Made an appointment online for this morning, came in to get 2 tires & was given attitude for "not making an appointment and checking what tires we have in stock". There was only one choice of a brand that I have never heard of. No other suggestions or recommendations were made by the guy helping me. I also made sure to indicate online that I would be waiting for my vehicle and he flatly said "so you're leaving your car right? We close at 6." That was more of a statement than a question. Also, I had to repeat myself a few times since apparently his mind was clearly somewhere else. After 20 minutes I decided to take my car down the street to another shop. What horrible service! The gentleman at the counter said 2 hrs he would call, note on the door said they were closing at 5 due to staff meeting. So, by 4:30 no call, I have someone drop me off and notice my car was on the rack. Still waiting for 30 minutes. They were super reasonable, accommodating by allowing me to leave the tire and finish errands. Less than an hour passed and I was called back so that they could put the tire back on. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! We came to this place after trying to plug a nail hole in our tire. We specifically asked if they could patch over a plug that didn't work. They said yes. Took our info, took our car to the back. Then after 40 minutes the guy comes back to tell us that they can't patch over a plug. So then I brought to his attention that we were told that it could be done. Then the guy says that we either buy a new tire or he couldn't help us. We asked for our keys back but he handed us some papers with a new estimate to sign. Which we refused since they hadn't done anything to the car. He then refused to give us the keys back and attempted to block the exit with his body. He said you are not leaving this place until you sign these papers or I'll report the vehicle as stolen. We said to go ahead. He then proceeding to cursing ya out. Telling us to "get the fuck out of his place" These people wasted 40 minutes of our time to attempt to patch a tire to just tell us that we need to buy a new one. Then the guy basically tried to block my husband from exciting the office because he refused to sign a blank paper. Then he refused to return our car keys saying he was going to report it stolen. To which I said to go ahead since he was being so disrespectful. Then the guy proceeding to cursing my husband and I telling us to "get the fuck out of my property!" We kept asking if that's the kind of service that wheel works provides. But he just kept cursing and attempting to approach my husband in a threatening manner. Helping customers should be number one priority if you claim to be the "manager (13yrs)" on any business of course. Now can somebody explain this to the service manager ("Ignacio") at Wheel Works in Vallejo. Let me tell you, been going to this business for the last 7 years for service, tires, etc, for all my vehicle (3) unfortunately this stores I guess has a reputation to rotate service advisors and managers frequently, don't know why but they do. They had good managers that are people persons and for some odd reasons they don't last long. Now don't get me wrong, in business you can be good with people and make no sales, etc.. I got it, they have to go, but then you get the a$$ holes type of self claim managers, that are self centered, egotistical, doesn't car for the customer or the store only him self, the one that won't care what you say because you are here listening to him talk, the one that will tell you is "his way or the highway", that my friend is what I encounter with Vallejo Wheel Wooks, and the so claimed manager "Ignacio". The individual (Ignacio), lack of ethnic value and professionalism, I did not trust him to work on my vehicle and cancelled everything, he was rude, arrogant, bad customer service, this individual should take some kind of training on Customer Service before he can work in Management. As a retired military this are the type of individuals I would like to sacrifice on a battle field. No respect for others, or at least a bit of courtesy, this guy is bad business and I won't take my vehicles, or recommend anybody to this Wheel Work if his still working there. This is the only place you're ever gonna need to go for all your mechanical needs. They're polite, kind and tentative to their costumers as well. I didn't get talked down to about my situation and I felt like I was given a fair price for what was done. Everything Pepboys does, Wheelworks does better and with a better attitude. Have been coming to this location off and on for the better part of 10 years. Not the fanciest of shops or nicest of waiting areas, but for basic work such as brakes, oil changes, etc., I have had good success. Prices (make sure you check for coupons on their site) are good. Also, make sure you make an appointment on-line for weekend visits. I had a screw in my new tire and they told me it was a2 hour wait...that's fine...I informed the young lady I would be back in ten minutes because I needed to secure a ride. My side of the story: I had an audible leak in my driver-side front tire, so I quickly needed to get to a nearby