By weekend day, wheelhouse has a fantastic brunch with lots of bottomless options (about $20- covers mimosas, bloodys, and what they call espresso martinis- more like spiked ice coffee). I was a bit underwhelmed. Starting with the cons, the restaurant was extremely loud so it was difficult for my party to hear each other talk. There was a DJ playing and that's cool but you really had to yell If you wanted to have a conversation. The food was super basic and super expensive. Normally I try to order something that is more complicated than what I normally make at home, but I couldn't find anything like that on the menu. I ordered avocado toast which ended up being very small pieces of toast topped with avocado, a hard boiled egg and everything bagel seasoning (not homemade, just the stuff you can get at the grocery store). I was still pretty hungry after my meal but I wasn't about to buy any more food because I just spent $15 on it. Pros were that the service was good and the drinks were good. Where do I begin at this location was absolutely phenomenal. We had a stupendous bartender I felt sorry for continually asking him questions but he kept telling me no need to apologize and he was happy to help. Seriously every little thing I asked him for he was more than happy to get it and got it within a minute for me. I never had to ask for refills he was on top of it 110%. I love how all the staff members went out for Halloween and all dressed up. Not only that the location was also decorated everywhere from the patio, to the windows, to the entryways. Looking for dinner & drinks before the Blues game tonight, we ended up here during happy hour at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. There was no wait, but the place was busy. I ordered Stella Cider and instead of telling me no, they switched a keg just for me. It ended up being beer and I drank some other pear cider, but their story sounded good. Hah. The food was waaaay better than I expected. We ordered the french fries, chicken wraps (which I was concerned about because they contained peppers. I can not tolerate spicy food. Zero spiciness and my favorite of the entire order), Brussels sprouts, a wedge salad, and the brownie sundae. I've been here in the past and their food has never disappointed! For drinks, the bottomless mimosas are fairly watered, as are several of their specialty cocktails. I would steer clear of the watermelon mojito; even for a mojito it was much too tepid. I have heard good things about the spicy margarita, though. I've been here a few times before - a few years back for events - and this week I came back for a work happy hour. For our happy hour, we had the upstairs reserved and I think it's more inviting than the main floor. We had a group of about 20 and there were maybe 10 people (not in our group) that were downstairs. We had one waitress and there were staff downstairs not doing anything. I give it to our waitress for what she did, but she should have had help. The food and drinks were covered by the company, so I won't discuss value as I honestly don't know how much the happy hour specials were or how 'special' they were. What I can say is the food and drinks were pretty good. The fried mac'n'cheese balls were mostly batter and over done, but the aioli served alongside was great. The wings' sauce was good flavor and the wings were cooked well. We also had nachos and I have to tell ya, they come out looking like Mount Everest!!! Now those are a great group app and they were yummy! Will I return? Maybe. I would like to give this place an honest shot outside of attending events here. Came to celebrate my grandmothers birthday! Call and made reservations only be told upon arrival that they only have high top tables to seat a party of 8. Surely someone could have informed me of this! I called and made official reservation. When asked if we were celebrating anything I stated again a birthday for my grandmother. Since we made reservations for 11:45 am we were not informed of the 12pm( need to card guests) and no children would be allowed due to DJ and alcohol being served. Last time I check it is a bar/grill so of course alcohol will be served. After asking for the check so we can leave a celebrate elsewhere, the order that we told was ready was missing items. Spoke with mgr, he supposedly reached out to restaurant nearby that they are affiliated with and of course they couldn't accommodate us. The service was horrible, we had a party of of what should have been 20 people but only end up being 16 people. I think I may have seen a notification of that for a group of six or more, but, like I said, I was dining alone. I wonder how many people just add a tip anyway onto the bill without really thinking about it, and then they end up double-tipping without knowing it.
