5 Star Food (lunch) 1 Star Service We stopped and ate lunch here on our way up to Lake Tahoe. It was probably right toward the end of their lunch rush. It took quite some time for the server to finally approach us. Once she did, we were greeted with "what would you like?" No hello or anything. We ordered 3 items. A tuna melt. A Cobb salad with no blue cheese and a side of sourdough toast. And a half sandwich with soup combo, with cheese on the sandwich. The Cobb salad cake with blue cheese and a side of blue cheese dressing. No toast. The soup and salad combo came with cheese on the soup, not the sandwich. The tuna melt was fine because there was no modification to it. Once we mentioned it to the server, she blamed everything on the kitchen and acted as though it was kind of funny that this happened. She did discount our bill for us, which we weren't expecting which was kind. The good news is that the food was fantastic. The tuna melt was the winner. It was probably the best tuna salad we've all ever tasted. So although we didn't get great service, we will be back. Hopefully a different server on a better day will help us next time. read more

If I were to tell you what I'm thankful for today, I would say I am thankful for the crew at Whiskey Creek tonight!! The hostess promptly greeted us with a smile and got us to our table within a minute or two. The menu was set up for some great regular dinner items and also roasted turkey or ham. Addie took amazing care of us in the dining room. We opted for a ham dinner and a prime rib dinner, both with yummy traditional Thanksgiving sides. She gave us the appropriate amount of space to have a wonderful and romantic dinner but was very attentive to our every need. We wolfed down our overly-generous portions and then decided to move to the bar. The live saxophone player was playing fantastic songs, not too loud (I'm old LOL). We sat at one end of the bar and Tom took our order. He was very attentive and a really good conversationalist. It was obvious that Tom is very good at making every guest feel like they are his only guest while managing all guests at the same time. We have been to this restaurant many times over the last 15 years...and I absolutely plan on coming here many times over the next 15 and more!! Best fine dining restaurant in the area for miles!! Whiskey Creek does have a nice atmosphere and a lot to the restaurant and bar section. However the food is a bit subpar compared to the what I was expecting according to the reviews. I order the duck linguini and it was beyond poor. The "duck" looked and tasted like spam. The rest of the dish was a ton of cream and cheese. Others at the table had the portobello sandwich and the lab which were also not very well prepared. We ended up sending back the lamb and the linguini. On the other hand they were really nice about taking the food back and over all the service is really nice. Wow! Deliciousness, I had this Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich, amazing would best describe it!
