I enjoyed a DELICIOUS Avocado, Bacon and Cheese Burger today 3/26/26. In hindsight, I wish I had enjoyed the burger at the restaurant rather than drive 5.5 miles to my home to enjoy the sandwich. Although the sandwich was double wrapped in paper, it chilled enough to alter the texture of the grilled bread. Lesson learned! I was pleasantly greeted at the drive through menu and wonder of wonders (!) the communications were clear, quick and easy. I was FURTHER impressed that Angie, the cashier at the window, presented me with a broad smile and welcoming attitude. Pleasant service is always a joy! I failed to see the name tag on the colorfully haired young lady who delivered my to-go bag. She too was exceedingly polite. It must be a great place to work based upon the happy employees! The parking lot is large and the easy to maneuver. The parking lot always spotless - - zero trash to be seen. As to the ambiance? I have nothing to report, as I didn't step foot inside the place. Driving from STL to Omaha, the Whataburger in Blue Springs is the first one I come to. I ordered 7 tequitos so I could have (2) of n the road while charging my Tesla. And the rest I put in my Tesla fridge, so I could enjoy Tequitos every morning while I was in Omaha. It did not disappoint. On my return trip home, I was outside the breakfast hours, so I ordered a few Whataburgers with cheese, (or so I thought). The app was confusing and I overlooked the cheese selection. But when I arrived to pickup my order the white wrappers told me they were without cheese. I went back inside and explained my mistake and asked for cheese for my burgers. They took them back in the kitchen and added the cheese without any hassle. When they returned, I asked what I owed them for the cheese, because I knew the error was mine when ordering from the road. He just smiled and said, "We got you... But if you like to review us and share your honest thoughts, so others know we're here that would be great." I returned to my car and wrote this before driving away, because awesome food from a crew who cares, and having that kind of customer service. Is something everyone should be aware of. There are several Whataburgers on and around Kansas City. It this one in Blue Springs is the one marked as a favorite in my Teslas navigation. After a long drive from Omaha to KC, we stumbled into town tired, hungry, and ready for anything that wasn't trail mix or gas station chips. That's when we spotted the shining beacon of hope: Whataburger. Since we don't have them back home, it was basically a moral obligation to stop. We went classic with burgers, fries, onion rings, a shake, and yes, an apple pie. The jalapeño ranch and spicy ketchup? Game changers. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. The place was super clean and the staff could not have been friendlier. I ordered a small drink, but they were out of cups so they handed me a large instead. Free upgrade? Don't mind if I do. The real hero of the night, though, was the fried apple pie. Crispy outside, molten lava inside, and so good it deserved its own standing ovation. If they sprinkled it with cinnamon sugar, I might have written this review from the afterlife. All in all, it was the perfect ending to a long road trip evening. I spent time working in the Houston area over 20 years ago and enjoyed Whataburger many times. While traveling through the Kansas City area a few years ago I noticed this Whataburger while stopping for gas and couldn't resist. Have been back several times including a recent visit. Food was exactly how I remembered it. Service has always been friendly and I appreciate that they bring the order to you. Ordering on the kiosks or app is easy and I enjoy ordering that way. On my visits, the dining area was clean with plenty of seating and the drink dispensers worked. Since there is a gas station next door, this is a great location to grab some food after fueling my vehicle. read more

My Grandfather and I were returning home from visiting some family out in Lee's Summit and he decided to swing us by a new Whataburger place in Blue Springs. Neither of us have had Whataburger before and were like, "why not?" The lobby and work areas we could see while patiently waiting were nice and tighty. Rebecca, the employee who took our order in the front was very sweet and pleasant to talk with too during the entire process and all, but unfortunately a few small mistakes were made when our order was being prepared. I ordered the #2, which was the double meat burger with no onions and made it clear No Cheese, and somehow I ended up finding several slices of cheese on the sandwich. What made it weirder, was discovering them on the bottom of each meat patty lol.. Like, as if each meat patty was given it's own slice of cheese, then the stack was placed on the sandwich upside down. o___o The bottom cheese slice was between the heal of the bun and meat patty. This error occurred in the kitchen when the sandwich was made, because our receipt shows no cheese was added to my particular sandwich. My Aunt's sandwich, the "Avocado Bacon Burger" wasn't supposed to have any onions at all, and that isn't shown on the receipt either. So, I am not upset in any way at the restaurant for the extreme gut issues I brought upon