I recently watched the movie, "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle". Don't watch the movie, this is completely misleading. White Castle isn't good at all, the buns were soggy, the fries were soggy, the patties look like roast beef, and there were too many damn pickles. I'm giving them a 4 because as long as I've been in Music City they have survived the test of time. The lines are almost always long. It's the only food in this city besides McDonald's you can get at anytime of the day. I'm a late owl and I'm always studying so I'm so happy to be able to get food at 3 am and so forth. Always a favorite, White Castle always has the best chocolate shakes anywhere, and I hadn't had a Slider forever! So this was a treat to stop and enjoy. This location isn't in the best spot. It's near downtown and near the expressway. We were walking back to our hotel after doing the Honky Tonk bars, so we ignore the untidy area and went inside. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. The menu on the board still had excellent prices and the same food items. This is definitely the place to go for a good cheap meal, and the must-have milk shakes. read more

Was riding through town on my way home, and as usual when I come to N'ville, I always stop in to WC for my usuals. On this Sunday early afternoon, I was met with a "we're closed, due to staffing" from someone who was clearly inside working. Needless to say, I hit the road to head back home disappointed. We don't have a White Castle near us in Texas and obviously I see why now. I requested no onions and once I got my food it had onions.The cashier looked at my burger and said the burgers come with onions on it and they try to scrape them off. I just don't get why they don't say that when you order it. I ate half a slider then through them in the trash. Taste just like the frozen burgers at the store. Fries were great. If a sub 1 were possible I would do that. I have been to this WC many times when I go back home. I went in Mar on the way to the airport because it is my go to. Never again. The place has never been super clean, but this time it was nauseatingly disgusting. No one was in any hurry. No apparent assigned tasks as they all seemed to be working in a tandem major cf accomplishing very little. Drive-thru was backed up so I went inside where it took nearly 40 mins to place an order and get my food. And it was wrong!! I didn't bother to go back in and ask for them to rectify the mistake. Just scraped the cheese off and ate. Considering those working there are who they are, and it is typical of other places around the country I have been, I suggest avoiding WC on Broadway at all costs including starving. Where to even begin... this location needs to be demolished, rebuilt, and restaffed. I've never once made it through the drive thru in less than 45 minutes. I feel like the idiot for even giving this place a chance after my first visit. The staff are rude and often act as though I'm either invisible or such a burden for simply wanting to purchase food. I always order in advance through the app but that makes no difference as they always have difficulty locating the order. If you do have a day to waste on starving, go ahead and let them have you pull up to bring your food out. Spoiler: they aren't coming and are hoping that you'll grow impatient and drive away. I had to visit White Castle, in hopes of finding Harold and Kumar! It was my first time visiting a White Castle or even being in the same vicinity as one, so it was only inevitable that I try this casual fast food spot for myself. The place is small and there was only one other customer in there. It seemed that the drive-thru was busy with a steady stream of cars in line, and most of the staff there was preparing those orders. We ended up getting the 10 cheeseburger slider combination, which also came with two drinks and we added two small fries. After you order you can watch them make your food, as there is a window directly in front of the griddle that the burgers are made on. The cheeseburger sliders are simple - there really only is small grilled onions that is similar to McDonald's, one or two pickle coins and just a small, thin patty with melted American cheese on a fluffy bun. You add your own condiments of mayo, ketchup or mustard which is right near where the pop and utensils are. Overall, it wasn't a bad slider nor would I ever pull a Harold and Kumar road trip for! I could easily see myself going here though if there was any in my area, after a night of drinking, of course. The sliders are really small, so when I found out we were ordering 10 for the three of us I thought it would be too much but it really wasn't. You can easily down a slider in two bites, so order plenty if you're hungry. read more

This is a must-stop location anytime we have to travel to the Nashville area. We typically buy a sackful of 10 or even a Crave Case of 30 to bring home. We only have the "other" slider restaurant in our hometown, so White Castle is a special treat for us! We picked up a Crave Case of 30 to go, and we each had a double cheese plain for the road! Good food. Decent Price. Order was incorrect but fixed quickly. Clean and well kept place. I still prefer Krystals burgers over White Castle Burgers BUT this was still good. my wife and I went to Nashville last weekend and on the way to the Luke Combs Jason Aldean concert was stopped in at this White Castle to eat to soak up some of the alcohol that we were going to consume and I can honestly say I wish we would have gone to a different establishment. Don't get me wrong love White Castles awesome food most White Castle's that I get a great and I'll give a four out of five this one unfortunately was slow the food was wrong they didn't give us our french fries the cheese was not melted at all on the burgers and it was just cold and not worth the calories or the money that we spent very very disappointed 1 out of 5 Stars I highly highly recommend stay away from this place read more

