Lobster grilled cheese and crab bisque
    Katie N.

Came here for happy hour with coworkers and had a great time. They take reservations. The happy hour menu had a variety of seafood. We tried the coconut shrimp (which were large and tasty), $2 oysters, fish and chips, calamari, mussels. Drinks were $2 off during happy hour, and the cosmo was delicious. We also ordered the lobster roll and the lobster grilled cheese, which unfortunately were just eh. The crab bisque was creamy and filling. Shoutout to our waitress, Shelly who was amazing, super friendly, helpful with recommendations, and very attentive. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, modern, and well kept. Parking is limited because of the area, but I was able to find street parking and pay for two hours. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out for happy hour, especially for the oysters, drinks, and great service.

Now, I initially gave Whiskey & Oyster "4 Stars" but after dining there several times over the past 3 weeks... It's no question, "5 Stars" is well deserved on every level ! The service here is friendly, consistent and always there when you need them ( They work as a team from start to finish ! ) And the setting in the restaurant is always jubilant and filled with life !! Shoutout to the entire Whiskey & Oyster staff... You're The Best !!!!

My favorite restaurant in Alexandria for oysters! Been here so many times but finally getting around to writing the review! Everything about the restaurant from the location to the service from the staff to the quality of the oysters were exemplary. I haven't really tried any of the other choices on the menu as I was very happy with the selection of rotating oysters and the variety of cocktails. The very modern style of the restaurant definitely appeals to many in the area as it is a business oriented location across from the SHRM building.

Went here for $1 Oysters on the third Monday of the month. The deal is only valid if you purchase a drink, so I ended up getting a glass of wine. I think overall it's a good deal and the oysters taste pretty good. I particularly love to drench mine with sauce and horseradish and they included that as well. The service was great and we got to sit outside which was nice. I think i would go back and do this again!

I guess it says it all in the name...the oysters were the star of this meal. We came here as my man wanted rockerfeller oysters for his birthday. Every where else that recommended them weren't accepting reservations for the time we had wanted. The restaurant itself reminded me of saltline, but the food was not up to par. We spent A LOT of money for the food to be mediocre... I guess they work as a team and tip pull, however it was hard to get assistance for our group of 7... it was not busy so I don't it didn't make any sense. Rockerfeller oysters were 8/10...it was a good balance of bacon and cheese. Crispy duck rolls- 4/10 the inside was extremely soggy and I did not like that it was served with Thai chili...not a good mix of the flavors inside the rolls Coconut shrimp 2/10 it was so well done that the outer shell tasted burnt...again served with Thai chili. This made me question their menu at this point. Almost every dish was a Thai chili dish. Grilled oysters with bourbon sauce-5/10 it had a very weird bitter after taste Grilled oysters with thai chili! 10/10 amazing buttery taste with the Thai chili was amazing. It was so addictive we ordered 5 rounds of it. Scallops 7/10...was cooked very well, but it lacked so much flavor...sage was not present at all... but was the main name in the title. Rockfish 3/10 so so dry, for a plate over $30 bucks...it was terrible. It was so bitter. The sauce helped not one bit. The mac/cheese was so grainy...spinach was the only thing on the plate that had salt, but it was extremely cold. Maybe I'll come back just for oysters, but even the drinks were off and not good at all. My man always typically orders more than one old fashioned and he just couldn't.

My wife and I have came here multiple times. The chargrilled oysters and gumbo are always are good! Today we got 2 gumbos to go and this was the worst experience we've ever had. There was no flavor they gave us mushy rice and it's really upsetting. My wife also got the hush puppies and they weren't good either, very hard exterior. We ordered chicken and fries as well those were decent

This place is so fabulous. I am an oyster girly and I love anytime I can order oysters A la carte. The oysters sampler was amazing and so was the calamari. I also got the duck spring rolls and they were out of this world. Our server was amazing but I forgot her name.

Was looking for somewhere different. The perfect combo, whiskey and oysters. The ambience of this spot is chilled, lots of space with good music in the background. Our servers knew his stuff, provided good feedback on selection while making jokes at the same time. Let's talk food, everything was delicious. A few must haves. It's an oyster so of course the Oysters Rockefeller (you will order more) and the Grilled Oysters (my favorite chipotle bourbon). The Peel and eat shrimp outstanding. The Crispy Duck Spring Roll was good also if you're into duck. Main dish both on point, the Lobster Grilled Cheese (brings out the kid in any adult) and Connecticut lobster roll. This place is definitely one of my favorites and yes I will return.

Great spot for seafood! The seafood selection is so good and their oysters are so fresh. I loved the lobster rolls and the soup pairing. I also tried the whiskey they had and really liked it a lot. It was so easy to get a table even for a group of 12 people. Our server had great recommendations of foods and drinks to try. The atmosphere was so unique and felt very welcoming.

Came here with some friends for dinner on a Saturday! It wasn't too busy. The service staff were great. They have a wide variety of beer, wine, mixed drinks, and bourbon/whiskey. I tried out the 1/2 pound of peel and eat shrimp and the pear salad. Both were delicious. I got a side of remoulade for the shrimp which was fabulous. My friends shared two different kinds of oysters and said it was delicious. Will be back !

Just came back from DC for a military reunion and to celebrate the Blackhorse Regiments 125 year birthday. DC was cold like Germany was back in the day so I guess that was in a way fitting for the occasion. While there my friend and fell in love with this seafood restaurant in DC called Whiskey & Oysters man their food was on another level ! I've had a lot of seafood in my time but none as fresh as this! Highly recommend! I really wish there was a place like this in Dallas.

First time here for brunch it it did NOT disappoint!! We had our usual appetizers... oysters Rockefeller, Shecrab soup and Clam Chowder. We tried items from the brunch menu which were AWESOME!! The staff was friendly and it was fairly quiet since we arrived shortly after they opened. Street parking was a little limited since there was an art festival going on in the area but it wasn't too bad.

We were looking for a spot for seafood and found Whiskey & Oyster on Yelp and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Fish and Chips and my gf ordered the Shrimp Po Boy. We both enjoyed our dishes and the shrimp on the Po Boy were huge! The Fish and Chips was super tasty and I loved how crispy the fries were. There's outside seating and with the weather warming up, we just had to. Our server was nice but the service could've been a tad better. I had to flag him down a few times to refill our waters. Overall, a fan of this place in downtown Alexandria.

Excellent service. They had different raw oysters to choose from and depending on the location, then the salinity flavor was different.

At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.