tire spot, or else get towed. Looked up a tire place on yelp because it was Sunday and nothing was open except WW (yay!). So I drove in, spoke with the assistant manager. He said the wait would be a couple of hours. The waiting room was full. I asked if he would at least check out the tire so I know if he can patch it or replace it today (in case he didn't have the tires in stock, etc). He came outside, looked at the car, said he couldn't patch it (fine) but he couldn't replace just one tire, either (Wha..what!?). I had nothing but friendly, timely and professional service here. After both of our cars getting flat tires (on the same side!) within a few days my sweetie and I came here to repair both of our tires. Unfortunately , the damage was enough that we had to replace our tires instead of repair. However, even with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching we each got our tires replaced quickly both with an appointment and without, last minute, the day before Thanksgiving. There was no pressure or up selling and our tires were replaced with ones comparable to the existing tires at a fair price. I got a flat tire while leaving the 24 Hour Fitness down the street from here. The guys at Wheel Works were very friendly, helpful, and quick. They checked my tire pressure right away when I told them about the "flat" light coming on my panel in order to confirm if the tire was actually flat. After it was confirmed that it was flat, they immediately took my car in (despite there being some cars waiting, since they said my car would be a quick fix). Within an hour, my car was fixed and ready to go. I drive a 2012 MINI and apparently, they're not familiar with the controls of these models, so they actually went out of their way to learn how to reset the "flat" light on the panel. I think $31 to fix a flat was a little bit on the pricey side, but I got really great service there. Definitely worth it! I highly recommend this Wheel Works! read more

Okay, there's a couple positives to start with, and a content warning. Jay was great, give that guy a raise. He's cordial, he gets along with everyone, he's patient in a frantic situation, awesome guy. That's it. Otherwise, fuck this place to hell. I made an appointment, I sat waiting for my car to be seen for two hours after the scheduled appointment, whatever, these things happen. That in and of itself loses some points, mainly because I took off time from work to get a tire fixed. It took about 10 minutes to get fixed once they got to it, but then they let it sit there after for another 40 minutes, again, whatever, these things happen. As a side note, I didn't have to pay for the patch because I bought my tires from them, so nice job wheel works, good on ya as a corporation. Nice practice. Anyway, three hours after I get there, I'm still there, yay. I see my car being driven out so I go out to talk to the mechanic who took care of my car, to thank him and check to see if I needed to do anything else (I had already signed about three papers for the free work I was getting done). Then, out of nowhere, this rat fuck that looks like Patton Oswald's bloated corpse just floated out of a sewer comes out and starts yelling at me. Keep in mind from his perspective all I had done was walk out of a building, hell, from my perspective all I had done was walk out of building, from a third party objective perspective, all I had done was, walk out of a building. Anyway, Rata-fucking-toulie starts screaming at me that I need to cash out. Okay, seeing the dead, sunken eyes in his ghoulish face I said, look, it's 0 dollars. He was getting frantic now, and screamed at his co-worker "DON'T GIVE HIM THE FUCKING KEYS!" I tell him to calm down, which is not something that the customer should have to say to employees. Anyway, at this point I've been yelled at and accused of attempted theft. This walking crime against nature decides that he needs to repeat himself, he tells me again that I need to cash out. Tired after 3 hours of waiting, I say to him "yeahyeahyeah," which, yes, isn't the most respectful response, but it took restraint to be that nice. To this, the man to ugly and crude to make a shrek comparison decided to hit me with the "What the fuck did you just say?" At this point I was already going inside to get cashed out. I can't believe that I had to wait for 2hrs to get an oil change and tire rotation. I booked an appointment for 8:30am and 2 hrs later my car is still not done. I asked if something was wrong with it. All I was told was NOPE! No one even bother updating me why it's taking so long. I am the only one at the reception area. There wasn't a lot of cars (2cars including mine) that they are working so I wasn't sure what the hold up was. I'm very disappointed. Like what other said on their reviews, my time has been wasted. Used these guys back in March to get some new tires on my Chevy Blazer (which you should never ever ever buy...we inherited it.) They did a good job. Just had a very traumatic event where our ball joint snapped while driving on the 80 (a Blazer problem...not faulty tire installation), and we had the damned thing towed to Wheel Works. They calmed us down, talked us through the