After leaving the Algonquin earlier this evening, my sisters and I needed to find a place to eat. We've always loved Wheatfields. I ran in to see if we could get a table and the hostesses were awesome. It took them a little time, but they managed to find us a table, our server, Angela was the absolute best. She had our drinks within two minutes of us sitting down. She was attentive, personable always smiling. So refreshing after the last place we were at. She was constantly asking if we needed anything while she was taking care of many other tables. Shechecked on us continuously always had our drink orders ready. This is the best service I've received in a very long time, it made our dinner that much more enjoyable I would highly recommend Wheatfields to anyone. The food was amazing, the service outstanding. The drinks were great. One of our favorite places in Saratoga. Thank you Angela for making our night a great one. I appreciate the tiramisu for my birthday as well. You're the best! read more

Nice place with good deck for outdoor dining. I blew it with the chicken bruschetta wrap. Although fresh and plentiful, the choices others made were much better. The Bolognese (Bolo) and Chicken riggis were far superior. Chix parm also very good. Drinks were great as was our server. read more

My party joined up with another group already sitting down at Wheatfields. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us too. Service was slightly delayed, but nothing completely unmanageable. The server was definitely polite and helpful. I decided to go with the margherita pizza. The pizza was decent. Instead of sauce, this margherita featured fresh tomatoes which added a sweetness to the pie. I wish there were a few more tomatoes to balance out the cheese. The crust and base were thin and bready. The base of the pizza had a heavier coat of cornmeal than I'm used too, but it didn't overpower things too much. It was an OKAY visit. We had a long day at work and we thought we'd go into town for dinner. This place was well rated through trip advisor. The hostess was very young, however I was a bit surprised how she was dressed. Our waitress was also young, but very kind. The food was okay also. We had ordered waters when we sat, and she asked if we wanted tap or Saratoga water. Saratoga water sounded nice. $9.00 for a bottle that is sold everywhere else in this town for less than$3. In addition the wine we ordered was delicious, but it was so overpriced I couldn't even fathom. A bottle is $12-13 in any store, yet they charge $12.00 a GLASS. The chicken from the chicken Parmesan was excellent, but the past was very strange. The table bread was very good, but the waitress kept making us feel rushed and tried to take the bread bowl as well as another diners glass of wine when they were not at all empty. She even waited for the last piece to be buttered so she could take the butter dish. It was weird. I know good help is hard to find, but that was not a good look. Overall- 3/5 stars. read more

Mother's day most likely has a factor in this review so first off ...looking online last years mothers day menu was still up so we were dissapointed in that this year was not the same menu. 2 had omelets which were ok a bit dry..1 had red flannel hash which was mushy and tasteless and cold. The poached egg was wet. Another had eggs Benedict, which the order did not come out correctly so had to wait for new order. Only good thing really was the bottomless mimosas. All on all dissapointed with whole experience. Service just ok. If you cannot get a special day like this correct ... don't do it at all. Tired of paying for mediocre food in general !!! We went on our last night of our trip which was a Monday. They had Happy Hour in the bar area that evening. My Husband and I enjoyed half off priced drinks, fried ravioli appetizer, complementary cheese& crackers and fried seasoned pasta noodles (I've never seen this but was a crunchy pub mix esq snack). My husband had the chicken parmigiana with fresh house made pasta. I had the pork chop special with a unique take on a cranberry stuffing and garlic green beans. Both very tasty. Would NOT recommend eating here. Ownership or management must have changed in the past few years. I ate at this Wheatfields with a party of 6 last weekend. Unfortunately, no one enjoyed their food, and only 2 enjoyed their drinks (good cosmo and a good beer). The dirty martinis did not taste like a dirty martini at all. It was what we imagined a dirty sock to taste like. The menu advertises wood stone pizza, however it is a premade shell that somewhat resembles a tortilla. The pesto pasta has zero taste. After we left the restaurant, we were discussing how bad the meal was and a woman turned around on the street and said "you must have gone to wheatfields". wish I was kidding! Hadn't planned a visit to Wheatfields, but I'm glad I did. Their FOH staff ranks better than most in town. The covered front patio was much appreciated. Food was delicious, however, the sauces could easily make or break your opinion. Mixed drinks were fun; wine selection was meh. Lots of delicious options for a mid-range price. They were able to accommodate our walk-in group of 6 for a late lunch both inside and outside, as well as swveral dietary requests (no bread for Passover, not including certain veggies on the salads). It was hard to decide what to order between the lobster salad special, the mac n cheese, and the shrimp and spinach scampi. I opted for the latter but didn't really like the thick, textured noodles (personal taste) and kind of wished I had opted for the Caesar salad like my neighbor. Hard to say if this place is good or not. Went for lunch on a Friday after driving up from NJ. Hostess seated us directly across from the bar. We sat there for at least 15 min. Another hostess came over and asked if she could get us a drink and apologized. Said our server would be over but service bar was busy. The bartender was our server! Ten more minutes and we left. I really liked it! Was in town for a wedding, and this was the choice for the rehearsal dinner. They accommodated approx 20 of us, at a long table, comfortably, and the service was great!!! The food wasn't shabby either! I was on the fence between many menu items and went with something I don't have as often, from that evening's specials, which was the pork chop. It was good, but my bf's chicken Marsala was like to die for! I did regret not ordering it. And their special whipped, herbed butter-omg!! I'm not normally a bread person, but a: this bread was warm and delicious b: this butter!!! They should bottle it, and sell it! As a matter of fact, I asked the waitress if, in fact, they did, lol! We arrived into town nearing 11 pm so it was no time to be picky. They were close to empty but happy to seat us. Our service, very good! Food, adequate. Put it this way, if I prepared the chicken parm, I would be mad at myself! The chicken breast was a nice portion but thick and burnt. Food was great! A few things that have caused us to air our grievances 1. charged $8.00 for an order of bread for our table. 2. We had 3 couples at our table and they would not take 3 credit cards divided evenly. (Only 2 credit cards) 3. Up charged $3.00 to a margarita from $16 to $19, which was served in a water glass. I'd love to give this place 5 stars, however, my girlfriend got the ravioli and within a few hours had bathroom problems. We went as a party of 7, with reservations, and you will need reservations at this time of the year with the track going on. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Our party had ravioli, chicken parmesan, linguine with clams and a few other dishes! Like I said, everything tasted amazing and the plates were empty afterwards. But my girlfriend had problems with the ravioli a few hours after which is the only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars. Our waitress was training someone else and we only saw the trainee once and our actual waitress a few times. We didn't really mind the slow service, as we didn't need anything extra. We went here after walking past it and it looked and smelled good. We sat on the patio which was really nice, and the people were really friendly around us and we got to talking to them. Our waiter was a character and entertained us the whole time. We ordered the arancini appetizer. It came with for arancini balls with sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes inside with a cream sauce. I ordered a pasta dish with mushrooms. It was good. My friend ordered a spicy pasta dish, which is spicier than she expected. The bread was really good with a lemon garlic butter. They gave us an extra loaf of bread to take home and packed up our leftovers. I enjoyed a watermelon sangria, it was good. Definitely a nice atmosphere and an interesting waiter. Super nice guests. I'd probably try another place, but it was fun. Kind of reminded me of Little Italy in New York City. read more

