I saw a guy taking out the trash if the thing was broken but he didn't know because he was just taking out the trash. I went ahead and moved forward and had to tell them at the window what I wanted. I've been to this location several times and usually the food is good and service is decent. Last night I went with my wife and the drive thru took forever, like the 2 people in front of me must have ordered everything on the menu slow. Once we finally got to the window and got our food, we realized after we left that the 2 ranches and 1 honey barbecue sauce we ordered was not in the bag at all, no sauces given outside of ketchup. Came with my family from out of state Washington and decided to see what whataburger is all about. Whataburger with cheese and an order of onion rings is the most comforting of comfort food meals I can get at any restaurant. Been eating Whataburgers since I was a kid going with my dad, who ate them for decades before me. Yup - guess you could say I'm a second generation Phoenix Whataburger-er. It's the only fast food I crave. Their fries are awfully good too. I think they still use real fat. And where else can you get a diet Dr. Pepper to go with your 2 Million calorie meal? I've never been to a Whataburger. I'm from Florida on vacation here in Phoenix and this was next to our Airbnb. It was okay. They got our order right. The fries were a little cold but cooked (I saw some reviews said they received frozen uncooked fries- luckily that wasn't the case for us). Kinda tasted like McDonald's fries. The burgers are huge!!! Lol. I got a double, the cheese wasn't melted and the burger was cold. Luckily we went straight to our Airbnb and was able to put the burgers in the microwave. I'm giving 3 stars because it was yummy, but cold food isn't good. Luckily we had access to a microwave right away. But if you don't.... you'll probably get cold food too. Picked up my Whataburger meal #1 w/cheese and when I got home I found the fries as the only edible food in the bag. The drink was overfilled and had no ice. The burger was ice cold, the cheese hadn't melted, the buns were cold and hard, and the meat looked 2 days old, was overcooked and half (yes half) the meat was missing. I called to discuss and couldn't tell the idiot on the phone how much, exactly, I paid because the receipt only had what I ordered and not the amount. This place owes me around $10. Ugh I should have learned by now that this location is gross and they always screw something up. They charge you for sauce and then don't put it in your bag. You can "customize" your burger but it wont matter, they'll screw it up. Today I payed for sauces and only got 1 and it was opened and dumped all over my food. Don't even think of coming to this location not only does this place have quite possibly the worst customer service in the world but it's being run by teenagers who feel entitled to argue scream and yell at you regardless of who you are. The girl at the drive-thru was wearing a hairnet as a face mask when I asked she said it was okay and authorized by corporate. After having a very good experience there the other day I decided to give them a try for a quick breakfast. They serve breakfast from 11pm-11am! WIN right there! It was barely 6am and again, friendly service! I don't even remember the last time I ate fast food for breakfast. I had a Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage Biscuit and a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. A bit of a wait which was fine because it was made to order for me. Came out hot and was pretty damn good! Hash Browns were a bit boring and simple, but still cooked well. I can sum this up pretty easy now. THIS is what fast food was like everywhere 40-50yrs ago before Corporate America took over trying to pinch pennies and sacrificing quality. Probably not going to be going back for awhile because I generally don't eat like this, but great to know there is a pretty good 24HR option if I am hungry!
