    Evening out enjoying oysters !!!

Now, I initially gave Whiskey & Oyster "4 Stars" but after dining there several times over the past 3 weeks... It's no question, "5 Stars" is well deserved on every level ! The service here is friendly, consistent and always there when you need them ( They work as a team from start to finish ! ) And the setting in the restaurant is always jubilant and filled with life !! Shoutout to the entire Whiskey & Oyster staff... You're The Best !!!!

i've walked by the place so many times and have always wondered about the food- came here for restaurant week (alexandria restaurant week) and omg for $45 dinner, it was so worth it just getting a dozen raw oysters alone- I was so happy. everything was really good came with a friend so we ordered everything from the menu so that we could share the scallop risotto was super buttery and tasty, the grilled oysters, fried oysters were really well done. please definitely give this place a try!

My favorite restaurant in Alexandria for oysters! Been here so many times but finally getting around to writing the review! Everything about the restaurant from the location to the service from the staff to the quality of the oysters were exemplary. I haven't really tried any of the other choices on the menu as I was very happy with the selection of rotating oysters and the variety of cocktails. The very modern style of the restaurant definitely appeals to many in the area as it is a business oriented location across from the SHRM building.

Went here for $1 Oysters on the third Monday of the month. The deal is only valid if you purchase a drink, so I ended up getting a glass of wine. I think overall it's a good deal and the oysters taste pretty good. I particularly love to drench mine with sauce and horseradish and they included that as well. The service was great and we got to sit outside which was nice. I think i would go back and do this again!

I guess it says it all in the name...the oysters were the star of this meal. We came here as my man wanted rockerfeller oysters for his birthday. Every where else that recommended them weren't accepting reservations for the time we had wanted. The restaurant itself reminded me of saltline, but the food was not up to par. We spent A LOT of money for the food to be mediocre... I guess they work as a team and tip pull, however it was hard to get assistance for our group of 7... it was not busy so I don't it didn't make any sense. Rockerfeller oysters were 8/10...it was a good balance of bacon and cheese. Crispy duck rolls- 4/10 the inside was extremely soggy and I did not like that it was served with Thai chili...not a good mix of the flavors inside the rolls Coconut shrimp 2/10 it was so well done that the outer shell tasted burnt...again served with Thai chili. This made me question their menu at this point. Almost every dish was a Thai chili dish. Grilled oysters with bourbon sauce-5/10 it had a very weird bitter after taste Grilled oysters with thai chili! 10/10 amazing buttery taste with the Thai chili was amazing. It was so addictive we ordered 5 rounds of it. Scallops 7/10...was cooked very well, but it lacked so much flavor...sage was not present at all... but was the main name in the title. Rockfish 3/10 so so dry, for a plate over $30 bucks...it was terrible. It was so bitter. The sauce helped not one bit. The mac/cheese was so grainy...spinach was the only thing on the plate that had salt, but it was extremely cold. Maybe I'll come back just for oysters, but even the drinks were off and not good at all. My man always typically orders more than one old fashioned and he just couldn't.

Was looking for somewhere different. The perfect combo, whiskey and oysters. The ambience of this spot is chilled, lots of space with good music in the background. Our servers knew his stuff, provided good feedback on selection while making jokes at the same time. Let's talk food, everything was delicious. A few must haves. It's an oyster so of course the Oysters Rockefeller (you will order more) and the Grilled Oysters (my favorite chipotle bourbon). The Peel and eat shrimp outstanding. The Crispy Duck Spring Roll was good also if you're into duck. Main dish both on point, the Lobster Grilled Cheese (brings out the kid in any adult) and Connecticut lobster roll. This place is definitely one of my favorites and yes I will return.

This place is so fabulous. I am an oyster girly and I love anytime I can order oysters A la carte. The oysters sampler was amazing and so was the calamari. I also got the duck spring rolls and they were out of this world. Our server was amazing but I forgot her name.

My wife and I have came here multiple times. The chargrilled oysters and gumbo are always are good! Today we got 2 gumbos to go and this was the worst experience we've ever had. There was no flavor they gave us mushy rice and it's really upsetting. My wife also got the hush puppies and they weren't good either, very hard exterior. We ordered chicken and fries as well those were decent

Great spot for seafood! The seafood selection is so good and their oysters are so fresh. I loved the lobster rolls and the soup pairing. I also tried the whiskey they had and really liked it a lot. It was so easy to get a table even for a group of 12 people. Our server had great recommendations of foods and drinks to try. The atmosphere was so unique and felt very welcoming.

Came here with some friends for dinner on a Saturday! It wasn't too busy. The service staff were great. They have a wide variety of beer, wine, mixed drinks, and bourbon/whiskey. I tried out the 1/2 pound of peel and eat shrimp and the pear salad. Both were delicious. I got a side of remoulade for the shrimp which was fabulous. My friends shared two different kinds of oysters and said it was delicious. Will be back !

First time here for brunch it it did NOT disappoint!! We had our usual appetizers... oysters Rockefeller, Shecrab soup and Clam Chowder. We tried items from the brunch menu which were AWESOME!! The staff was friendly and it was fairly quiet since we arrived shortly after they opened. Street parking was a little limited since there was an art festival going on in the area but it wasn't too bad.

