I don't get this place. I don't know why you need a free-standing building with a business name such as Whataburger for paddied burgers. This is McDonald's rebranded. Restaurant Location: Anderson, South Carolina I am very disappointed in both the product and service at this Whataburger location. I placed an order the other day, and not only were the chicken strips missing from the bag, but my mom's Whataburger was also made incorrectly--missing the grilled onions. To make matters worse, the onions that were included were raw instead of properly grilled, and the meat was tough and unappetizing. The only redeeming part of the meal was the shake, which was well-made and enjoyable. However, that's not enough to make up for the overall poor experience. This was especially frustrating because Whataburger has always held a special place in my family's heart. I grew up in Texas, and this was my father's favorite place to eat--it was the only hamburger he would eat when we were in Texas. If he saw what they served us, he would be shocked and angry. Whataburger was once known for quality and consistency, but this visit was nothing like the experience I remember. Let me just start by saying, half of our family is from Texas, so we're used to eating Whataburger regularly there. I didn't have high expectations for the Georgia locations because I honestly just didn't think it would be the same. Boy was I wrong... We love this location and will continue to come back over and over again. The food is well worth the wait and if you don't feel like waiting, it's really easy to order in the app as you leave the house or wherever you're coming from so that when you get there, you can join the pickup line inside and either dine in or head on our with your selections! The rewards program is also one of the best when it comes to fast food, so we use it frequently to save money. The fries are by far my favorite and the size of the sauces are more than adequate. We actually buy the Whataburger ketchup for our home because it's just THAT much better than any other brand we've tried. The last thing I have to brag on is the soft drinks. Everyone talks about a McDonald's Sprite or a McDonald's Coke, but that doesn't even hold a candle to Whataburger soft drinks. Their ice is just an added bonus . So I tried this whataburger for the first time! I love how they have breakfast until 11am! The ladies at the drive thru were very sweet and thorough given it was me and my moms first time coming. I ordered the breakfast platter with bacon and my mom got it with sausage! The bacon was cooked perfectly - it was just how I like it! The hashbrowns were a bit oily but nonetheless pretty good! The eggs were super cheesy and yummy! The biscuit was not my favorite part but it was good. Overall I give Whataburger breakfast platter a 8.5/10 and my mother gave it a 9/10. I was stoked to try this wildly popular Texas burger chain when they opened their first restaurants in metro Atlanta, but after spending more than 30 minutes in their horribly managed drive-thru (their dining room was inexplicably closed the evening I dropped by), I headed back to my hotel room with a cold, mediocre burger and soggy fries. Even at 9 p.m., the double-drive-thru line snaked back into Chastain Rd, and there were no menus posted anywhere in sight. Having reviewed their website while sitting in line, I was ready with my order as soon as I rolled up to the clerk who was walking between cars with an iPad and mobile card reader. But it took another 15 minutes for someone to walk my order out to my car and then ANOTHER 15 - 20 minutes for the cars ahead of me in line to clear out so I could leave. While I sat, trapped in the drive thru with my bag of food, at least 3 employees came up to my window and tried giving me someone else's order. After 15 minutes, I finally lost it and asked why they couldn't park the waiting cars ahead of me in an empty spot so the rest of us could leave. The employees were rude and disorganized, and there didn't appear to be a manager in sight to take things in hand. The cheeseburger I ordered was decent, but not remotely worth the absurd wait and terrible service I was subjected to. If Whataburger hopes to compete in Atlanta's competitive fast food environment, it's gonna have to do a lot better than this. I won't be back. read more

We'd been to one in Destin & liked it fine, so have been waiting for a chance to visit the new one here in Kennesaw - the first in the area, which opened a few months back, I think fall of '22. Dining room still closed for some reason, so drive-through lines are crazy long. They're setup for double lanes, but still took 25 minutes. It was a good burger & fries. Unsweetened tea also good. Thicker burger compared to some. Again, good, but I'm not sure I get the cult-like following of some. Maybe it's more about a history some have with the brand. Thought I would stop by this place for the first time ever and try it out. There was a really long wait in the drive-thru, completely backed up but the worst part was they were not communicating just walking around inside the restaurant and not telling anybody what's going on. Then finally a guy comes to the window and asked what my order was. When the wait was finally too long, I went inside to ask for my money back. My first time here. Wanted to try their burgers. Went at lunch time. Ordered a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onions and heavy mayo - meal. My go to burger. Cost $12.86. Went inside to eat. Cashier was very friendly, offered suggestions, etc. Oh, told could not take any cash for another 20 minutes. Had no cash in her drawer. I usually pay with cash. After ordering, it took about 10 minutes for a runner to bring my try of food. Server had a try