We are often at this Whataburger just because my wife likes it, and it's nearby. It's also not difficult to get a deal if you watch your receipts for a survey opportunity. Doing the survey gives you a code that gives you almost half off their standard Whataburger meal, so that's a plus. They do usually have a promo sandwich at any given time, and those are usually pretty good, as are their onion rings. This particular location gets pretty busy since it's the fast food closest to the interstate. That said, they do sometimes have issues with items being out of stock. It's usually their drinks, and I have to think it's an ordering issue moreso than running through a high volume just in a day or two. read more

Stopped in this establishment yesterday for a curbside order in morning, paid almost 27 dollars for their 'whatawings bundle' (which is essentially 18 chicken nuggets and 2 medium orders of fries (or for up charge of 60 cents each, onion rings) we didn't look in our bags until we were down the road and realized we didn't get our onion rings. Called store and was told by team lead Jessica to tell them Jessica said to stop back by on our way through next time and tell them what happened and that I spoke to Jessica Almost 12 hours later, after a full day of house shopping with clients...we stopped back in to get a quick supper for my son, and a couple of milkshakes , and decided to ask for our replacement onion rings then. Not only was the manager not willing to give me the onion rings but he acted like a petulant child after sitting 25 minutes through their drive through. To top it off, my milkshakes were made what seemed like the beginning of our drive through wait and were somewhat watery by the time we got them. Have talked to corporate about whole exchange but really wasn't impressed on any level. An open restaurant is a sight for sore eyes when you've spent all day in the hospital and desperately need food. I would have given five stars but over an hour in the drive thru is quite simply ridiculous. That said, as soon as I reached the speaker and told them I had a mobile order they did direct me to lane B and rushed my order out. The service here is slow, which is typical of the Whataburgers I have visited in the past, but friendly. I had a lot of modifications to each burger I ordered. Not only did they get them right but they labeled them! They also got the rest of the order right and included extra ketchup and honey mustard. I was pretty impressed.The food was hot even after a trek to the ER and up to the SICU. Everything tasted great. Whataburger is your typical burger joint. They offer fresh made hamburgers, chicken burgers, chicken strips, chicken wraps, salads, fries, onion rings, and apple slices. They have fried lemon and apple pies as well as cinnamon rolls. I recommend the honey bbq chicken sandwich and onion rings. Their shakes and malts are delicious no matter the flavor. They have a nice breakfast menu as well. I placed a DoorDash order for some tenders and fries with a Dr. Pepper. I received burnt old food and a lemonade. I called the restaurant and asked for the manager. I informed the manager that my food was burnt and I was given the wrong drink. The manager went back and forth with me saying that my food was not burnt and that he had been cooking all night so he knows maybe it was my dasher. I was so confused on how my dasher could have affected my food so I just asked could it be remade and he said no. Luckily, I was able to submit my photos to DoorDash who issued a full refund. Long story short go to Waffle House at night! Whataburger shouldn't be open if they don't want to cook fresh food. Hire a manager with integrity. read more

It's great to see more Whataburgers on this side of the Mississippi, but there are a few consistency problems with this and other locations. First, the wait time. Sometimes getting your food will only take a few minutes, other times you'll realize you could have eaten a full meal at a sit-down restaurant waiting for your food, even with a few cars ahead of you. Second, the food quality. Out of the 5 times I've gone, 3 of those times had me wondering if it was cooked properly. Some of the ingredients just tasted odd and not very fresh. Other times it was a solid fast food burger and fries. They took this Whataburger out of Texas and I think they left the quality control behind. We were traveling from Birmingham to Gulf Shores and pulled in for a quick bathroom break and to grab something to drink. We ended up ordering a Whataburger Jr meal simply to keep the hunger pangs at bay until we reached the coast. We ordered to-go and when we got back into the car, the burger was cold as were the fries. We were disappointed to say the least. They could and should do much better. I visited the Alabaster Whataburger on 9/14/24 to pick up an online order. I'm standing at the left end of the counter and a young male with long dreads walks up to the cash register and makes a noise. Henry may have said something but it was so far under his breathe, it just made a noise. I state what I needed and he walks off. A young lady brings the bag of food and states "they" would get the drinks. I'm not sure who "they" were and apparently neither did "they". I stood there a few minutes then moved to the right side of the counter to see the drinks on the counter and the monitors that showed no cars in the drive thru and me and another customer standing in the lobby. Not an employee in sight. The young male from before walks by with a cup to his head enjoying a beverage. I get his attention and ask if I can get the drinks. He turns at someone else, not visible, and gestures at the drinks. ask for straws and it takes even more of an effort to get them. It was absolutely exhausting picking up this DoorDash order. The young male was more interested in his own concerns than the needs of customers; he hiked the other customer in the lobby patiently waited to be serve. I ordered a plain Spicy Chicken Sandwich and received one that had mayo and pickles on it. I am confused because the full sandwich has lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo. How is "plain" just taking off two condiments? Plain means plain to me. I asked them to take it back and make me a new one, which seems reasonable, right? Nope. I've been to this location a fair number of times now. Good split between the drive through and dining in. I guess this is kind of a classic case of 1 step forward and 2 steps back. So, what I'm getting at here is for every really good experience you can anticipate two mediocre/underwhelming experiences. Typical for most Whataburger's in that the food is fresh. They make a really good fresh burger that is really hard to beat in the fast food industry. However, when you go through the derive through, to save a little heart ache, make sure to double check your order, especially if you customize in any way. Some days they are absolutely spot on and the order is perfect. Other days it's like there isn't any communication between the person taking the order and the person cooking. Which ultimately makes me think there is probably another person that has an order that doesn't match what they were trying to get. One more thing, which seems to be common at Whataburger's, is plan on a little bit of a wait for your food. Now, this location does a great job compared to other locations when it comes to speed of getting the order out. But, when it comes to fresh, quality tasting fast food, I'm more than willing to wait a couple minutes so I'm not getting heat lamp food. Would return here and would recommend to anyone looking for some good fresh fast food. read more

The restaurant was filthy and the floors hadn't been mopped in years. The ice maker was out and they were slow to get ice. All the coke machine products were flat and the sweet tea was nonexistent. I should've known better. Went back last night with high hopes and it was a total bummer. Ended up with a burned piece of chicken that I couldn't even bite through. Smh. Grilled Chicken Melt Meal this time and it was hot and fresh. We had to ask for ice bcus the girl gave me hardly any ice in a large tea. And the sandwich looked amazing until I bite into it. I ended up having to take the sandwich apart and peeling off the burned layer of the chicken to actually eat it. This is a nice fast food restaurant that's open 24/7 and serve both breakfast and lunch/dinner items. The prices are reasonable and food is made to order. One of my favorite things to order here is their lemon pies. Their breakfast items are my next favorite items to order. The good customer service is also a plus. read more

We stopped in here to get some of my kiddos a hamburger. In typical fashion, my experience here is similar to most Whataburgers. It's a fast food restaurant with burgers, chicken, fries, etc. I tend to like this chain over other burger chains, partly because I grew up going to these in Texas and partly because they tend to be tastier than others. This place was clean, quick, and the servers were friendly. Overall, good experience from a dad getting his boys a burger while out running errands. read more
