Below is the summary of my service experience with Westside KIA and the issues they caused. I hope by providing this review, potential customers will avoid this dealership altogether. On 12/1/2022, I worked with Sebastian Flores (who has been great through this process) and the dealership I purchased my car through to have a new seat cover for the driver's side bottom portion of the seat paid for and ordered. The bottom seat cover was being replaced due to scratches caused by the dealership I purchased my Stinger from (Not Westside KIA) On 1/6/2023, I dropped off my KIA Stinger to have the driver's side bottom seat leather replaced. After picking up my Stinger, I noticed there was an indentation in the leather on the bottom right bolster. It seems the cushioning behind the leather was nicked during the removal of the original seat cover. Additionally, I noticed two big scratches on the plastic below my arm rest. This was caused by improper removal of the seat. If you look at the original seat cover with the scratches on it there is no indentation on it. After noticing this, I contacted Sebastian Flores and had a service appointment scheduled to have these issues resolved. On 2/17/2023, I dropped off my KIA Stinger for most of the day. After being told my car was ready and coming to pick it up, I was notified that no work was done because the Service Manager, Matt Reck, and the district representative said the replaced seat cover was "within standards" for KIA. After this, I had a phone conversation with Matt Reck and was told again that this was "within standards" and if they "replaced the seat cover 30 times" it would still have the issue I was describing. I was also told by Matt Reck that, "I am the only person that would notice this", which was very condescending and unprofessional. At the end of the useless conversation with Matt, I was told to open a KIA Customer Care Case which I did. After working with my case manager and providing all the information to KIA, they determined this was not a warranty related issue (It was never a warranty related issue in the first place) and it was the responsibility of the dealership to fix the issue. On 3/17/2023, I unfortunately had another conversation with Matt Reck who again told me the seat was "within standards" and there was nothing more they would do for me. He even told me my original seat cover had the indentation already in it which was a complete lie. He did inform me I could "pay them to have it looked at again". Additionally, when I pointed out the scratches on the plastic below my armrest, he said he "didn't see them at my service appointment on 2/17/2023 so they couldn't have caused them". What's surprising to me is I provided pictures of what the seat and the plastic below my armrest looked like before the seat cover was replaced and they still won't take responsibility for their shoddy service and the damage they caused. Since my call on 3/17/2023, I have been trying to reach the general manager of Westside Kia, Caitlin Auffenberg, to talk with her about my service issue. I have left several voicemails and have not once been contacted which shows she doesn't care about her customers. Summary: Do not use this dealership for warranty work or any kind of service. The service manager, Matt Reck, is completely unprofessional and won't take responsibility for the subpar work performed by the service technicians. Additionally, the general manager, Caitlin Auffenberg, doesn't care about her customers. She will avoid your calls and won't call you back after leaving several voicemails. read more

I truly had an amazing experience at Westside Kia, I went on Friday and bought a used 2023 Kia sorento but ended up wanting the 2024, called James my sales person and told him my situation, he truly went above and beyond to try and get me the new Kia within my budget with no down payment and let me tell you the poor man fought hard for me with the sales manager for 3 + days!! It's now Wednesday and I'm driving out the lot with a 2024 Kia sorento x-line sx prestige within my budget and with no regrets!! Told them at the time of the pickup, but sales manager told to call service the next day since they were gone by 7:20pm. Called them as usually they denied and said they have a wrote it on a piece paper, which they didn't have first time I called. In and out after four hours. Had to Uber home and back for the appointment. Added $50 to my experience. Paid $370 to simply have my car serviced. OMG! Sorry, but nothing went well. It was expensive, took too much time, and cost me more money than it should have. Last new car I bought included maintenance/oil changes. Don't mind paying for filters IF actually needed but paying for basic maintenance, tire rotation and balancing ??? a half @$$ car wash, no vacuum and NO complimentary loaner ... BS. Love my car just not happy with customer support. If it wasn't a hybrid, I would not bring it to the dealership for maintenance, but their "maintenance" didn't include anything related to the hybrid maintenance at all! read more

The service person or rather boy AJ in Katy Texas is the rudest person that I have ever encountered I had to go in twice for recalls on they 2013 Kia Soul and this boy made me wait and the other old men there were also not helpful. I swear to God Kia has gone downhill hill in customer service and just because I was not paying for anything they treated me like crap. I took my Telluride in for an oil change and tire rotation. Service advisor was very professional and accommodating, however when I left the dealer the car was running rough and smoking badly. I drove a couple of miles with car slowly getting worse, it finally became not able to drive. I called the dealership who had a tow truck respond to haul the car back in. it turned out that the technician had overfilled the oil causing the engine to shut down. They drained the oil out and re filled it, it seemed to run ok when I left but I'll never know if the engine was damaged long term. I answered two surveys including a telephonic interview and reported the poor experience I had, also reported to Kia corporate. In spite of my complaint I've heard nothing from the dealer management. After spending four hours at the dealer and possibly damaging my car, I expect better. Not recommendEd! read more

