back for the food order. 30 minutes later our food arrives. Both were the wrong order! First of all I ordered the salmon ramen bowl which has the ingredients outlined on the menu. It came with "extras" including an egg which is only said to be in the short rib ramen bowl dish...interesting. The other item was waffles with turkey bacon. The waffles had ham and sausage cooked inside and regular bacon on the side. Hmmm? What happened to the "turkey"? When we mentioned the total time spent (1 hour) from walking into to actually getting food and that the order was wrong the waitress said "I guess I can take it off your bill". Um yes because we didn't eat the food nor did we want the incorrect items. Good food and service are hard to find these days and especially during mud-season in a ski town. Honestly no food looked appetizing and surrounding tables had issues with their orders as well. How this place has a high rating I have no clue but I'd recommend trying some place else. read more

The French onion soup is amazing - is you're not a huge cheese person I'd ask for light Swiss because they give you a huge portion. Short rib ramen - short rib is cooked perfectly. Stick to breakfast... My friend and I recently went here for some post mountain eats- to my surprise they don't serve breakfast food after 3pm so we were forced to order off of their dinner menu. I got a roasted chicken and my friend got the Bison Meatloaf. Both meals were the most tasteless, bland, underprepared meals I've ever paid for in a restaurant- and they weren't cheap either. It tasted like my roasted chicken was prepared by a college freshman just learning how to use an air fryer- the lack of taste and seasoning combined with how dry the chicken was is surprising to say the least. (and this was after the server suggested the chicken is "way better" than the Salmon so i'm GLAD i didn't order that.) TLDR: Don't order food from here after 3pm. Whether or not you're staying at the attached hotel, you need to make it a priority to visit Westside Cafe and Market on your next trip to Vail. We were told by three different strangers we chatted up throughout the day that we couldn't leave without stopping here. With that kind of press, how could we pass it up? We ended up being in a bit of a rush in the morning, so we opted to get our orders to go. You can order anything off of their menu to go, but it will take some time before your meal is ready. If you need more 'grab and go' options, they have massive cinnamon rolls, pastries, bagels and schmear, and breakfast sandwiches. Don't forget a full coffee bar and a fridge section with water, soda, and juice. We ordered an everything bagel with honey walnut schmear and a breakfast sandwich with bison, egg, american cheese on an everything bagel. The honey walnut spread is absolutely delicious. There are actually chunks of walnut, so if you prefer your peanut butter creamy, this might not be the one for you. I, however, found it to be magical. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast sandwich. We had the tiniest little strip of bison meat across the entire bagel. It was like a slice of meat you'd find in a fajita. But just one. I know bison is getting harder to source, but I would have gladly paid extra for one more piece. Otherwise, my egg and cheese sandwich was satisfying. If you do decide to dine in this quaint, rustic paradise with a view of the mountains, be sure to arrive early or put your name on the wait list via the Yelp app. There aren't many tables, or big tables for that matter, so be prepared to wait. However, I'm sure you'll pass the time just fine with the gorgeous view! Overall, great experience. Overall the food here is absolutely amazing! The fact that you can get mixed styles of the egg Benedict makes it a real dining experience. You can get everything from chicken and waffles eggs Benedict to south of the border pulled pork, or even bison! I also got the chicken fried steak and dipped it in gravy and it was one of the best I've ever had. Only downside of this place was the wait is very long here on Saturday morning, probably an hour and a half even though they said it was going to take 35 minutes to be seated. Food was definitely five stars, service was great!
