We are working on a school here on Bainbridge Island and stopped in here for lunch. They have a really good lunch deal, 2 slices and drink for $6. Pizza's are loaded. I don't do the chain pizza places, or chain food places hardly ever for that matter. The food here is pretty good and fast easy service. Awesome Greek salads too. How I heard of this place: On a little jaunt to the Island, west of Seattle, my husband and I shared a lovely afternoon with my in-laws, where they treated us to a Tuesday-special lunch: two slices and a beverage for $3. We made our way up the stairs of Winslow Mall's outdoor courtyard half-way through our walk up and back down the main street of Bainbridge Island's quaint, little town. Type of cuisine: Pizza. Two toppings per special. A case of bottled and canned beverages. Ambiance: More of an in-and-out style lunch pick-up, no seating is found within the confines of the Westside Pizza kitchen and order counter. Simply walk in, view the rotating pizzas on the windowed display shelves to your right, make your selection, pay to the left and walk out with your beverage (taken from the refrigerated stand-up display at the left of the door). Once back in the covered walkway of the Mall, a couple of picnic tables with umbrellas above are available for seating. That is, if they are not completely taken up by the high schoolers who are there for their daily special $1.50 per slice, buy two get a soda for free! What I ordered: Two slices mushroom and pepperoni with a can of Pepsi. My husband and I shared this half of the pizza, while my in-laws selected sausage with mushroom and sausage with green bell pepper on their half. What I loved: Cheese. This review would be zero stars, if that were possible. We had to call because the web site did not work. We ordered 2 pizzas. They were the same type of pizza, but one was gluten free/ no cheese; I asked if the pesto contained cheese & when told it did, asked for no pesto. When my husband arrived to pick them up, there was only one pizza, the gluten free one-- with pesto, & covered with cheese. My husband explained what was ordered (the cook, who appeared to be the youngest person working, had to be told, "NO CHEESE" 3 times), & waited for the pizzas to be re-done. Unfortunately, he didn't recheck them. When he arrived home, he had the incorrectly made GF/ DF pizza + a new GF pizza, but with pesto. So I couldn't eat either of them, & he didn't get what he ordered. Both crusts were quite burnt. 3 different people were involved (one took the order, another read the order to the cook, & the 3rd produced it) & the manager was also in the restaurant. Not one of these staff, the manager included, was wearing their mask correctly throughout the time my husband was waiting (the person who was doing the delivery did wear his mask appropriately) . Came in for pizza and salad with my two young daughters. Place had a lot of people working and near empty dining room but we were invisible. We said we were dining in and the cashier stacked three pieces of pieces on a paper plate. I wanted pizza not a pizza sandwich and there were three of us! My wife and I enjoy pizza elsewhere on the island, but we thought we'd try Westside today. We placed an in-person Carry-Out order for a $25.00 pizza, then sat on stools right next to the order line and waited. We watched the pizza operation as my wife and I talked of the days events. We watched as pizzas rolled out of the oven, were sliced and boxed and queued for home delivery. We watched as pizzas were delivered to tables for in-house dining. We watched as a pizza was boxed, tagged and placed on top of the oven. I concluded it was a called-in order for customer pick-up. More pizzas came off the line. Two more pizzas were boxed and placed on top of the oven. Our patience was beginning wane. We started wondering if it would have been better to call from home and request delivery. A forth pizza was boxed and placed on top of the oven. None of them had yet moved. We headed for the counter to ask about our order. It was at that point one of the team members picked up that first pizza from atop the oven. At this point it had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. Sure enough, my wife's name was called. Clear enough, in large font, the ticket accompanying our pizza states Carry Out. Why would such an order be placed in waiting anywhere? To me Carry Out implies a customer is there in person awaiting their order. It should have gone directly into our hands. We told the team member our pizza had sat atop the oven for at least 10 minutes. "I'm sorry. Have a good evening." That was their response. Needless to say we walked out with a mildly warm and soggy pizza. I am going to call it what it is. Incompetence! Never again for us. read more

Ordered a Pizza on Friday night at the Bainbridge Island Location. We were told it would be here "in about an hr." 1.5 hr.s later we called again (Pizza still not here) and were told that "our Pizza was en-route". 25 minutes later the pizza still hasn't arrived, so I called and asked to speak to the manager. The manager started out by getting snotty with me (very aggressive/abusive) and saying that the delivery time we were given "was an estimate". When I mentioned that "maybe they should mention that to customers when they order"- she got even snottier and said "It's always an estimate, sir.. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN AN ESTIMATE and we are really busy and only have one driver". I told here if they would have told us that when we ordered we could have just come and picked it up and added "we are freakin' starving here". She went absolutely ballistic and accused me of swearing at her. WHAAAAA??? So I asked if we could just drive down and pick up a pizza since it's been about 2 hr.s since we ordered? She told me "No! YOUR PIZZA IS ALREADY IN ROUTE", then she sarcastically added "is there anything else I can do for you? ". AYKM??!! Well, the Pizza arrived 8 minutes later (almost 2 hr.s after we ordered it), It was cold, soggy, and tasted nasty. I wrote a nasty farewell to Westside on the receipt. The poor driver can thank his manager for my attitude. We've been ordering pizza from Westside for as long as I can remember. Over the last 2 -3 years their food quality has gotten worse and worse (ordered a salad there in person recently that cost almost $15 and was inedible). Hard to compare this pizza with others in the area since we took Westside home twice. I can put it in the top 10% of pizza I've ever had. Alfredo sauce on the pie is legit. We also bought only one slice of pepperoni and regretted it, because it's as good as the alfredo. The herbs were sprinkled at an optimum ratio. They added just a little zing but didn't overpower. Pies are greasy as most pan pizza is. We fed our faces and gave zero fucks of the impending liquid ass that was to wake us up 4 hours later. To se the state, we are both from NJ and have very high standards for Pizza. While we have lived on the West Coast for the last 39 years and have gotten somewhat used to a different style pizza. This restaurant is close to my work, too, and I frequently walk here for lunch. They have a great lunch special - two slices and a drink for $5. On Monday, though, they have discounts! The pizza itself is greasy. I don't mind it, usually, but I would never be able to order a full-size pizza. Two slices is enough! They do have a variety of slices available - multiple vegetarian options! Also, I used to order the lunch Caesar salad, but I had to stop ordering it because the salad dressing was questionable. Caesar salad can be tricky, and I was was ill after eating it. The tables are frequently dirty, especially if the high school students have been through like a typhoon. There are usually a lot of children, too, so I do not recommend coming in exactly around lunch time. Would I ever think to come to Westside to eat? No. It's just in a rotation, so I make an effort once a week or so. I feel like I get what I pay for, though, so the food is consistent. read more
