Grateful for that since I had just come from a meeting that ended late. I got a grilled pork banh mi which was great, the flavor of the pork, the other fillings, and the bread was all excellent. The other thing I got was a wrapped plate of sticky/mochi rice topped with different things. Honestly I'm not sure what it was called or what exactly the toppings were but my best guess is pork floss, sausage (lup Cheong), and something else which I'm not sure what it was but it tasted very good. The man who took my order was nice and I got my food quick. They take cash and card. They have lots of things in the case which all looked good, even though I'm not sure what they all are. Traditional authentic Vietnamese and banh mi shop in a casual setting. It's basically a Vietnamese deli, but they also have some noodle soups (but no pho). The older gentleman who helped us seemed like the owner, and was very kind and friendly. The banh mi are buy five get one free and they are solid. I tried three different sandwiches: the number one house special, the number seven grilled chicken, and the special pho one. All very excellent. The bread is crunchy and delicious. Sometimes the bread is too hard or just sometimes not good. It was not the case here. I also tried the noodle with ground pork and mushroom and fish sauce that was on the counter. Excellent option as well. And their pan dan sponge cake. Everything was really good. It's a no nonsense café with a few tables inside. The person who took our order was very nice. On the search for the best banh mi in Vegas, and this place does not disappoint. So far it's top of the list. Like it better than Co Anh and Dakao when it comes to balance in flavor/fillings. I've passed by this place numerous times and never stopped by. Curiosity won today so I went in l. Smaller spot but clean with sandwiches, soups, and other snacks ready to go. I went with the Banh Mi Ba Chi which is pork belly. Bread was crispy with the pork belly cooked well. The freshness and crunch of the cucumber and jalapeño really upped the Sandwich. The bread had a great crisp without being too crunchy! The veggie banh mi had bamboo shoots, which gave off a meaty texture. The grilled pork had a touch of what we think is pork fat spread providing a touch of richness. Each sandwich had just the right amount of filling too. Their service was great as well! After we ordered, the banh mi's came in less than 10 minutes. Dan Han is definitely now on my list of restaurants to re-visit! When I crave a banh mi sandwich, my go to was always Lee's. They've been synonymous with the Vietnamese sandwich since forever. In fact I like this one better. The bread was nice with crisp flakes and plenty of fluff. While waiting for the sandwiches to come out I noticed this place started getting packed. I usually order around three bags and have to wait around 20-30 minutes for them. I think you're able to pre-order them too by calling in(?) The guy at the front is kind and helpful.
