I'm not really sure why, but my luck with this company is terrible. I had requested a quote from this company because of the raving great reviews. The quote for the project sounded fine and I worked to schedule a time. I confirmed over email. Day of appointment, I got a no show. I worked with Vanessa to reschedule. On the date of the rescheduled appointment, Tim called and said he couldn't come out because of a missing part and rescheduled for the following week. I sent an email the day before the again rescheduled to confirm and got a confirmation. Again, day of appointment 40 minutes passed the agreed time, still no show. I called Tim and he said he didn't have my number to call me, but he was on a project that ran over from the day before. Ummm? I can't figure out why I keep getting no shows and others are praising great reviews. My project is similar to other reviews - installing an outlet to charge my EV. read more

Made an appointment on Tuesday for Friday (Feb 1), and at no time was I contacted that they would not be able to honor their appointment. Required service to identify potential upgrade of outlet prior to a treadmill being delivered to house on Saturday (Feb 2). I followed up to ensure they were coming out late Friday morning and it was then, that they said they could not honor the appointment. If you call this 5-star​ service, then I give 1 star for communication and making appointments that they cannot adhere too. I even identified I was active duty military and that I solely relied on them to get an estimate with no remorse or response from them. Looks like they are happy with their current customer base and are complacent with others. Ensure you have multiple estimates and appointments with other electricians if you are trying to meet a specified deadline. read more

in the interests of full disclosure, TIM WHEYLAND is my friend. the irony of that is that knowing TIM makes a good review from me more reliable not less. i'm a serious butt head and would not write something praising his company if i didn't know every word was true. if i was disappointed in his work, i would probably not write a review at all but would certainly give him grief until forever -- maybe longer. my dad used to say that you can tell who your friends are 'cause they're the ones that stab you in the front. in my case (since i seriously took my father's words to heart) that usually means stabbing repeatedly. fortunately, TIM did a bang up job and so neither of us had to go thru that. the wife and i (okay, mostly the wife) contacted WHEYLAND ELECTRIC to take out a hideous dining room chandelier we inherited when we bought the place. the plan was to replace that with can lighting and a dimmer switch. Tim rocks! We recently purchased a home in Carlsbad that needed some serious electrical work. Tim had to reroute several light switches to allow for the operation of ceiling fans that he installed in our bedrooms and the family room.
