Cheaper than the convention center. The day before my kids had begged to purchase the Wetzel Pretzel during Comic Con and we paid over $10 for a regular pretzel. At this location we got the bite sized pretzels for $2 cheaper. They were freshly made. My wife got the almond bites. Wished the almond didn't fall off so easly. We had to pay extra for the caramel dipping. If you are attending an event at the convention center this is just a few minutes walk away. This location is at Seaport Village. I can't remember if this business offers validation for parking. It's located near the pond and the water. It's a great location to watch ducks, people watching, or looking out at the water. We have tried this location several times. Employees were nice. They offer military discount. Products are usually fresh. The pretzel for me is okay. My kids like the products from here. read more

This place brings back so many nostalgic memories. My girlfriend and I came here about a week ago for a quick snack while we perused the seaport village grounds and the nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks. After 10 years this specific location is still here. Albeit more expensive than what it was back then but, still the same nonetheless. My friends and I used to come here when we were 18, broke, bored, and hungry lol. We used to share a bag of cinnabits and a large lemonade because that's all we could afford lol On this particular night though, I had a jalapeño cheese classic pretzel which I thought tasted far better than the cinnabits. The only complaint I have is how they charge you for every little thing. It would make sense for the pretzel to come with a cheese container and you purchase extra if you want more but nope. This was a great snack after a long walk looking at all the boats and beautiful scenery.

We are big fans of Auntie Anne's pretzels, and I was certain I would never find anything that came close to my love for them. I was wrong! Wetzel's pretzels is a new favorite! We got the pretzel bites with cheese dip and a lemonade. The pretzel bites were warm, so soft, and absolutely delicious (with or without the cheese!). The lemonade was wonderful; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Perfect snack between meals, or you could probably make a meal out of their menu items! The line was quite long, but once the order was placed our service was quick and the staff were nice. We went toward the end of the day and sadly they were out of many of the items were originally wanted to try (the pretzel dog for example), but we weren't disappointed with what we ended up with. The location is perfect, right on the boardwalk. If you're lucky, you might even get a spot at a couple of the public beach chairs in the sand under an umbrella! If not, it's a very short stroll to the park where you can sit in the grass or at a picnic table and eat pretzels while watching the boats. Sadly we don't live in San Diego and most likely won't get many chances to eat Wetzel's Pretzels again, but if we get the chance we will 100% take it! Definitely worth a try! read more

My soft pretzel was really good in the cheese dip. The hot dog was good too. Prices are on the high side but that's understandable being in a tourist hotspot. 8/15/15 Walking through seaport village on a warm day calls for a refreshing lemonade. I ordered a large lemonade, regular pretzel bits, and cinnamon bits. The lemonade tasted as if they forgot to mix the drink. It was very sour. Unfortunately, both pretzels bits were stale and dry. Seems they had been there for a long long time. The cinnamon for the pretzel bits were just poured in the bag when normally each bit has a nice covering over each one. Then a large strawberry lemonade (that was correct) then I said I ordered a large regular and asked what was In the two cups. She got mad that she screwed up. Grabbed the receipt that she obviously messed up. Then handed me a large regular lemonadeShe angrily told me to keep all the extras which I tossed cause I don't need them. Finally made me what I actually ordered. But decided to argue with me. I know what I ordered. She didn't listen to me not my problem. I've worked in the village going on 8 years now and have never seen such an immature and carefree staff. Pros: Lemonade is good (most of the time, sometimes it's completely watered down). Usually quick service. Nice manager. Cons: I've called to place pick-up orders several times and I can't tell you how many times they answer with a "hello" loud shouting or laughing in the background, not placing me on hold to yell a question, etc. 1. Once the girl said "hello?" I asked "Is this Wetzels Pretzel" and she rudely answered "unmm yessss..." 2. Another time I was in the village with a friend in my free time and she wanted to go to Wetzels. It was 8:45. Working there, I informed her that all of the stores close at 9 so we should hurry. We walked over there at 8:50 to see 2 employees on their phones leaning against the counters inside with 3 of their friends standing outside laughing and talking, blocking the order window. We waited for a minute when my friend finally spoke up and said "can we order?." Both employees ignored her. And one of the friends told them she wants to order. An employee looked up from her phone and said "sorry, we're not serving anymore." Then went back to her phone. I spoke up and said "all of the store close at 9." And she informed me that there was no more food. I found that funny considering there were about 8 bags of food sitting on the floor near the feet of the employees' friends. We just walked away and they lost customers. 3. The final story is when I went and stood in line on a busy day because they forgot my glaze in the order they delivered. I didn't mind waiting, but the customers were extremely frustrated to the point where they were making comments to each other. The main one was "Why does she not have on a hairnet?! That's unsanitary. She is flipping her hair all over the place around the food." (It was a girl with long full curly hair, not just short hair, so they had a point). When I got to the window i discreetly told the lady at the window about the ladies comments and how she may want to have the girl put her hair up. But she kind of brushed it off. So I'm not sure if the girl ever did. 4. The food is okay. Sometimes perfect. Sometimes stale. Sometimes drenched in grease. It all depends. The only reason I continue putting up with the inconsistency and staff is because they are the quickest to serve and they will deliver to our store. But my main complaint is the staff. Customer service is EVERYTHING. ESPECIALLY in a tourist area. My final comment is I hope that the Wetzels Pretzel supervisor or someone in charge will work on improving the customer service. read more

Ok, ok. So this place wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't terrible either. It's a chain restaurant that's doing it's job - mass producing pretzels. I ordered the pepperoni and a friend got the jalapeno with a side of cheese for dipping. My pretzel was hot, soft, a little chewy and topped generously with cheese and pepperoni. It was good. Was it gourmet? No. Was it as great as Auntie Anne's pretzels that I grew up loving? No. Would I return? Yes. If I'm in the mood for a pretzel snack, I would try Wetzel's again. I just ordered a jalapeño cheese pretzel today and was extremely disappointed. I've enjoyed a fantastic plain salted pretzel here before and was so looking forward to getting another one today. I could literally taste the butter brushed on to it in the air as I approached. I'm salivating just thinking about it. I was spoken to as if I was wasting the time of the person behind the counter and he wasn't very helpful in regards to assisting me in deciding on what to get. Maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed? I don't know but I'd rather it wasn't taken out on me. A simple smile would even suffice. This is by far the worst Wetzel's Pretzels ever. We were on vacation in Seaport Village in San Diego. This location is right by the water, seemed nice...nope... They had half a dozen kids working this location and they were just joking around, having a good time. If they were doing their job, no problem, but unfortunately...they are not. We ordered dog bites and a Blue Rasberry slush. Unfortunately for me, we took it to go. The dog bites were severely burned and the slush was extremely watered down...more like blue water. So I understand working fast food service especially at a small stand at sea port village may not be glamorous but seriously waiting more then 20 min for pretzel bites when quoted 5 min yeah... do you take the job seriously or is it a past time? I know things can get busy and I can account for that but if your customer is waiting in eye sight and you know they're waiting for their order you took personally you would think you would remember to give them their food right?! I've came here often and I've had plenty of pleasant experiences but on my recent visit when I was placing my order I over heard one of the employees talking back in a very negative form to some of the employees that was very unprofessional and rude specially when there is customers in line beside and behind me waiting to place their order or waiting for their food.!