Went there for Brunch last Sunday and was disappointed to say the least. The menu was sparse and the actual food was awful. Why would they serve French toast smeared with strawberry jam? Why would they put disgusting marinated tomatoes under eggs Benedict? (Menu said Fire roasted tomatoes) . I LOVE Eggs Benedict but this was inedible. To the manager's credit, he removed it from the bill. To the manager's discredit, he did not comp the entire meal and beg us to return . I've been to Wheatfields twice so far...and it's definitely hit or miss. Aesthetically, it's a very nice place with ample outside seating when the weather permits. My first visit last year was decent - friendly, quick service and very good food. My colleagues enjoyed everything they had and my pizza was fresh and tasty. We tried a couple of cocktails and they were quite good, too. Our second visit (again - with colleagues) wasn't as good. It took quite a long time to just get attention to place drink orders; we actually considered leaving (as 2 of the people at the table were so hungry that they were ready to eat their own arms). We shared some appetizers and the main dishes were bland and so-so. The homemade pasta had a strange texture (as per one of the folks at the table). The caesar salads were also not great, unfortunately. I'll probably go there again at some point to give it another shot - but as far as Italian food goes, it's just OK. read more

Our server was very friendly. I believe his name was Jerry. He is great at his job and we didn't want for anything! We got some appetizers. The calamari was spicy and oh so good! We also had fried rice balls. I wasn't a fan but my dinner mates loved them. We split a bottle of wine. If I could spell it I would but it was white and delicious! I got the special, shrimp and scallops scampi over angel hair. It lacked flavor (I.e. Garlic) and the pasta was sticky and clumpy. It was drowning in butter. Eh. Everyone else loved their meals (pizza and I forget what the other two got). It was a nice atmosphere right in the heart of Saratoga. I'd come back for the calamari and perhaps a pizza. A friend of mine and I went to dinner on Christmas Eve and we, unfortunately, were extremely disappointed. We sat for 20 minutes prior to placing our order and 30 minutes just for the bread and butter brought to the table. The waitress was not knowledgable about the menu and described my entree incorrectly. The service was extremely poor in that our waitress only came to our table twice; I had to flag her down and ask for more water. Additionally, the restaurant and restrooms were not clean. On a slow day I've had a better experience, but was very disappointed with this experience on a special holiday. read more

We were the only four people of color at the restaurant, and received especially negative treatment from the general manager, DALLAS. We made a reservation for dining inside as it was a cold and rainy day, but when we came we were seated outside and were promised to be seated inside as soon as possible, however the manager reset our line in the queue for the inside seating when we specifically were promised by the host that we would not lose our line in the queue even if we're temporarily seated outside. The general manager, Dallas, gaslighted me and my partner for inquiring further about why our seats took so long (50 minutes), even though there were ample seats inside. Dallas exclaimed that he would not speak to me further because I raised my voice, but in fact it was him scolding me and asserted verbal violence against a Bipoc woman. We were upset by this racist and sexist behavior in a seemingly liberal and welcoming town, and asked for our bill immediately without waiting for our food further (the food took way longer than expected). Dallas then came to us and delivered a half-baked apology, and we cannot accept this apology and would like the restaurant to improve their management training or they may continue to lose customers from diverse populations. read more
