The cashier was friendly, but the order was messed up. I think of the five orders, only two were correct. Water was replaced with a lemon drink, fries were omitted, one sandwich was missing. We were late in getting the boys fed, and they were cranky, so finding meals messed up added to their bad moods. This is probably only the second time I have been in this particular location. My chopped steak had a nice mix of peppers and onions but arrived without the gravy promised on the menu, leaving it on the dry side. To top it off, when I asked for A1, it came in a tiny ramekin... with an extra charge. In the end, Jefferson's wasn't a disaster, but it wasn't memorable either--except for those fried mushrooms. I have been to the Urban Cookhouse locations at the Summit and in Homewood. This is much closer to both home and work for me. A friendly server asked how he could help, and when I told him I placed a to-go order online, he directed me to the pickup bookcase, where there were a few orders waiting. I found my order easily and headed back to the office. Totally forgot to grab plastic ware, but I had some in my work desk. My lunch DID NOT disappoint!! The wrap was super flavorful. One side fell apart, but I used my fork to scoop up all the strawberries and blueberries that came out of the wrap. I saw later that they may add them (maybe periodically?) individually or as a combo meal. For my main, I got the Chicken Philly. I typically ask for no peppers; they said the onions and peppers are grilled together, but they're well cooked. There honestly weren't a lot (or cooked so small/soft I didn't notice much), so that was fine by me. It was also bigger than it looked, so I was able to take home half of it to enjoy for dinner that night. (It reheated well, btw.) Loved the artwork on the walls. I think that artist has done a few in the area, and I think they said they kept some of the images from the previous ideation of the space. They do have music on, and so if you're dining in, maybe have someone stay near the front until the food's ready. It was a little hard to hear since the counter was around the corner, and I noticed the couple at the next table must have not heard their name being called. Next time, I will likely look at ordering some of their wings; they seemed to offer a variety. They'll also be offering Soul Food Sundays, with a menu that will have you remembering your grandmother's Sunday meals.
