NYE dinner . There was nothing advertised that there was a limited menu for NYE. we had small children in our party and the usual tacos or Chicken was not available. It was a high cost per person for what was actually served. For 90 per person , I should have been served a full steak at the very least , not a piece of cut arracherra and side salad served on a small side plate no bigger than my hand. Because I thought for those prices I'd get a full meal, I figured I'd cut some steak and give my daughter some , since she's used to tacos . Wonderful ambiance, service, and food. The flank steak was the best I've ever had and the empanadas were a perfect starter. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE - they will ignore your order and not even have the courtesy to call you that they never worked on it. Very unprofessional. addendum: Grubhub specifically called me, 10 minutes before food was supposed to arrive, and told me the restaurant "never confirmed the order" and I asked if they could just send the food and I could pay, they told me the restaurant "never prepared the food". And QED the owner stated he "prepared the food" and it was "just canceled" randomly. It is absurd they did not have basic problem solving and communication skills to pull up my account, ask me to reorder, and sent the food. I ordered ~200$ worth of food with adequate tip for an important event/special occasion. So it would have been in their best interest to make it work out. I do not know who to believe. But in real life, it is more plausible that the restaurant just forgot, or missed the order rather than Grubhub canceling a +$200 order in attempt to make the restaurant look bad. read more

This restaurant is such a vibe! It's very dark but cozy and romantic. They keep the lights dim and each table has a table top lamp. Service is excellent. The food was delicious and the drink were top notch! Husband and I usually share the ribeye with papas bravas and usually get a couple drinks each. This has become a usual date night spot for us. I was excited to try this new restaurant since it's just down the block from me. I made reservations for 630 pm. on a Saturday, for me, my husband, and my 5 year old. There's really nothing for kids here: food-wise or drink-wise. Luckily, my child was fine with just water, bread, and some chicken. The place looked really high end. The chairs and bench were covered in a black velvet material; super comfortable. I loved the dark colors of the place: the walls, the seats, the floor, and even the plates. We started off with drinks: Margarita for me, Remolacha for my husband, and water for my son. (they do serve pop, but he doesn't drink that, yet). The drinks were pricey, but at least they were well made and can get you drunk. The margarita was great, I liked the smokey aftertaste of the Remolacha, and the Tamarinda, which i ordered later, was sweet. For appetizers, we had the Empanadas (chicken, beef, and veggie) - all were tasty, but surprisingly, I liked the Veggie the most. The side of chimichurri sauce added to their flavors. For dinner, we ordered the Carne Asada Para 2. It came with two slabs of meat: one without bone and one with. I thought it was good, but my husband loved it that he eventually sucked all the meat off the bone. I did like the salad that accompanied our meal as well as the asparagus and chorizo. We ordered the 1/2 chicken for our child, but we asked to put the sauce on the side. He actually liked the chicken, which was a plus. I also tried some of his chicken but added the sauce: wow, so good. Lastly, I had to try dessert. We had four options, and I decided to get the Tres Leche. It was a big portion, tasted great but way too sweet, even for me. Overall we enjoyed our meal. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. We had someone constantly filling up our water, clearing our plates, and wiping down our table. I'm glad a place like this is at EP and I hope it stays for years to come. read more

0/10 do NOT recommend Myself and three friends dined at Weso the other night and it will be our first and LAST time there. To start, the drinks took about 20 minutes per round, our table was then ignore for about 30 mins while we tried to order. All attention went to a two top table next to us with out of town food bloggers. (Who were getting the royal treatment.) We all ordered off of the preset restaurant week menu- an appetizer, main dish and a dessert-Our appetizers took 45 minutes to come to the table, all while the table next to us was getting dish after dish after dish. The main dishes then took about 30 more minutes to come, the fish had to taken away because it smelled so bad that we couldn't even eat it or have it near us. The wagyu steak was very fatty and was cold. Needless to say all of us left very hungry. Probably the most upsetting part of this dinner was when the manager, who was wining and dining the bloggers heard us tell our waiter that our food smelled disgusting and we were very disappointed, yet he did absolutely nothing. All four of us are locals and were excited to try a new place, unfortunately, after the underwhelming service and food provided to us; on top of the blatant disrespect we felt when we were ignored several times we will never be back and urge you to try another local place. read more

You could tell the owner - who goes to every table to check on the customers - put his heart into this spot. The ambience is definitely not a suburb vibe and it felt much more sleek and cool. Go here....tonight!! We were in the EP area and noticed this new restaurant. Not underestimating, this place is amazing. I had the arrachera and my fiancé had one of the steaks. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time since we live in the area. Overall, the food was delicious and service was excellent. They remodeled it and replaced the furniture previously installed by Zia's. The chairs were very comfortable and the general atmosphere was inviting. A few observations: first, the wine list is very limited. Mostly Mexican wine. (Mexico has many good wines so don't be turned off by that.) However, most people including myself have never heard of the wines on the list. We sat next to another couple who were struggling with which glass/bottle to order also. Second, the food is expensive as compared to what other restaurants in the area offer. The steaks while hearty are served with a salad. If you want vegetables, potatoes or other sides, it's an extra $10. Not sure this location is the best for this higher end type of restaurant. read more

Have been two this spot twice since opening and overall have enjoyed the space, food, and drinks. Not the best steaks in Chicago but the Mexican spin is a nice change of pace. The arrachera is well seasoned and my medium rare was more on the rare side (just how i prefer it). The pisco sour and barro are both great drinks (barro is a great old fashioned substitute). My only complaint is the waitstaff is hit or miss. First time the woman was super on top of everything, gave great recommendations and was very inviting, the second time our waiter disappeared for long periods of time. However, despite the waiter disappearing the bus boys crushed it and got me another drink and even made dessert recommendations. read more

We were seated at 6:30, no one came to our table for drinks for 20 minutes- then it took another 20 to get our drinks! Yikes.