I found a used car online Saturday night, 9/13. Sent a message through the website. The dealership was closed on Sunday. Jasmine from Westside Kia calls me this morning, 9/15 & asks if I am still interested. I told her yes, that I am coming after work & will be there by 6pm. A few hours later I receive an email from Caleb Bragg, Sales Manager. The title of the email was 'reminder about your 6pm appointment'. He asked me to confirm that I was still coming this evening & I replied back at 2:30pm that yes, I would be there by 5:15 or 5:30pm. I took off 2 hours of vacation from work & drove across town to be at this appointment. I get to Westside Kia at 5:30pm & my sister who lives out in Richmond drove there to look at the car with me. A salesman walked up as soon as we walked in & said he could help us. We went to the restroom & as I'm walking out, I see that Mr. Bragg emailed me at 4:45pm to state the car I came to look at was 'spoken for'. I tell the sales guy the situation & that I am not happy & he goes to check on it. When he comes back, the big brain asks me if I would still like to look at the car even though it is spoken for. I say no- why would I want to do that?!! Then he asks if he can show us other cars. Ridiculous & Westside KIA needs to train their staff better. UNACCEPTABLE read more

This establishment has a couple of helpful people, but overall horrible experiences, particularly with the service department. When making the appointment or attempting to do so, there is a lady who is extremely rude. I was told my first oil change and tire rotation was covered, and she tried to argue with me on that. There was much back and forth until they reached out to my salesman, J. Ventura, who made it right. This most recent call to schedule service was also alarming. They said an address that I haven't lived at in OVER three years. That is not anywhere on my drivers license, or files, and I have only had my car for a little over a year. Where did you acquire this information ma'am? Why do you have an address I have NEVER given you? Creepy! The service advisors do not come out, so you have to park and go inside. Once inside, there typically is zero acknowledgment of your existence or "we'll be right with you" and a very long wait time, even with no one in line. It is nearly impossible to schedule service unless you have a week or two to wait. They lack compassion and empathy 100%. They do not try to "make things right" or make you feel like a valued customer AT ALL. One service advisor was extremely lazy and refused to help anyone, having the other guy helping everyone in there all by himself. The lazy one (Hispanic male) just was relaxing all lax in his chair on the phone acting super important. He even had his feet propped up on his desk, so unprofessional. I'm so glad he was comfortable allowing his partner (the Caucasian younger male) to do all the work. He literally even MADE calls while I was there to avoid helping anyone that was trying to check their cars in! The Hispanic male was assigned my service advisor and I requested that he NEVER be assigned to me again, as he did literally NOTHING to help me. Having been a service advisor myself in the past, I know they get a percentage of your service costs and I was not about to let him reap the benefits of ANY of my service needs now or down the road because he literally did absolutely nothing to help. Not only that, he will pretend he doesn't see you and avoid eye contact at all costs. If I am not mistaken, he is the first podium on the right when you walk through the service bay doors. They do not make you feel like a priority after the sale is made. Even though they offer a bird dog referral program, I had to call for weeks to ask them about my referral incentive for recommending the place to a friend who purchased a few vehicles there. They offer the incentive, but don't follow through on it until YOU call several times hounding them about it. I guess they hope you forget. Even when I called the last time about it, I was given a day and time to collect it and that it would be READY. When I came within that time, it wasn't ready still. They asked me to come back another time and day. I refused to do such a thing since I was specifically told it would be ready for me at that time and day. I suppose they needed to move mountains at that point to actually get it ready while I waited, but eventually and miraculously it was settled at that time. Do NOT a expect them to reach out to you for this referral program at all. They will not follow through! I do not think I will be using their service department on a regular basis, and I will never recommend that location to another soul. If anything, I will use them only for warranty or service recalls. They have also lost the potential to ever make another sale with me or ANYONE I know. What a shame, because they could do better, and I know because I personally have worked for Ford, Toyota, Maserati, Ferrari, and Audi as a service advisor. Pick up your game, Kia! read more

