Love the diversity of their menu. My favorite recently is the BLT. There is something for everyone and the service is always awesome.

The Texas barbecue hunt will take you anywhere. A food truck park in Fate, Texas was my next stop…read moreto try Smoak Town. I had a chance last October while I was in Rockwall for a wedding to try it, but because the wedding was a top priority (whatever!!!), it didn't happen. Yesterday was my chance. Inside this food park was a vast sea of options, but my eyes were set on the back left where Smoak Town laid. They have a huge tent with plenty of tables to sit at under the shade and the space is wrapped in their wood, giving the joint an oak log fence around the food truck. By the time I got there a little past 1:30, they were out of sausage and mac and cheese. Sad! Other than that, my order was simple: brisket, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, and a side of their brew brisket beans. The brisket was a thick slice that was moist and flavorful. I love those chunky slabs of brisket. There is just something about a thicker cut that knocks skinnier cuts out of the park. The pork ribs were juicy and tender. I rarely get pork belly burnt ends over a sausage, but they are always a treat like they were here. Just a little taste of heaven. The beans were savory, hearty, and well seasoned. I was pretty impressed by them as well. The team working was super conversational and friendly. The guy in front of me was having his first taste of Texas barbecue, and they were being super helpful making sure he got a true, flavorful experience. This spot feels hidden but is worth the trip. There were quite a few people hanging around enjoying the excellent barbecue. Worth the pit stop and worth the drive if you live anywhere in the DFW metro. It was simply fate (GET IT???) to try Smoak Town. RIYL: The quieter barbecue spots that pack the same punch

I had sent a DM to the pit master about our visit and placing an order to pick up. Unfortunately they didn't have brisket at the time of our visit but everything else we got was wonderfully delicious. We picked up the Texas Trinity w/Ribs, sausage & pork belly burnt ends with 2 sides. Every thing was delicious but the ribs were the star of the plate. Thank you Smoak Town BBQ for cooking delicious food. They are currently located at a food park but will be moving into a brick and mortar.

I have not been in Fate for years, and what a pleasure it was when I drove ther yesterday to meet a…read morefriend. We sat down at our table at Red Dirt Social to visit for 10 minutes - and the manager (or owner maybe?) commented how his space was built just for this reason - to relax and enjoy time. We never felt rushed, or felt like they wanted our table. That was refreshing! The space is lovely - truly! It was bright, open, minimal decor and it all worked beautifully together. Someone out real thought into decorating this space for people to gather and relax, and it showed. I ordered the pats (oatmeal) with fresh fruit and it was perfect! All the fruit blended well together for my oatmeal. I enjoyed every bite. I cannot wait to bring my husband back to see how much Fate has grown and to eat here once more. It's worth it!

Its an order at counter places, which isn't always my favorite. You lose some personal connection but we were greeted when we got here, when we ordered it felt so friendly... they honesty made up for it. We ordered a bucket (cupcake brand) of mimosas. Chicken and waffles sliders. Breakfast panini and i wanted something sweet and we ordered the donut hole casserole. Honestly I cant find the words right now... but absolutely delish!! Only thing we would not order the donut casserole not because its not fantastic it is. But the waffle fries had some kind of sweetness in the batter so it satisfied my sweet tooth. The chicken was so well cooked! We ultimately turned it into knife and fork because it fell apart but who cares. The panini ... eggs so soft and moist. The sausage is links which normally I dont prefer vs a patty but so juicy. Honestly the combo of them was perfect. We were both so happy. Please go. Go now.

And that critique is aimed more at the flavors, the cook on all of our pizzas was perfect, the flavors just left a bit to be desired (especially the Margherita pizza.) One star off for this. The hostess was extremely nice, but our server was pretty timid and quiet so he was very hard to understand. He also seemed to be very forgetful, we asked him a couple questions about the menu that he didn't have answers for, refills were scarce, and he forgot to bring us plates. I do think he was new, so no stars off for this, just some notes to improve on! Finally the ambiance of this place was okay, but it was SO loud that we could hardly hear each other speak. I'm not sure if the building needs some acoustic treatment or if the seating is just crammed in too closely. Add this to fact that the manager did not want to open the top floor and would rather have people waiting (why not utilize all the space you have?) My only guess is that they didn't want to have more to clean up at the end of the day but it just seems... lazy. One star off for these two things together. It's fine, it's just not great, especially at the price.
