2 stars - food is adequate, when you get it and it's prepared properly. My wife went today, place the order, received a partial order and was told that was all, so she went in as there was a mistake. She got the rest of the food. Now, my next question is, how many people open all the food to ensure it's prepared and received the way it was ordered? That's right, not many, we check that it's there and get on, 3 pc is a 3 pc but some how only had 2 tenders...odd but okay, ordered a triple cheese plain, but received a double with a single slice of cheese...this is just incompetent and laziness. My family and I stopped in late Saturday night, and oh "Whatasurprise". We live in Ohio, so there is no Whataburger there, and I thought it was a fake chain from a movie or TV show, and was please let surprised. My mom loved the Strawberry Shake she had, said it was,"Rich and creamy, like they made the ice cream fresh" I enjoyed a chicken sandwich, the Whatasauce was interesting, this was one of the better fast food experiences I've had. I've never been to a Whataburger before. I've heard really good things about it and I was in the area, so I decided to drop in. It was everything that people have been talking about. No lines inside. Clean inside as well. Tonya was my cashier. She greeted me with friendliness and enthusiasm. I told her that it was my first visit and she took the time to explain to me the different items that they have to offer. I ordered a regular Whataburger and fries with an apple pie. We are native texans and traveled from Savannah, GA just to come get some whataburger. Beyond disappointed would be an understatement and wouldn't give justice to with how rude and ignorant the employees were. Not only did it take 1 hour in the drive thru but they entirely messed up our order then claimed we were lying, asked for the receipt then proceed to tell us we didn't order correctly. I wish I could give 5 stars but 3-4 just feels right--maybe because it's fast food? I remember all the late night Whataburger trips in college so I was pretty excited when I received a free "breakfast on a bun" coupon! I came in on a Saturday morning and was greeted almost immediately by the staff. Service was friendly and prompt. As they served the food, the person also brought out a tray of napkins, ketchup (with a spicy option) and some salsa selections as well. Cool! The restaurant was clean and I even saw staff taking it upon themselves to wipe down the equipment/tables when they weren't helping customers. It's very obvious that the folks here take pride in their restaurant. The ambiance was pretty standard for a fast food restaurant, but one thing that struck me as a little off was the mix of oldies music coming through the speakers. Maybe I'm just not the biggest fan. Okay, so the breakfast on a bun was delicious! Picture a sausage patty as the burger, an egg with cheese on top, nestled between two famous Whataburger buns! I added the spicy ketchup. After the fact I wished I had asked for some lettuce and tomato on the side to make it like a real burger! Oh well. Super friendly staff and excellent food. Not bad for a fast food restaurant! Wish I could give a negative number. First off the girl at the front taking orders acted like she had an attitude just to take orders. Secondly they were no tops for the cups, then when they did get tops we had to walk back to the counter to ask for them. We ordered at 2:00pm got our food at almost an hour wait. My burger was cold and wrong cause I asked for certain things. The family with kids next to us were traveling from Out of town ended up leaving after a hour and a half wait for no food. I returned the burger to let them know it was unacceptable. I can't remember his name but the Caucasian guy should be the manager, and was the only one to try to fix and make the orders right. After all this time and my food is cold the cheeses even isn't melted. Then the African American workers seemed like it was normal that it took that long and gave zero f**ks. On my way leaving there was this light skin kid sizing me up cause I complained about the food and the time it took while I was on my way out. I've turned my life over to Christ and god above, now the old me would have entertained that look. After all this time and people complaining even in the drive through. I didn't see the manager until I was on the way out, and the family next to us was asking for a refund after more than an hour and a half wait. My dining experience did not have me shouting the namesake. ;) First off, if value is more important to you than portion control then don't bother getting the Jr selections because the regular/full size is just $1 more. I wished I'd known that prior to ordering. In that case I would have got 1 full size version and saved over near $3.50. I had 2 Jr Monterey Melts (1 with texas toast) & and large onion rings. This cost $11.84 (see my pic). Frankly I would have been better off going to 5 Guys and been more satisfied and spent less $. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with my meal, it just wasn't "all that" particularly for the price and a 35 mile round trip. The burgers were just ok, barely. I was dissappointed given the expectation I'd drummed up by seeing pics of the Monterey Melt. It looked "oh so" good in the pics but the taste didn't measure up. The onion rings were pretty good but should have had a greater quantity for a large. This restaurant is in a good location though you have to go navigate through a busy parking lot, anchored by Publix, to get to it. I went through the drive-thru which was quick and efficient...no car was ahead of me. Well in summary: Meh. I've experienced better. I certainly won't be going out of my way to go to Whataburger anymore...in fact I'd go to any of the other major chains ahead of here. So I am an absolute huge fan of whataburger coming from Texas. I used to eat here at least once a week in Texas. It's been about three years since having my last whataburger. While in Jacksonville Florida, I stopped by a whataburger for the first time since Texas. I usually get the jalapeño and cheese burger with fries and plenty of ketchup however the burger just did not taste the same. Who doesn't love Whataburger? Only reason they don't get a 5 star is due to the service speed and accuracy. Tonight I went through the drive through to order a Whataburger meal and Whataburger Jr. Meal finally after 25 minutes in the driver through I paid for my order and left. Once arriving home both my drinks were root beer which is far from what I originally ordered and the fries well they were almost non existent. I figured with as long as it took that while they were back there killing the cows and cutting the potatoes that they could at least give me the normal proportion but nope not tonight. You know you have a problem when you are checking spirit air and hoping for $9 airfare just so you can fly to a city and eat a burger. This burger really truly impressed me as did the guy behind the counter who was almost as excited as me to have someone come in that had never tried these heavenly burgers. I arrived at this location at 7:50 am. At 8:06 am I was told that my order would take another 10 minutes. I was told that they were running behind. I love Whataburger and this location used to be amazing. Now the food is still good but they get our order wrong every single time. This past Saturday we made 3 trips back to get a bacon taquito. No special request. Just bacon taquito. My daughter came up at 6:30am and ordered through the drive through. She arrived back with sausage. We went back (she called and they agreed to remake it) and as we pulled away discovered again- sausage. Since we had a large trailer connected for an event we were trying to get to, it was not easy to turn around but I crossed the parking lot and got a 3rd remake that was what she ordered. Today I came for lunch and again my burger was missing the standard condiments which I specifically requested while ordering. The cashier that delivered it agreed to get the mustard and mayonnaise but instead went and starting ringing people up. I walked up and he said he would take care of my request in a few minutes. So eating my food while it's hot is not a priority, accuracy in fulfilling orders is not a reasonable expectation, and timeliness is not possible either. The customer service by the lady at the counter was non existent. So much so that I was paying attention to how she treated each customer after me, not once was she pleasant to anyone. She never spoke a word to anyone except for having to ask someone what kind of cookie they wanted for a kids meal.
