Disappointing Experience I had a confirmed 8:00 AM appointment on Thursday, August 27 to have new tires installed. When I arrived, I was informed that my tires had not been delivered. Unfortunately, I received no phone call or email beforehand letting me know, so I made the trip unnecessarily. I was rescheduled for 8:00 AM the following morning. I arrived on time Friday, but it took approximately 3.5 hours to install and balance my tires. While waiting, I also observed several interactions between the service representative and other customers that I felt were unnecessarily rude and defensive. Two customers ultimately left without having their vehicles serviced. The representative did apologize to me for the long wait when it was time to pay, which I appreciated. However, after two appointments, poor communication, a 3.5-hour wait, and the overall customer service I observed, I left very disappointed with the experience. I understand that delays happen and businesses sometimes get short-staffed. My biggest issue was how those circumstances were communicated and handled. There are other automotive shops in Vallejo that I would feel more comfortable giving my business to in the future. read more

I arrived here in the morning to order a wheel and was instructed to return at 3 PM. Upon arriving at 3 PM, I waited for an additional hour only to be informed that the tires were not available, but later I was told that the tire had actually arrived earlier. They appear to be quite disorganized here. There was an issue with insurance or a claim related to the tire package I purchased from the dealer. They advised me to pay out of pocket, even though the insurance company stated that they would cover the cost. Conversely, they mentioned a discount for those without insurance, but then they inflated the prices for those with insurance. Ben, who seemed to be either the owner or the manager, was all over the place and disorganized, failing to keep his promises. The staff there also exhibited a similar lack of organization and seemed unaware of what was happening. I don't why this place is rated low, I came in with my truck having a speed wobble at 65 to 75 mph and bing bang boom, "alignment, weights and balancing" 80 bucks and I'm back on the road. It's my first time in this place. My car tire had nails on it and I needed it fix right away that day, I called around 5pm and they are closed at 6pm. Devin on front desk told me oh if you can come within 15 min we can help you. I went there and came around 5:18 , there's 2 cars they are still working on but almost done, he checked me in and they were able To fix my car and oh I didn't pay anything because he used a coupon so I was great value! Zero customer service and dirty. I gave them all my business for all my cars for years. Last visit I found that the regular guys that had been there so long were gone. The waiting area now had about 2 pounds of dirt and dust buildup. The phone rang and rang and no one cared. The shop area was a mess. One worker got tangled in some junk left on the floor and almost fell. Next attempt to give them my money. Called repeatedly over about 6 hrs. No one bothered to pick up. So I made an online apt. for the next day. They called THE MORNING OF the appointment and told me THEY CANCELLED my appointment (Sunday when most other shops are closed !) I asked if they could help me the next day to fix my tire. THEY SAID NO THEY WILL NOT give me an appointment for the next day either. So much for taking care of loyal customers. And they can say bye bye to selling me the four new tires I had planned to ask about during my small repair visit. Something has caused Wheelworks to screw up the good customer service it had for years. Desperate to get my car on the road, and DUMPED by Wheelworks I found Vallejo Wheels and Tires. They are open Sundays and they answer the phone on the first try. They fixed my tire in about 5 minutes. read more

Came by today to have my car checked out. Last week I was too busy and decided to go to another place to get an oil change. Well, I regret getting an oil change elsewhere. My car immediately started making a noise and I took it back. They assured me the noise I was hearing was nothing. So today while at my favorite place "Wheel Works", they thoroughly checked out everything as well as some additional things I complained about. I have been coming for the past 2-2 1/2 years and as a woman I appreciate how much they look out for me. They provided discounts, they explained everything and even provided images. One of the issues I brought the car in for I was clearly way over the miles, which had I not been would have still been under warranty. Stressed about it because it was clearly going to be close to $1,000, they were able to still do it under the warranty which saved me all of that money. All they did was thank me for being a loyal customer. Ben, Hector and I think Devin are just some of the wonderful guys I have encountered there. Ben, especially calling, emailing and just making sure as a customer that he helps from start to finish. I have dealt with some shady places and clearly not knowing about cars have been taken advantage of but this is one place you don't have to worry about. read more

Definitely not pleased with my overall experience with wheel works. I was initially happy with my service as it was quickly done. However, the events that happened after the initial fix was very frustrating. I brought my car in for a tire repair on my rear passenger side tire. Had my car towed from my house where I initially saw the flat as to not worsen the issue. Upon arrival, I was helped quickly since I was early. I was told that the tire could not be repaired due to a blade in the tire so I agreed to the replacement. I was in and out within an hour with a bill of about $275. The next day my TPMS sensor went off so I brought it back in. I had to insist for them to reset it which they eventually obliged and the sensor disappeared. The TPMS sensor went off again the next day and I brought it back in. They assessed and told me that because it was only one new tire that got replaced, that was most likely causing the issue because the 3 other tires had lesser tread (tires were 2 years old) and throwing off the balance, so the recommendation was to replace all tires. I feel that this should have been disclosed up front when I initially brought in my car that that could be an issue. Having to bring in my car 3 days in a row was inconvenient and overall ruined my experience here. Just be upfront and transparent to help your customer who comes to you. I would've been okay doing business here but not anymore since it wasn't advised with my initial visit. Experiences like this are exactly why people are discouraged at car repair businesses and more likely to not trust them. read more