Great location near the King Street metro with lots of outdoor seating. They have a fantastic happy hour (M-F 3-6pm ) bar menu filled with delicious options and enough for a meal for $10. Fish and chips, calamari, nachos. We ordered drinks and 2 dozen $1 oysters as well! $1 oysters are offered every 3rd Monday of the month. Our server Kevin was great!

A way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. I think that's how the saying goes. Whiskey & Oyster! Whoa! My significant other did it again! I over dressed so we tried to find dinner at MGM with no luck, three strikes and we were out, literally. Out of nowhere, my babe said I know where we are going, and off we went to Whiskey and Oyster. I'm sure glad we did! The pictures speak for themselves. Oysters Rockefeller were a hit! Really good! I ate mine and usually if I'm not a fan I'll eat one and be done. Not this time! My pasta dish was the best. I typically do not finish my meals but my clean plate was a testimony for this dish! It was so good this girl almost spoke in tongues on a Saturday. His lobster was too pretty, towards the end he offered a bite. That's his testimony of goodness because he usually shares right away. The drinks... My summer peach was fantastic! I usually don't go for seconds but my babe knew it was a hit and didn't ask he just ordered me another one. He loved his drink. He's a Manhattan guy so that was his pick! Overall this little gem is going to have to be put in my DMV fave bookmarks. Service was great! The hostess was a bit out of it but our server made up for it. No manager presence but it's only rated two dollar symbols so the expectation wasn't there for me for this place. (3 money symbols and yes I want to see a manager, it's proper etiquette) Overall, good, good! Quality food for a reasonable price. For that reason 5 stars! Ambiance is great! We sat outside with this nice weather! Perfect weather for outside dining in July.

This trip brought us to The Fish Market, as we have tried several other places over the decades. The place is much larger than it looks and has indoor, outdoor, upstairs, and bar area seating. We were seated immediately, and our server was the sweetest lady but not really conversational when we asked questions about the area or the meal. She had no other tables but might not be her personality, which is fine. Knowing we wanted ice cream, we declined drinks, but the bar and its menu were pretty extensive. When we ordered, we landed on the fresh fish tacos and one of the best seafood linguines I've ever had. The sauce was light and didn't puddle at the bottom and was served with scallops, white fish, mussels, and shrimp. The fresh broccoli and grated Parmesan topped off an incredible choice of pasta! At the end of the day, we will continue to try other places in Old Town, but as long as they have that pasta dish, The Fish Market will always be in the running for a return trip!

It's a nice looking restaurant though it has a bit of an old, historic feel to it. The restrooms are upstairs and very small. One stall in the ladies' room didn't have any purse hooks which was a tad annoying (they were broken). Ordered the crab cakes, which came with a heaping serving of french fries. Every entree also came with either champagne or strawberries and cream. The cream was thick and delicious. The crab cakes were dry, unfortunately. Maybe it's partly because there was no filler, which is a good thing, but I wished they were more moist. And the fries had a crispy batter, which are not my favorite. Lastly, I wished the meal came with a vegetable of some sort. And I didn't see any sides to order from, and no veggies for apps. The meal was a bit disappointing, especially for the price point (which is different on the menu than what's on their website). My party was seated by the window but the internet still didn't work well. Had to request the wifi password. I didn't realize I had been here once before, for Mother's Day. Now that I got that out of the way, let me continue. https://youtu.be/5uPuX7Fk_cE?si=H7NI2vI_uMWAeREq Appetizer Octopus Ceviche -- $18 I told our server that I didn't want any pork on it. She seemed surprised and told me it didn't come with pork. I had already looked up "pancetta crumble" and knew pancetta was pork, so I showed her the menu. She then said she knew what pancetta was and would make sure there was no pork on my plate. The ceviche itself didn't have much flavor. I didn't really enjoy it, but it wasn't bad enough for me to complain or send it back. Dinner Housemade "Parkerhouse" Rolls -- $8 These came out fresh and hot with butter. They were good. No complaints. Chef's Fresh Catch -- $50 The fresh catch was grouper. The fish had some salt on it and a nice char, but the heavy cream-based sauce on the plate didn't have much flavor. Again, I didn't really enjoy it, but not enough to complain or return the dish. Jumbo Lump Crab Oscar -- $28 Wow, this was not good at all. I probably should have sent it back, but I didn't. Sides Crispy Brussels Sprouts -- $13 These were good, but somewhat oily. Yukon Gold Potato Purée -- $12 They were okay. Nothing to write home about. Dessert Coconut Cream Bread Pudding -- $14 It was just okay. The coconut flakes was too much, in my opinion, and eventually became overwhelming. It didn't feel very balanced. Nothing was so terrible that I felt the need to ask for a manager, but I also didn't enjoy most of what I ordered. I ordered it, so I paid for it and kept it moving. Also, a 25% gratuity was already added to the bill. Maybe that is why the service was lacking, because they already knew they were going to get 25% "allegedly". Honestly, I don't think I'll be back.
