I normally dread leaving terrible reviews but I have to be completely honest about the terrible bar service I experienced here on a Friday night whilst just trying to order a drink. The ladies at the bar had saw me waiting to order but it felt like they were ignoring me after I tried calling out to order for reasons totally unbeknownst to me. One of them was clearly aware I needed service yet continued to engage in flirtatious conversation with this older bald gentleman right next to me. Absolutely ridiculous! Now, I'm well aware they may have been a bit busy with orders and working in the food/drink service industry isn't the easiest task, but would it pain the staff AT ALL to acknowledge a customer's mere existence and provide a SLIGHT BIT of attention to someone wanting to order a drink at the bar and generate them more business? It was absolutely borderline incompetent and just plain insulting to a degree in my view! They truly didn't deserve my business nor any customer's business. Management really needs to crack down upon this and self-evaluate its own staff. The drinks are on the pricier end but this is expected at The Triangle Square in Costa Mesa. We had the worst experience at the bar, specifically with Jess. She was extremely rude and made us feel completely ignored. We stood at the bar for about 10 minutes before the other bartender finally acknowledged us, even though it wasn't busy at all. I even directly asked Jess if we could order. She clearly heard me and intentionally ignored me, which was incredibly rude and unprofessional. There was absolutely no reason for us to be standing there waiting that long when the bar wasn't busy. The other bartender eventually helped us, but the experience with Jess completely ruined it for us. Customer service shouldn't be this difficult, especially when you're literally standing right in front of the bartender trying to order. Definitely not the experience we expected. read more

This country restaurant/bar is located at the triangle square in Costa Mesa where the 55 ends. The staff was super friendly and the chef created amazing dishes that we got to try. I loved the duck wings and tuna stack. Every dish was super flavorful and the tuna was fresh from Catalina. We also tried the lobster tempura, which was a hit! Visited Westwood Coast again on a Friday night for dinner and the food was delicious! Westwood really knows how to do great steaks, we got the ribeye and New York strip, both were cooked perfectly! We had a big group and so we tried all the salads and pastas, they were so fresh and large sized - perfect for sharing! The sea bass and salmon were both great, my kids ate both very readily! The tuna poke stack is still one of my favorite appetizers, and the calamari was a table favorite too. This was my first time here but ironically, I pass this place three nights a week on my way to work. We arrived a little after 8pm on a Thursday evening, so we ordered food and drinks while awaiting the dining area to be converted to the dance floor. Order up: 1. Duck Wings, which were quite tender, prepared Korean style with gochujang, topped with sesame seeds, and garnished with fresh herbs. 2. Western Burger, with wagyu beef which my coworker enjoyed just as much. 3. Drop the Beet was our drink of choice, which was refreshing. All in all, we enjoyed our food and drinks even though their prices were comparable to those on the Las Vegas Strip...LOL! Great spot to visit during OC restaurant week. The place is in a hot and popping at the Triangle. It looked like a cutesie place to go line dancing. We opted for the tomahawk dine oc option. The portion was HUGE!!! Enough for dinner for 2 AND leftover lunch. The meal came with an app and dessert too. We picked the oysters (YUM YUM) and the tres leches dessert (just okay). The star of the show was the service. The waitstaff was so attentive. There was a miscommunication on the temperature on our steak and the manager replaced the tomahawk along with all the fixings. We had a party of 12 people, and while it was a bit disorganized and we had a few mixups, I certainly commend how friendly and accommodating the staff was. The restaurant was pretty busy all night, and had a live band plus bull riding. Here's some of the key items we ordered: Wagyu Burger: The burger was pretty tasty but borderline too juicy, with the bottom bun getting soggy within a couple minutes of receiving it. The flavors were there though, and the fries were solid too. Ribeye: We ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came well done, so we had to send it back. Good news is the new steak was fantastic, definitely one of the better ribeyes I've had (though I'm not entirely sure if the $84 price tag makes sense). Caesar salad: This was good, but a bit overdressed. Truffle Mac & Cheese: This was a huge miss - super dry, and little seasoning/flavor. Duck Wings: Another solid dish, duck wings is a unique take and they did a good job with these. Fried Chicken: This dish was massive and well done. I'd definitely recommend sharing it with folks. This was my second time going to this bar. As we walked up a groups of people in their $50's could barely walk down the street. Then we walked in and the bar top was a mess, it looked like they haven't cleaned it in hours. I was 1 of 4 people trying to get drinks and the girls just kept walking by avoiding eye contact. Once we ordered our drinks, Grey Goose and soda with lime. All we tasted was nasty vodka (it was clearly not Grey Goose) and it was around $40 for two drinks. Ridiculous.