I have been using this location for many years for basic wheel alignment without issue until now when using the Lifetime Alignment and Wheel Balance vehicle I purchased for my vehicles. Recently I took in my daughters school car for preventative maintenance I scheduled a morning appointment for alignment, balance any tire rotation and oil change. When I brought the vehicle in it was running fine and had no issues then 6 hours after dropping it off issues started. The engine was shuddering and there were tapping noises so I called and spoke to the Wheel Works manager and was told it may be the "engine lifters", which didn't make any sense given that the motor is a newer upgraded motor that I had installed by my mechanic that specializes in high performance track and show cars. The motor had been running flawlessly without any issues prior to going to Wheel Works, that said I took the car to my mechanic and he diagnosed the issues this is what he found, Wheel Works did not change the oil, the oil was dirty as if was out of a vehicle that was heavily driven, which is not the case I purchased the vehicle new in 2006 and have averaged 7000 miles per year and have only used premium full synthetic oil and it's changed twice yearly. The second thing that caught my mechanic eye was the missing wheel center cap, which exposed the cotter pin which helps to hold the wheel on the car. The cotter pin is very important if it were to come out or rust from exposure to moisture the wheel could literally fall off. Then there was an oil stain left on the passenger seat because the technician did not use seat cover or floor covering. The fuse box was hanging and not clipped in place as it was prior to going to Wheel Works. After leaving the car with my mechanic he was able to fix the issues, in time for my kid to be able to have it ready to drive safely before her leaving on her trip to the University in Southern California. Needless to say I won't be using Wheel Works anymore in the future for any of my vehicles needs. Honestly at first I was thinking this poor service was Wheel Works way of breaking the Lifetime Alignment Contract(s) I paid for because if they don't have you making other service purchases tires, wheels, repairs etc.. it wouldn't be to their advantage. Also to be noted the car was not driven as it normally would be prior to alignment or after wheel alignment and tire balancing. read more

Ain't gonna lie, had some doubts going in per these reviews and had my bar set kinda low. But, thankfully I can report that the shop put those doubts to rest. Ebay had a special whereby if you purchased tires, they (eBay) would pay a shop to install them for you. Pretty fair deal in my book, as the going rate at most shops for tire installation is about $25 a tire. Wheel Works and Pep Boys near me were they 2 choices I had. I went with Wheel Works, because my experience using Pep Boys has been less than satisfactory (usually kids just out of apprenticeship). All the crew I experienced here at Wheel Works however were friendly, cordial and customer respectful. And above all, know their business. They've got 5 service bays and are fully staffed for pretty rapid turnover of cars. Comfortable waiting area with an overhead flat screen TV, customer-accessible restroom and an ADA-compliant service counter. Lead manager guy on duty who's name I didn't get was running a tight ship and keeping customers fully informed. Couldn't find much of anything to fault them on, so this 5 star review was fully earned. Great job guys, and keep up the good work! read more

I brought my vehicle to have them check the right back tire. My appointment was at noon, I drop the car off by 9:30 AM which was convenient for me. By 4:30 PM. I had not heard anything so I called and they tell me it was just in the shop and would take about 45 minutes, so I waited till about 5:30 PM and they told me it was ready. Again, not even a phone call. Let me know it was ready for pick up when I arrived. The guy at the counter tells me what is recommended repair underneath the hood they had no reason checking underneath the hood of my car. My car wad there to have a tire fixed. The guy indicated an estimate underneath the hood was almost $1700. I went to the back of the car to put something in it and when I opened it they had taken the spare tire down and I had to put everything back. Poor service would never go there again and I just went for a simple tire repair. read more

