We came here on a whim. We were in the area for groceries and take out, but we were thirsty for something refreshing. We saw this place on Yelp and decided to check it out. We ordered a couple of creme brulee coffees, a sugarcane kumquat foam, and sugarcane coconut water. I didn't try the coffees, but my dad and husband both enjoyed their coffees. My dad used to own a coffee shop and is particular about his coffees, but he liked this coffee. He said the flavor was good and it was strong coffee. I tried both of the sugarcane drinks and really liked them. They were refreshing. I liked the sugarcane kumquat foam because it added a subtle kumquat flavor that did not overpower the sugarcane juice. It reminded me of freshly made sugarcane juices in the streets of Hong Kong. I would come back if I wanted a nice refreshing drink.

I revisited this cozy spot during Father's Day weekend, arriving 15 minutes before closing on a Tuesday. The staff was patient and accommodating, making all 4 drinks & a customized bánh mì in less than 10 minutes. Drinks range from $6-$6.79, and all 10 bánh mì options are just $9.99, making this one of the better values around. My favorites were the Coffee with Ube Foam $6 and the Pandan Coconut Water $6.50, both refreshing during the 100+ degree weather. I'm usually not a sweet foam coffee person, but their bold Vietnamese Robusta paired perfectly with the ube foam. According to their business profile, their coffee, sugarcane, and premium coconut water are imported directly from Vietnam. Vietnamese Robusta is known for higher caffeine, bold flavor, and lower acidity so keep this in mind if you're new to Vietnamese coffee and or general like your iced coffee on a sweeter side. The Banana Matcha Latte $6.79 was a fun surprise with torched banana pieces on top, reminiscent of the caramelized top of a crème brûlée or flan. If you're a matcha fan, give it a try. Sugarcane juice is my childhood favorite so I ordered the OG Sugarcane with Kumquat $6.50 and asked for extra kumquats. I devoured it before leaving the parking lot because it was so refreshing and thanked to the scorching heat. I got the Classic Bánh Mì and asked for pâté only. It was huge! Their house-baked bread had a crispy crust with a soft and fluffy inside, and I appreciated the generous amount of pickled carrot & daikon, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeños. The house-made pâté has a pleasantly coarse texture that pairs well with their house sauce. Clean restroom with toilet seat covers, free shared parking with the plaza, mostly round tables seating for 2, a few with benches & chairs combined for 4. Whip X continues to be my favorite spot for authentic Vietnamese drinks, generous size yummy bánh mì with plenty of veggies filling.

Our kids say 5/5 so yes it was that good!!! It's a small little shop with couple tables that can sit groups of 4. Staff was friendly, love that we get greeted right when we come in. We ordered bbq pork, crispy pork belly and beef stew. The rolls were pretty tasty, their beef stew was okay. Their coffee is strong exactly how I like it. Would love to try their matcha next time we come!

Omg, delicious! I stopped here randomly after a sound bath class. Such friendly service. Small cafe vibe. What I Ordered: Lemongrass beef banh mi - fresh ingredients, quite flavorful, kick of spice Banana matcha latte - not too sweet, actual banana included (not just the flavor). Make sure to stir it first and sip from the top. I would absolutely come back! :-)

I was on the hunt for a banana matcha (which they have here) but decided to get the banana latte....OMG it was so frkn good!! The banana flavor isn't artificial, it's real banana cream and it's perfect! The coffee is to die for too. We also got the Ube Matcha, which was just as good! The service is quick. The atmosphere is cute with plenty of seating. Will definitely make the drive to come back :)

Did a short visit to Whip x Banh Mi, since it was in the same plaza as Sweet Mong. I was looking for an after meal coffee and came in the store around noon. It was a small store and very busy at the time. There was a brief wait before I could place an order. Took a few minutes for my order to be ready. Seemed to have a lot more of the staff focused on banh mi than drinks at the time. As for the order, I decide to get their egg coffee. I was looking forward to it since it was under the specialty menu. While it was strong coffee, it didn't meet my expectation. I could only taste the bitterness. It seemed like there was no condensed milk since it was not sweet at all. At least it was a strong coffee. American Express is accepted here.