Sadly, the negative reviews written this year don't surprise me. This location is the most convenient for us (close to our hotel & the airport) but it has gone down-hill. We last visited in 2014 and it was much better. This time the patties were kind of mealy & gray & the buns, over-steamed. The sandwich collapsed quickly. The promotional Apocalyptic Waffle Slider was just OK. The staff has ZERO personality & are border-line unfriendly. We come out from CA where I dream about going to a real White Castle. I haven't had a White Castle burger since I was a kid, and it was the frozen kind you get at the grocery store. My dad loved these little slider burgers. I wasn't impressed at the time. Well fast forward through time and space. I found myself in Nashville for a short time, and we saw White Castle on our way back to our Airbnb. My friends discovered that White Castle now carry Impossible Burgers. We are a group of vegans, vegetarians and an omnivore. We all opted to try the Impossible Burger slider. If you deduct the cheese, the burger is vegan. They were in the midst of renovating, so we had to take our burgers to go. I would have given 4 stars if we could have dined in. WARNING: The following review is extremely biased. Parental guidance is advised. I'm pretty sure the name White Castle needs no introduction, so I'll get right down to it: I have never had a taste of White Castle. Not really. Yeah they do sell the same delicacy in supermarket frozen food section, but when it's made fresh right in front of you on that grill skillet it's just not the same at all. The meat still retain a lot of its juice (or grease however you want to call it.) The diced unions truly as described in the movie "little flavor crystal that just burst in your mouth." Be warned, if you are the kind that does not like your bun mushy, you might be a little disappointed, because those little slider roll/bun just soak up all the meat juice, and doubly so if you ordered the double cheeseburger combo. So glad I walked in as I did, and not dilly dolly outside trying to take the pictures or checking in, because they locked the door behind me as soon as I walked in. Apparently dine-in stopped at 2:30 AM. There are certainly some colorful population coming through that front door in late hours of the day. Went through the drive-thru after heading home from bar hopping downtown. The prices are so cheap, suspiciously cheap for anything with meat, that I ordered onion rings and a fish filet sandwich. They accidentally gave us an order of crinkle cut fries. The fries were barely warm and hardly crispy. My onion rings were great - hot, real onions, right amount of batter, medium greasy. The fish sandwich was dry, and tasted like it had been sitting around all day. Service was professional and timely considering the time of night. I would only return for more onion rings and try to come when Church's Chicken next door is open. read more

After not having had a real, fresh, White Castle hamburger for nearly 20 years, I was super excited to be in Nashville for a conference. I walked over, from my hotel, to grab some late evening hamburgers. In the old days, you knew that the grills were only cleaned 2 times a day, so the later in the day you went, the more oniony/greasy the burgers were gonna be. Bring it on! I got in and ordered 6 burgers. I opted for some onion rings. The manager told me that he was going to make fresh onion rings for me. I noticed the soda fountain was out of most of the flavors. I got my sandwiches and rings and walked back to the hotel, in the rain. I got to my hotel room and tore into the first burger. Dry. What the heck? How could this be dry? Where is the grease? Where is the onion perfume? Even the bread was dry. I hoped it was only this one burger. Sadly, the rest were also super dry. The onion rings were hot and crispy, but I can get those anywhere. Major letdown. I had even thought about another visit before I flew home, but since these burgers were so terrible, I decided to not waste my money. So sad. I grew up with a White Castle location two miles from my house, visited WC literally hundreds of times in my life. Last night was EASILY the WORST customer service experience of ANY RESTAURANT OR ESTABLISHMENT I have EVER VISITED. 100% of your staff working 12/23 Sat pm/ Sun am @ 12:10am needs COMPLETE retraining. While having 8 (EIGHT!) workers behind the counter, we were not acknowledged for 15-20 mins. No "we'll be right with you, sorry for the delay,...." NOTHING. Just complete avoidance of eye contact. When the gentleman behind me asked if they were going to take our order, the worker barked that they had "too many drive-thru orders" to take our order. Rarely have I seen a paying customer spoken to in that manner. After that, in walk 2 MORE workers, clocked in and STILL did not acknowledge the line waiting to order. (Please feel free to check cameras for time verification) Since we were standing there for sooo long, I witnessed NUMEROUS health code violations including cross contamination (across multiple surfaces), no hand washing after touching money, faces, noses, hair, pulling up pants... Disgusting. We then decided to leave. I will be sure to file a complaint with the Dept of Health and follow up with your Corporate Office, as this is a serious issue that must be addressed . The entire team working that shift is a DISGRACE and should be ashamed of themselves. read more