problems, and took over from there. It looked like it would cost thousands of dollars to fix. They kept the car for almost a week, calling us once or twice a day with updates. It ended up costing under $500, which we considered a deal. The customer service they exhibited in this case was tremendous, professional, and much appreciated. The guy I talked to was also helpful, explaining about specials they had currently, & discounts on their website. Showed up early today for my appointment. After what felt like 10 min for them to do all the paperwork, finally ready for the oil change, and it's 9 am (my exact appointment time). I confirmed how long it would take, and was told an HOUR. My family could've DIED thanks to wheel works. A week before going to wheel works my Uncles car wouldn't start up because of a dead battery. We had it jumped, we idled the car to recharge it and all that. When we drove it again a week later we had a problem with the gas pedal not responding. Again, while driving in the residential area of Vallejo, the gas pedal did nothing. It was a scary experience because if that had happened on a freeway it would lead to a very dangerous situation. When we had it jumped the car couldn't stay on after a few minutes of idling so we had it towed to wheel works. We explained the problem to them and the next day their recommendation was to charge the battery EVERY 2 DAYS FOR 40 MINUTES. Okay so I guess we have the time to spare to do that right? I didn't accept their answer because it was absurd. I have a 2004 Honda that has a 5 year old battery that sits on the front of my house for weeks and it never needs to be idled. So why does a newer car need to do this? I asked them to do a diagnostic which they did. The only positive thing about this whole review is that they didn't charge for the diagnostic after they didn't find any issue with it. They didn't recommend this but we bought a new battery since it was old anyway hoping that we wont run into this issue again. Thinking we were in the clear, we drove the car to San Francisco and back. That's about 1 hour with the car running going towards SF from Vallejo. When driving home, our car ran into the SAME EXACT PROBLEM with the gas pedal not responding. Only this happened on the freeway near El Cerrito. Thankfully we were in traffic and near an exit so we used whatever momentum we had left and found a safe place to park. We called a tow, had it towed to the dealership where we bought the car(conveniently) and after a day of diagnosis they determined it was the alternator. So tell me wheel-works. Why is it that you completely failed to diagnose the problem in my car? Why is it that you cleared my car to be driven on the road and risked injury or death with your misdiagnosis? Why is it that you do the bare minimum when checking for issues and that I had to suggest the diagnosis myself? You had all the information required to perform a diagnosis of our car yet you FAILED to find out that it was an alternator issue. It's no wonder wheel works all over the bay area has a 3 star average rating. I assumed you could've fixed this issue like any other mechanic but honestly you deserve a lot less than 1 star for your horrible service that put my family in danger. Please don't bother responding to this. There's absolutely nothing you could do to redeem yourselves from this horrible misdiagnosis of my car. If anyone has any serious work to get done please check yelp and find a more reputable mechanic. My biggest mistake was choosing this poor excuse for an auto shop. read more

If this was my only interaction with Wheel Works I would never go back again. I will definitely never go back to this location. Today's visit was strike 3. They do not listen to their customers, they just say yes without knowing what they are saying yes to. First time my boyfriend brought his car here they forget to do the brake inspection. Second time I had called a week ahead of time to make an appointment, pre-order my tires and schedule oil change and alignment. When we got there they didn't have the tires and forget to do the alignment. Did I mention that both visits took twice as long as promised. Today was strike 3. I had a flat, called ahead because I have the warranty for the tire. He looked up everything in the system and told me everything was fine, come in. So I drive, 20 miles on the freeway with a donut tire to find out, not only do I not have the warranty but they do not have even 1 tire in the size for my all wheel drive SUV! I could have gone to a tire store in the city I was in instead of making the dangerous trek to their location. My review is based on the past 6 oil changes and several visits. I always felt a little discriminated at this shop but I dropped my vehicles for service here as it was closer to my home. Earlier I had cheaper vehicles so I thought may be they just ignore me because of that and cause delays or deprioritize my work. I stopped going to wheel works vallejo for an year. I recently bought a new car so I thought of trying them again for an oil change and I was told I'll get my car back in an hour. I went back after 2.5 hours and my car was still parked at the same spot with no service done. They