Wish I could give zero stars.. TLDR: This shop is slow, lazy, and doesn't stick to their word. And apparently creating an appointment doesn't mean anything because they completely disregarded my appointment time... I called and created an appointment 2 days out, for Friday at 11am. Dropped my truck off early and went to work. Came back after work at 4pm (no phone call update from the shop) and the truck was still in the same parking spot. I was told the brake guy needed a second opinion and the "second opinion guy" was busy, you cant pause what you're doing for 5 seconds to take a look at something..? I expressed to the shop my brakes needed to be replaced that same day as I had a road trip planned that weekend.. They said the shop would stay late to get me taken care of, but they didn't call me back until 30mins prior to closing with the report of what needed to be done and they wouldn't service the truck same day. I had to leave and take my truck elsewhere the next day... This shop clearly doesn't respect appointments and doesn't have its priorities straight, not to mention the lowest level of professionalism I've ever seen at a wheel works. They have always done a great job, been helpful in multiple ways and look out for their customers best interest without taking advantage of us. BEN in the office handles the place with expertise, goes the extra mile for customers and maintains a kind/professional demeanor no matter what is going on. This place stays busy, so be understanding if you're on hold or if your car is in the shop for a while. I've stayed several times while my car gets serviced & can attest that this crew is doing their absolute best. Again, Ben is currently leading this place at the highest level I have seen it operating. Highly recommend them for your needs, wheel works is constantly running deals/promotions you can benefit from. I dropped my car here to replace all 4 tires with brand new set. They called to let me know car was ready for pick up. I went back and I always double check my car now whenever I get services done. Was a good thing I checked because they put the wrong brand of tires on. Had to talk to the manager about it. All he offered was an apology and some discounts ish ( wasn't much discount at all after all the inconveniences, you'll see as you continued to read ) and sad to say the incompetent employee who worked on my car did not even apologized at all. I decided to let it go since the manager did apologized but when I came back to pick up my car the second time. Got home and couldn't find my wheel lock key ( so inconvenience ). Like you would think they will place key onto my passenger seat or side door. Third trip to the shop asking for my key. Apparently the guy who worked on my car misplaced it. They apologized and ordered a new set for me for free so I let this incident go again even though it was very inconvenience. Thought I didn't have to deal with them anymore so a few days went by while driving my car to work with new tires thinking I am safe with my new tires. Turned out they didn't install my TMPS properly back onto one of the tire. My tire pressures sensors keep lighting up at this point. That one specific tire pressure keeps decreasing to a 9 while going 70 mph on the freeway while the rest were normal pressure. This scared the crap of me. I know damn well I barely driven anywhere far since got the new tires in so can't be damaged that quick. They messed up my tire and now I gotta go to another shop to fix this issue. Wasted more time and money. If I hadn't checked the tires pressure on dashboard then who knows what would've happened? An accident or worse. These ppl at this shop DO NOT care about you nor your car! Probably doesn't test drive or double check everything was installed properly and placed correct tires on. Like I said if you care about your life please save yourself and go elsewhere unless you want to risk your life on the freeway with some tire issue surprises. I think the manager should reevaluate his employees and do drug tests here and there. If I can turn back time, I would've NEVER taken my car here. I have been bringing my vehicles to these guys for a few years now and have always left satisfied. BOTCH JOB TWICE... JEOPARDIZING MY SAFETY... tire replacements were done at wheel works in vallejo like August 2022 then after few days i keep on inflating my tire so i had to take it to les schwab in crescent city for the staff to fix the flat tire where wheel works botched tire replacement and didn't fix flat tire.. Next, i had my oil change last oct 28,2022 so the sensor on the dashboard telling me to add/ replace oil last Dec 1 till Dec 7 so i keep adding motor oil and called smith repair mobile technician to fix their botch job where they didn't tighten up the oil filter which almost cost me $200 including 9 quarts of motor oil for engine.. i have to see the manager tomorrow and ask for refund for their botch job and hustle it costs me.. read more

I had a rental car from Enterptise rental located onSonoma Street in Vallejo, California. I had a screw in my tire. I took my car back to enterprise rental car for advice. They sent me to wheel Works which is right down the street from their shop. They say they do business with them whenever they're there is a problem with tires. I left my car with them at around 10:30 AM in the morning they told me it would take a couple hours before they could get to the car to fix the repair of the tire. I called them several hours after I had dropped my car off no one ever answered the phone. When I went to get my car at 5:00 PM it was still not ready it was still sitting there and not repaired . I went in to ask if my car was ready and he told me no it wasn't in it was up on the rack. I had to wait an additional hour to get my car repaired and they close at 6.00 pm and that's when I got my car at 6,00 pm . I am disgusted of the shop I and their service. I will not go back again. So this is soooo typical of wheel works! You drop off your car at opening, only car on the lot!! Ask for a alignment. They tell you they will call when it's done. 5:45pm!! Your car is ready!! Seriously?? Took you guys over 8 hours!!! Not to mention I drove passed wheel Wroks and my car was on the lift at 9am and was off the lift at 10am!!!! Why would you wait till closing time to call me?? I even called at 11am 12pm and 1pm!! No answer!!! This isn't the first time this has happened, no clue to why they wouldn't want to call the customer when the car is ready.. Each time there were new cars on the lift and my tire was still waiting. At 3:50 came back again (with a new set of cars on lift) and it was still not done.
