WOW!! We are new to Wichita and asked around for the best BBQ. We were told to check out When Pigs Fly. FABULOUS!! I can see why they are so popular. First of all their customer service is top notch. Next their prices are very reasonable. There is lots of dining area to practice social distancing. Now for the most important stuff...the BBQ is SOOOOO delicious (even without the marvelous sauce). We ordered ribs for lunch and then ordered the brisket (my personal favorite now) for dinner. We will certainly be coming back often. Try them out...you won't be disappointed!! read more

Great environment. My tastebuds did backflips when the spicy BBQ sauce slapped my tongue. When you walk in, you are greeted by a creative pink metal pig. For me this set the stage for authenticity. The reviews were accurate as when I told them this was my first time, they prepared a sampler plate so I could try all the meats. I'm glad I did this as I found out the brisket was some of the best that I've ever had and I eat BBQ frequently. I decided on the two meat plate with brisket and ribs and both were delicious. When Pigs Fly is the next time I will come here. The brisket on my sandwich was acceptable but nothing to right home about. Maybe thats the problem,my home is Texas and my Bar B Que standards are high. At least they could toast the bun, My bun was litterally cold to the touch and mouth, wich made for an interesting first bite. When Pigs Fly just might be the best BBQ in Kansas. Yes, it is that good! I used to eat it a lot when I lived on the west side, and I was worried that the few years since being there might have changed the product. I was not disappointed! My family had a decent assortment of their food that I'll break down. Kids mac n cheese that was filled with well cooked noodles and delicious creamy cheese! Incredibly juicy turkey and melt in your mouth pulled pork. Coleslaw was a wonderful blend of crunch and bite with just enough sweetness to keep you wanting more. The baked beans and the macaroni salad were delicious as well. I had the brisket and it was absolutely incredible! It was perfectly cooked with a great smoke ring and flavor. The crust on it was a kiss of sweetness. Another star of the show was the garlic green beans! They tested like each bean was cooked rolled in bacon! It was some of the most enjoyable food I've eaten! None of the meat NEEDS sauce, but you can choose from a regular or a spicy sauce that compliments it perfectly! To top it all off, there's currently a delicious pumpkin cream pie that is like pudding housed in a delicious graham cracker crust! The location is very clean and the sweet tea is delicious. We tried this place based on the reviews & was sure glad we did. The brisket was the best I'd ever had! The sides we had were all good - even the rye bread was great. We had so much food, I had to take some to go. The place was spotless & the staff was cleaning & refilling everything all the time we were there. We ate at a slow time of day. In from out of town and visited this place tonight with two colleagues. From the moment we walked in we felt like friends of the staff. I asked what we should get because we had never been there before - and a guy who I later find out to be the owner Bryan - said "hold on let me hook you up." I figured he just had to empty his arms of the boxes he was carrying but no, when he returned he had three bite size portions of EVERY meat they sold! It was a mini tasting platter to let us decide what we wanted to order. Incredible! I went with the ribs and brisket two meat platter. My colleagues got a selection of other stuff. All was fantastic although my highlight was the insanely tasty ribs. Deliciously smoked and amazingly seasoned. No need for bbq sauce but still used it on half of them because the sauce itself was so good too! I can't emphasize enough how amazing the service was. Even without the sampler hook up in the beginning, these guys were all on point. I could not have asked for better service in absolutely any way. The food was flawless, and so was the staff. I am a weekly patron at this restaurant. I dont know of a better place to get BBQ. Their ribs are probably the popular choice here. It is also one of my favorites. I like their brisket because it is very lean with almost no fat on it. This causes it to be a bit dry on a rare occasion, but having it lean is the way I like it! And it is always tender. They also have weekly specials that are not on the main menu. Every week, they offer someting different. Some of my favorite weekly specials include the Brunswick stew, chicken bombs, and smoked meatballs. read more

The 1/2 Chicken Dinner I got was delicious! and most outstanding of all was the demeanor, attitude, disposition, and character of the young man at the counter with glasses! He is truly a people person who makes you feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued! He speaks with a smile that you can see in his face, hear in his voice, and sense in how he carries himself. Really nice Hot version of Q sauce. Decent beans... mixed beans with good flavor. Slaw had a touch of garlic. I like that. And the meat??? Beef was sliced thick. Medium smoke. Tender. But a little dry. Very good Pork was pulled. Medium smoke. A little under spiced for me. Tender. Very good. Hot links had a tough skin, and course texture... exactly what I like. Very good. Ribs were a little more smoky, seasoned, and cooked just right. They were almost 4.5 stars. If Pig In Pig Out were not in town this place would get 5 stars. At this particular time, ( the virus closing all in-house eating), they have made a special drive-through pick-up lane right in front of their store, and if you call in your order, they watch for your car and bring your order quickly to your car with minimal waiting time!! They greet the customers and do everything they can to give a positive and organized experience when getting the take-out orders!! The meals are delivered hot, with all necessary utensils and a nice supply of napkins! Their barbecue sauce is excellent and they put plenty with every order! First trip to Wichita and thought we would try to find some decent local BBQ. WPF had 4.5 stars and was close to the airport so we made our way over there. It's located in an average looking shopping center with plenty of parking. Not very crowded when we arrived at around 11:45. I got the two meat plate with two sides and my wife got the one meat plate with two sides. I got the brisket and ribs with macaroni salad and potato salad. The brisket had good flavor but was a little dry. The ribs were good and had a nice gentle pull to get them off the bone. Very meaty and not very fatty at all. No sauce was needed for the ribs but I did have to put some sauce on the brisket because it was so dry. The potato salad was a mustard base and was decent. The macaroni salad was bland. My wife also got the brisket and thought hers was dry as well. She tried the potato salad and the baked beans. The beans had two different types of beans, your typical baked beans and then some kidney beans. They had a great flavor. Meal is served with 2 pieces of white bread. Drinks are separate from the meal. For two of us the bill ran us about $29.00 The customer service was very good and the restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating with both free standing tables and booths. read more

I reside in Northeastern Wichita. It's a distance to get here but absolutely worth it. Their weekly special changes constantly but is consistently a home run. I've sampled all of their usual menu and love everything I've had. My husband isn't much of a BBQ fan but loves this place. As a bonus, my hair stylist is on this side of town.
