Overpriced in my opinion and cash only on weekends. Came to this bar while visiting Big Bear to try and have some fun out. There was a cover charge of $10 due to there being a live band which was okay.. but kind of frustrating that their ATM machine inside charged a fee of $5. Their drinks were overpriced as well. Paid $26 just for 2 shots.. and these shots were pretty tiny. Also they charged $1.50 for each game of pool lol. My friend had to pull out a bunch of cash so that we wouldn't need to pay the $5 fee every time we wanted to take out cash for drinks/pool. We arrived in the late morning on 1/22 after walking around the village. Sometimes a person wants a bloody mary....the sweetheart wanted one and Whiskey Dave's did not disappoint. He enjoyed the drinks and I enjoyed my diet Coke. The atmosphere at that time of day is very laid back. The crowd started making their way in to watch sports and music videos on their many screens. I think we will surely be back on our next trip just to enjoy the music and people watching. It had snowed the night before our visit so stepping out onto the outdoor deck was a treat! Food was over priced, burnt or over cooked everything we ordered. Had wings, sauce selection was like the selection in my kitchen, wings were over cooked. Asked for blue cheese they gave me 4 ranch. BBQ Pork cheesy fries, fries were burnt. Pork was good but smothered in sauce and over powered the dish. We ordered jalapeño poppers all 4 were burnt. I'm really only giving this place 3 stars because they have live music, a good DJ, and a nice big patio. Other than that, their drinks are watered down, over priced and have bartenders that are rude and roll their eyes. I didn't get her name but the older blonde lady with the glasses who works the bar by the bathrooms needs a serious attitude adjustment. I asked if I could get an itemized receipt considering I had people paying me back. She did it but after that any time one of us went up to the bar, she would ignore us and we'd stand there forever until one of the guys finally helped us or she'd roll her eyes whenever we asked for anything. 3 out of 5 of us in our group have worked in bars and restaurants and know the type of attitude you should display and hers definitely wasn't it. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Never in my experiences at Big Bear did I ever receive such bad service. The bar tender and security were very rude and disrespectful. After getting into an argument, they tried to fight me and proceeded to follow us to another bar we went to. Here, they tried to get my party and I kicked out (which they failed to do so). I was visiting in town this past week. Stopped in a few times and really enjoyed. Definitely a "locals" bar, but everyone was super cool! Bartender was on it, and had our drinks ready to go in moments. Plenty of LOUD music, which is great! Jukebox available as well. Place appears to be set up for bands to play as well, wouldn't know, since we were day drinking. ;-) Pool tables, huge outdoor patio in the back if you want to step outside for a bit. So happy we found this bar especially during Covid! My vodka sours were yummy and my husband enjoyed his Jameson neat. Outdoor seating was comfy and area was shaded very well. Not too many options in BB for the after 9pm crowd but I like this spot because it's spacious and there's room to breathe (Murray's across the street is a bit of a tight squeeze). Pros: Great bartenders, good selection of drinks and ample parking. Cons: The food is remarkably bad, even for standard fried bar food like nachos and mozzarella sticks. It's also weirdly expensive for the ambiance, which is classic sports/dive bar - think pool tables and a bathroom that's missing a stall door. Our total bill was $100 including tip for 3 apps (all very very bad tasting) and 3 drinks, one of which was a draft Dos Equis that cost $11. All that said, if you're in Big Bear and want somewhere to have drinks and watch some sports ball, it's totally decent. And it's worth repeating, the service behind the bar was great. The food is just too horrible for any more than 3 stars. read more

We repeatedly and RESPECTFULLY asked for a reason and they said "I don't have to give you one" absolutely pathetic this place is trash. Killed our whole night because they probably just wanted to get the next big group of people in and charge them a cover. By the way when we were entering half way through our group the bouncers switched and the new guy tried saying it's now a $10 cover. This is the kind of place that cares about money, not customers. This place was absolute trash. One of the bouncer kept aggressively saying there was a cover fee and belittling customers who were waiting in line. It was overall very sad to see and it seemed like this man just needed a hug. He then started to tell our entire group to go to an other bar down the road, where there's other guys, inferring that sounds like a bad time (homophobia maybe??).