Terrible experience! Needed an oil change but also wanted my air conditioner checked. I called 3 times to make sure the appt I had would check my air also. Talked with Kevin. Even told him I was taking a road trip to Arizona where it's 120 degrees so I really needed to make sure my air was working good. He said o problem ma'am I got you covered. Went to the appointment and guess what they didn't have me down for the right kind of appointment and they had no one to look at my car if I wanted my air conditioning looked I would have to leave the car overnight. This was at 9 AM in the morning and I was talking to Kevin, who quickly stated no ma'am, I didn't talk to you. Really! How would I know if haven't even worked there. Yes Never mind I also needed to have my tent redone so I was advised to go talk to sales. So talking to sales I decided to tell them my problem with the repair side, and they both looked at each other and smiled had no comeback. The only thing he wanted to know is if I want to buy a new car, I would never buy another car from this place. What a joke. Great car buying experience at Westside Kia! No annoying pushy sales tactics or manager charades. They honored the price advertised added tax, title, license and small document fee and no fake cleaning fees or supposedly installed glass/paint protections, etc.! Salesman Blake was friendly, and straight forward didn't bother me with forced sales talk. Blake even drove the new car home for me, doorstep service! Rye the Finance guy was also friendly and not overly pushy. He did his job, but stopped pushing when I asked him to. Quick and efficient. Bought my car from here and everything has gone downhill since then. My air conditioning has gone out 2 years in a row in the middle of the summer heat. They "fixed it" the first time and told me a wire burnt up causing the issue but that it was fixed. Now 2 weeks ago the a/c stops again, they say it's going to be a bigger fix to get to the root cause of the issue and the entire wire harness needs to be replaced. After 2 weeks of waiting after being told the part was on the way and I can expect it by 6/30 I finally get ahold of my service adviser and he informs me the part is on back order not even in the country and I can expect a wait of 30-45 days or even longer. So my brand new 2021 K5 with less than 30k miles is out of commission for months with no end in sight with a measly 30$ a day rental credit offered while I'm still paying my monthly car note for a car under warranty that I can't use. Never expect a call back from this service department and expect to call 5 times minimum before you get anyone on the phone. Update: Another 2 weeks have gone by, still have never received a call from my service advisor Sebastian, if I want an update I have to call and spend at least 30 minutes to get him on the phone. Would say the average number of times I have to call to actually get him on the phone is 4-5 times, his voicemail inbox is full so can't even leave a message. read more

I will try and make this short and to the point. I took my vehicle in for breaks repairs and after several attempts and 7 weeks later my vehicle was ready for me to pick up. But never in those seven weeks did Chuck, the rep ever reach out to give me any updates on my vehicle. But chuck did called when my car was ready, but not before telling me that he had one request of me and that was not to show my face around there for a very long time! Wow... Don't worry chuck you will never see my face around there never again. Oh, and after driving my vehicle for a few hours, I realize that three of my electrical power windows we're not working! read more

I've noticed quite a few not so good reviews regarding the servicemen and how the customers were being treated regarding their vehicles. I've also encountered a similar treatments and behaviors in southern CA Kia dealership. I was hoping to encounter a better experience here on the Westside Katy. Chuck was a serviceman in my case when I brought my car in for the 75K service. Since my car has only 72K+ and not ready for the 75K service, Chuck and I were discussion which option should I've taken, e.g., Just an oil change, or have the 75K service now. I've decided to have the 75K service instead. It was a long service and I was aware of the lengthy process. When I picked up the car, Chuck apparently not present and another person attended to the checkout process. There was no status report of the service until I asked the person. The only thing I've gotten out from the person was the car was in good condition and nothing was found alarming. Granted, personal attentive between the servicemen and the customers were not present, My car was worked on and released to me on the same day. I believed we have good intention until it's not. Thank you for the service on my car. I hope I will continue to encounter good experience as I have for the 75K service. read more

Their customer service is TERRIBLE. If your car is in need of a warranty repair then please take it somewhere else. Westside Kia is a complete waste of time. It's like a lower-level dealership or something. They don't offer loaner vehicles, they avoid or don't return calls when you want an update on your repair, and they blatantly lie to you about when it will be done. It's extremely difficult to get any answers or accurate information when you want to know what's going on with your car. Also, the General Manager (Caitlin Auffenberg) is completely useless. Left car there to replace brakes discs. They call that car was ready, we picked up and paid. Luckly my husband understand well enough to noticed that brakes were not changed, went back there few days later. They apologized and then changed the brakes. We were going to travel and wanted to be safe and changed the brakes before our trip. Kia put our lives in risks when they said a job was performed and it was never done. It was not cheap either. I had to replace my engine because it was faulty. After they replaced my engine, the service tech did not secure my alternator. Because the alternator wasn't secured properly, the screw broke off and it began to arc which caused it to burn out. I informed Richard of the problem and he failed to acknowledge their responsibility. Don't go there for car service. Also, after replacing my engine, my car was leaking oil. read more