myself by simply choosing to eat the burger knowing cheese was once on it. We did attempt to scrape off as much as we could, but there were still traces on the surface of both patties. We were tired, hungry, and our food was readily available at our fingertips. I've worked in many fast food places throughout my younger years and these things due occur. Especially in high-pressured, fast paced work environments. Quite often actually, but it is very crucial the message is made clear to the kitchen modification to orders should be followed. People's health depends on it, for the most part when such things are requested. Last night and early this morning was and Has been a bad time.. unfortunately.. -__- So other than all that, the overall experience was alright. I might return to another Whataburger during a road trip in the future and all, but actively not anytime soon. Second time at this location. They were super busy after the normal rush due to a bus load of people. They handled the crowd super well. We ate at the bar since the tables were full. I ordered off the kiosk since there was a line. Got the burger combo for my wife and it was very easy to customize it the way she wanted, switch to onion rings and a shake instead of a soft drink. I tried their fish which was the reason we went there. Very crispy. I was able to add pickles to tartar sauce with ease. Very friendly. Everything clean and kept up. I enjoyed the fish but normally I'd stick with the burger. Onion rings are really good. I got dinner ranch off the kiosk for them... Also easy. Scanned my app and got rewards credit. Then, the best ketchup on EARTH! So, I read previous reviews and a big complaint seemed to be how long they were taking. We pulled in on a Sunday afternoon, and they were HOPPIN'! Like there were hardly any tables available. And our food came out quickly and of proper temperature. Maybe they've worked out the kinks? We have given this chain 4 chances at two different locations. Each time I have gone to one of the two locations, I have had a problem with the meal from orders being wrong to the food not being what we had hoped for. Hamburgers that look and taste like pre-cooked patties held in hot water warmers to chicken sandwiches that were cold or not what was ordered. Now it's kiosk ordering, could get their tap and pay to work, they could see me struggling and didn't attempt to help until I commented on being done with them. The ones in Missouri have the hamburgers cooked elsewhere & then shipped to the restaurant. Then when you go to the Missouri locations they are microwaved & served to you. This was my probably my first time back at a Whataburger since we lived in Texas 10 years ago; and it did not disappoint! I was a little nervous with a full parking lot, but we only had one person in front of us and were waited on fairly quickly. Ordered a kids cheeseburger meal and a couple different burger meals for us. Tables were a little dirty, but it was busy and there was actually someone out in the lobby working on them. Food came out in about 5 minutes and was hot and fresh and tasted good. The nostalgia came out for sure! Only complaint was that my daughters burger didn't end up with cheese on it. I've been to Whataburger in TX and AL and they were good. This one is not. Chain restaurants should have their own category on Yelp, to be honest. They strive for mediocrity at best and management, while there is not really present. I went in with my kid at 5, There was a female employee with her girlfriend blocking the drink area as they talked and flirted with another male employee on the other side of that pass through. I did get thesilent, dirty, side eye as I said excuse me while I tried to get my unsweetened tea. Burgers and fries were cold. By the way, it's been 20 minutes, more customers had to ask them to move so they could get drinks, and they are still there. I will not be back. read more

We were passing through Kansas City and decided to stop Whataburger to see what the hype was all about. The restaurant is very clean and the staff was very polite with a first time customer. The hamburgers were surprisingly good, the lettuce was crisp and the onions grilled. The banana shake was excellent! If I could give zero stars, I would I put my order in 15 people come in behind me. I wait a half hour. I start seeing the people behind me getting served. I wait another 10 minutes and I go up to the cash register. I asked them where my order is and the manager of the store Alex looks at me blankly like huh I wonder where it is too Alex proceeds to go back and talk to the kitchen staff nobody knows where my order is, I request my $30 back that I've paid for two burgers and a french fry and I waste 40 minutes of my life. This is the third time eating at two different restaurants in two different states. Two times where for dinner and both times my food was cold. One time was for breakfast and it was good. I will not be eating at a Whataburger again. Received my food and drove 1/4 mile to hotel (already checked in so park and room to eat) before eating. Had to reheat the burger and onion rings in the microwave. This was after waiting 15 min in the drive through lane. I compare the burgers to a sonic burger. Sonic at least serves warm food.