did not care to help out in the situation but just handed my keys back to me without even removing all the junk ( plastic seat cover, steering cover and dirty paper) that they left in the car. To my surprise, all the cars that came in after me were ready to go- fully serviced. So it's not the cheap vehicle I guess as I have a very good car. On mar 28 2021 I had front bearings greased and breaks put in by Matt, in Vallejo Wheel Works. A week later I was at another mechanic place for another job and he found my right front wheel very loose. So an alignment couldnt be done. This would have caused front axel, bearings and race damage $700 and an accident. I had to go back for them to redo it. An important part as this. 3, years ago another shop left both front wheel bearings too loose that had to be redone. 2 weeks later my truck pulls hard to the left when I hit the breaks. read more

Had an alignment done here not even 5000 miles ago, at that time my Michelin tires only had 10k miles on them and looked practically new, mind you my tire size is 295/35R21 so these are 21" wheels on my Cayenne with 1 tire costing close to $550. Fast forward to today, brought the car back in for alignment after 5k miles, was told by a tech they will not perform an alignment since my rear tires are worn to cords on the inner edges!! Asked the tech how can this possibly happen in just over 5k miles!? He just shrug his shoulders and said "I don' know, let me see if I have new tires for your car". Conclusion, Wheel Works did not align my car properly the first time as a result my tires are ruined, I will be out over 1k because of this incompetence! Not happy! read more

WHEEL WORKS Saved my day! ON A SUNDAY Needed 2 tires,called around to find out most tire locations are closed . Wheel works was open and also the best deals. I came in and dealt with Gary who even gave me a better deal than he had originally quoted me . I ended up purchasing all 4 tires mounted and balanced. With at least 15 other people in the waiting room and outside, along with the phone ringing every few minutes , Gary remained professional and with his technicians working in the shop doing brakes, oil changes along with tire repairs and other tire set replacements, Anthony C. (the technician working on my car) still got my vehicle done in a reasonable amount of time. If I need tire repairs or replacement in the future, I'm sure I will be giving Wheel Works a call .. read more

Took my car in for the safety inspection and ended up having a motor mount replaced. when I got my vehicle back the car was pulling very hard to the left so I called and they said to bring it back the following day. The following day before i had taken the car back I noticed that my entire car had been gone through. My phone stand was stolen, radio was messed with, windshield wiper came off while driving. I then called and manager Ryan proceeded to argue with me and said nobody stole anything because he had his "master technician" do the work.. like it makes a difference. I was told that there are no working cameras in their establishment and that everything must have happened somewhere else after I had left and they will give my information to "higher ups" to contact me regarding the issue, which still 2 weeks later has not happened. Filed a complaint with the corporate office and still, nothing ! no calls or follow up at all. * Took it to another mechanic and tire shop and was told that my entire wheel was cracked and 2 of the wheels where also separating, ready to pop especially at highway speeds. Came in for oil change my lifetime tire rotation balance and alignment At 1st when I got there I shoulda ran but I gave it a chance. About an hour after my car was pulled in an hour and half after I got there the guy at the desk comes over to tell me my Coolant Reservoir was completely empty and I had major leaks (which I thought was wierd because I check my car on a regular and just because I'm a women i know about cars bt I'm to lazy to do it myself). So I knew it was something small if anything so I said write it down and I'll take a look. He sat there for a min and then walked away. 2 1/2 hours later my car was done and ready to pay I asked do u guys top off coolant "no we dont top off that stuff" ok I have some in my car in case of anything I'll do it myself. Slime ball: you're alignment is off too - both your front tires are worn on the inside Me: i'll just replace the tire with the nail and have my bf bring it in another time to look at the other stuff (of course i didn't say pumpkin hehe) Sleeeeeeeezy salesman: do you want to replace both tires today and just have him pay you back. Me: no way (yes i said no way) quick fix and a $100 later, i informed my bf of everything: - said he just had the alignment done a few weeks ago and all was good. - yes, one tire is bald, but the tire with the nail is almost new. - other shops will remove the nail without replacing the tire and if you buy a tire ... they throw in the alignment for free, which wheel works wouldn't. I was fuming. i was taken advantage of. i did not have to buy a new tire to fix it. Lesson learned. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS. read more