This was my first visit! Inside of the store was not that big. but I liked the atmosphere! and menu was straight forward. we needed to order through Screen. It was easy and simple. I ordered Grilled Chicken BANH MI and OG Sugarcane Drink. Both are Delicious!!! as it's Large Size Only, and there's no Utensils to cut, I asked and the staff nicely cut in half. I wish there's options already to do that there for dine in customer like me...

Sugar cane, Vietnamese coffee, creme brulee
    Karen K.

We got the creme brulee, Vietnamese coffee, and sugar cane. The Vietnamese coffee is strong, and not too sweet. The whipped creams on top balance the drink out with creaminess and a bit of sweetness. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the creme brulee actually tastes like creme brulee.

Had a great experience at Whip X Banh Mi. The coffee is strong (just how I like it), the service is consistently good, and the food definitely hits the spot. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and you really can't beat the value--solid portions for a decent price. If you're in the Spring Mountain area and craving a good bánh mì and Vietnamese coffee combo, this spot is worth checking out!

The lemongrass beef bánh mì was absolutely delicious! The beef was flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned with a fresh lemongrass taste. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the pickled vegetables added the perfect crunch and balance. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. I would definitely order it again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying sandwich.

    Summer rolls bbq pork.
    Kam K.

Just tried it for the first time. So bland and plain. The pickles had no crunch to it. The beef lemongrass is not even sliced beef it's a hamburger Pattie. Ordered the bbq pork again no flavor and mushy. This is not traditional Vietnamese bahn mi. Order the bbq pork summer rolls just loaded in shredded lettuce and no other veggies. Their coffee and drinks are good which they should've stuck to and not make the sandwich's. Please use real beef not hamburger patties.

    Sin City Banh Mi !!

Do they use real pandan in their drinks?

There is no concrete confirmation but they position these as flavored specialty drinks (similar to ube, lavender, etc.), which typically rely on pre-made flavoring bases or syrups in café settings.

We ordered the Lulu Sandos, which comes with three different sandwiches, and upgraded one to the shrimp sando--a decision we definitely didn't regret. All three were delicious. The bread was light with a slight crisp on the outside while still staying soft and fluffy. The wagyu sando was the standout for me. The beef was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. The shrimp sando reminded me of the shrimp patties you get with Vietnamese cơm tấm--crispy, savory, and super satisfying. The chicken katsu sando was a bit dry, but the sauce helped bring everything together. Service was quick, and overall, this is a great spot if you're craving Japanese-style sandos. I'd definitely come back for that shrimp sando again. 1/2

One of these places is Gyu+ (or on Yelp, Gyu Plus), which offers a variety of Japanese sandos which are a unique offering in the US --- and even on the Vegas food scene. I arrived 3-minutes prior to opening, and (I assume) the worker was so kind and let us in --- even though the floor was still drying from a good mop. He explained to us the most popular items --- what was the best cost-effective option, etc. A great guy, tbh. We decided to get the Lulu Sando Box ($46.99), which comes with a variety of their favorite sandos: the steak sando, the spicy chicken katsu sando, and the egg sando. Individually, the total would be close to $50, so your roughly saving a dollar and some change per sandwich. Also, I had to get their Potato Chips. WHY? Because it had togarashi. I love togarashi (a Japanese chili powder) and rosemary as a unique flavor combination. While we waited for our order, the owner showed us the backroom of the restaurant which was gorgeous. It was decorated with beautiful artwork and cherry blossoms on the ceiling. He told us that on some evenings, it is used as a speak-easy which makes total sense. ON TO THE FOOD! Egg Sando - I'm sorry --- nothing to write home about! It was beautiful, but lacked any depth or real flavor. Needed more salt and personally, a bit of hot sauce. It was all creamy, without any "egg"-depth. Steak Sando - This was delicious and perfection medium rare. It might freak out some people on appearance, but it was tender and served beautifully. 9.5/10 Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando - DING DING DING! Winner! This sandwich --- even after a 10 min. car ride was still crunchy and satisfying to eat. The slaw that accompanied it paired wonderfully with the spice of the sandwich. All-in-all, it all worked! lastly, the Togarashi Potato Chips - Again, I may be biased but these chips were a specialty and were amazing. Loved them, would have order 2x if given the chance. Warning: It is heavy on the rosemary-side. All in all, service was amazing, ambiance was beautiful, and food an overall A- from the variety chosen! Definitely not a place to eat at everyday, but if you're passing thru Vegas, it is a must-try!
