The food was great, the service was awesome (Patrick), the ambiance good but the music!!!! Tragic, horrible!

This bar is incredibly cramped, seating maybe 10 people, with some seats awkwardly packed into the corners. We ordered a round of drinks--just a beer and a Tito's with Sprite. The bartender seemed inexperienced but was making an effort. However, the crowd was overly intoxicated and should've been cut off earlier. So let's be clear, Whiskey Jack's is, on the surface, nothing more than a small alcove extension of the Grotto Pizza restaurant next door. But look deeper and it is so much more. It is an idea. An idea of summer. It opens right onto the boardwalk facing the ocean. People walking the boards just wander in, attracted by the loud music, the extremely laid back vibe, and the look of utter contentment on the faces of the patrons. Everyone is in t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops, likely sunburned and mostly taking a brief respite from their busy beach vacations. I usually go during the day, grab an excellent Bloody Mary (or two), switch to beer, order a slice (or two) of pizza, and just soak it all in. Have a chat with equally content strangers and the efficient and friendly bartenders. Life is good. The space is mostly taken up by the bar with a few high tops. It's not a place you stay all day, but you stop by, have a drink, and know you have made a good choice. read more

This place is neatly tucked in between a grottos and something else on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. One of the many establishments that grace us with their presence, providing a convenient location for consumption of food and beverages while relaxing at the beach. We had just arrived early Saturday afternoon during June's youth. We were starving after the drive to the beach and wanted food AND drink simultaneously. The bar is of nice size however the overall volume of the place is small. A few tables are squeezed up against the wall, if you're unfortunate enough to miss out on bar seating. The service was fair. Our waitress was nice enough but busy given how many people were coming in. She checked in on us slightly less often that I would have preferred but was pretty quick in getting us our orders once we did actually order. We both ordered a crush, which was my first. Due to its overwhelming sweetness, I decided to switch to dogfish head which they do not have on draught. They also didn't have 120 min which is probably a good idea, so I settled on 60 min. For food we both ordered just single pizza slices. Thrashers and Kohr's brothers are both around the corner, don't forget. The pizza slices took FOREVER. Like an unjustifiable amount of time. Our drinks came out promptly, which was this place's saving grace. This place is fine in terms of boardwalk beach standards, and it's location and proximity to the beach make it a good place to get a drank and some grub at the beach. read more

My friends who hate Grottos went there for me. I absolutely love their pizza. Although they probably won't admit it, my buddies did too (we did finish the whole thing). As for service, Jessica was AWESOME! She was super personable, fun, and attentive. Her wonderful attitude gelled perfectly with the beach atmosphere. She made a good experience great! read more

Unfortunately Rehoboth Beach doesn't have any beach bars so the next best thing is drinking beside the beach on the boardwalk where you can still see the ocean and sand and get that gentle breeze while getting your buzz on. This is limited to less than half a dozen businesses, Whiskey Jack's being one of the better ones. It's actually owned and connected to a Grotto Pizza but feels like a completely separate business. The front of the place is completely open which makes you feel like you're outside minus the sun and heat. 90s music seemed to be the only thing going through speakers but you won't here me complain. The small bar was definitely a mix of people and tends to fill up in the evenings. Prices are very good as a 22oz Coors Light is $3.50, better beer options (like a Dogfish Head IPA) are $6 for a 22oz. read more

I may have strayed in on a bad evening, but I don't see that as an excuse for a bar to be filthy, full of flies, and smelling strongly of bleach. I believe the bathrooms or some other area in the back were being scrubbed down at the time. The cramped room provides little room to maneuver, and limited seating left me at a rather sticky and stained table along the side. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because the bartender I had was friendly (though a bit gruff) and the drinks he made were superb. If you like a good divebar, this is for you. read more

Nicole B and I stopped here on Saturday night. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The bartender moved in slow motion and I ordered the Dewey Buoy which I have had before at Grottos. This one was nothing like it, and was so terrible I couldn't even drink it. Not that the bartender noticed, and it took forever to get our bill. Listen, whiskey jack's is a must. Great atmosphere for having lunch while on the boardwalk. Grotto's pizza is phenomenal. Plus have a few beers while listening to the waves crash down. Boom! It's a great time. The bartenders and wait staff have always been great. read more

I would not have stayed to eat if I had been to the men's room first. It reeked so bad I could not use it. There was a sign on the bathroom door with a check list to for cleaning it. Its not being followed. My wife said the ladies' room was not much better. A lot of the ceiling tiles in the restaurant have black stains. I've been to several other Grotto's and enjoyed the food and experience. Whiskey Jacks turned me off! read more

For a place with Whiskey in the name, this was a terrible disappointment. Looks to be a decent beer bar, but that isn't the impression the name gives you. Just don't go there if you want good whiskey. read more