full of condiments and offered what I wanted. So burger was well presented, nicely wrapped. Fries were cold. How could that be? Drive through was five cars deep, inside was mostly full! Cashier said orders take 5-10 minutes because made to order. The burger was well prepared as it should be. It is large, plenty of food. After a few minutes, I told the runner my fries were cold. He brought another bag in a few minutes, and said sorry and I'm sure these are hot. I really don't like their shoe string fries. They taste like frozen fries from the grocery store. Nothing better than average at best. I compare this meal to the double butter cheese burger at Culver's. I feel both are equal, but the Whataburger is a little bigger. Culver's meal is around $11. I tried it out on a Friday evening at 8:40, waited about 20 minutes in line. They were out of onion rings and one of the dessert items. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The food was brought to my table without any condiments or utensils. A friendly staff member came by and asked if I needed anything and I asked for napkins. After a few minutes I went to go get some and he was talking with someone and said oh yeah napkins and went and got them for me. The fries had the right amount of crisp and were tasty and the cheeseburger was nothing to right home about. I wasn't offered a choice on buns as listed on the menu and would've preferred a different type than the standard. The burger was a decent size, it just didn't taste great, only so so. I had the patty melt, fries and a fountain drink. The bread on the patty melt was a bit burned, but not too bad. The meat tasted good, but was cooked well done as is the standard in fast food places. Fries were similar to McDonalds in size and taste. Dipping sauces are available. I has the ranch sauce and it was good. I did not try a shake and I don't like ketchup, so I did not try these signature items. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was clean and well managed. I will put it above BK and McDonalds. It reminds me most of Hardees. Definitely not in the same league as Five Guys. read more

The location on Chastain is finally open for dine in! They were so full inside that they were not letting anymore people in until some came out. Their kitchen was really busy with dine in and drive thru orders, as the drive thru line was still wrapped outside their parking lot. Once I got inside, they only had one person taking orders. It took probably 15min to place my order and another 15min to get my food. The burger is as fantastic as their reputation beholds. The fries, however, looked fresh but were overcooked. Fortunately, their fancy ketchup masked the "old" taste of the fries. Overall, the burger was phenomenal and worth the wait...but in the future, please do not over-cook the fries! Don't bother to FLY to Whataburger in Kennesaw, you just might have an awful experience as I did on this past Monday. After leaving a doctor's appointment, I decided to go and get the long awaited and anticipated "Whataburger" meal with cheese, since I was in the area. I chose to go inside to order my to-go meal. I couldn't wait to get home (back across town to Austell) so that I could enjoy every bite. Well, my little bucket of joy soon diminished, when I got home. Due to the heat, I had sipped most of my drink through my straw to be quenched, I went to replenish my cup with some soda I had in the fridge, but OMG, as I took off the top and looked into the cup, I was sickened to find I had been sipping a drink filled with a FLY FROZEN in the ice!!!! I immediately got on the phone and called back to Whataburger to speak with the Manager, who happened to be an operating partner. As I was explaining to him about finding the fly in my drink/ice, all he could say was I'm sorry and that he would break down the machine to see how it could have gotten there. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT GOT IN THERE!! I thought I deserved more than " he didn't know how that could have happened"; I felt he was trying to blame me somehow. I don't recall getting an apology, a come back to the store or have a meal on us OR ANYTHING! He didn't even take my name or any type of contact information from me. All he kept repeating was that he will make sure to break down the machine, I guess for cleanliness! In my opinion, the situation was not handled professionally or with any type of "trying" to provide CUSTOMER CARE! I wonder how he would have felt to open his cup and see a dead fly FROZEN to a piece of ice within the cup he had been sipping his drink from. I don't know where that fly came from, all I know it was a dead fly and it was sickening. I shared with him that I was reporting this incident to the Cobb/Douglas County Health Dept. All he said was "I guess you have to do what you have to do". I wish I had been an inspector, I would have shut his operation down and suggested for him to seek advice on customer care. I may be one little old lady, but I am one little old lady who will stop patronizing his location and who will encourage others to follow. I have reported this to the Health Department and will follow up to request an inspection so that others won't have to experience such a gross experience. I was near this Whataburger having repair work done on my car. I decided to try them for the first time, ever. I should have driven past. It wasn't good at all. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger meal with no bun. I was asked if all the vegetables would be ok and did I want mustard and ketchup. I said "yes" to all of that. What I got was a fork, no knife, no napkins, no mustard, no ketchup, flavorless fries and a sad, tiny hamburger patty. I work too hard for my money to waste it here again.
