One word... DELICIOUS. This may just be my favorite food next to candied yams. White castle really made me feel at home. Sliders were just MM MM MM! Reminded me of Great Grandma McButterscoth lil sliders. Golly gee I am excited for my next visit! Sure i'll going through the drive thru twice, but you only live once! My husband doesn't have to know about my cheat treats. !!! Love love LOVE!!!

The shareable meal #10 with the four sliders (my brother took one of them)

Overall okay experience. Ordered online and got pretty much everything. The lady in the drive thru didn't want to be there but was still nice so I applaud her. However, I ordered the shareable meal #10 (which comes with four small fries), the original slider combo, and a 12 piece chicken rings. When I received the order, I noticed one of the small fries was missing. I tried to call them three times to see if I could drop by and get them but I was sent to an automated message all three times. Pretty decent location, I would just check your food before leaving.

Since we don't have White Castle in California, and I have been hearing about it for years, I just had to try it while in Illinois. I don't get it. Maybe it's one of those things where if you are raised with it you like it. I know my sister's boyfriend from Ohio thinks In N Out is "just okay" but that's probably because it's different from what he is accustomed to. We each ordered a slider and we shared an order of chicken rings, lol, how could we pass up rings of chicken? They also had "fish nibblers," we chose to pass on those. The burger was nasty, in my opinion. It was oddly creamy and the piece of meat was so thin it almost wasn't there. I attempted to lift the top bun up to see what was making it creamy, and whatever cheese they are using is like glue, I could not lift up the bun. Yuck! The chicken rings though, we surprisingly good. I would eat those again, but you won't catch me eating another burger from there or buying the frozen ones in the grocery store!

May double cheeseburger looks old and my cheese sticks are all stuck together and had fries in the bottom of the bag. I have never seen anything like it. Who served food like this? Gross.

They took care of "That Guy" - dropping a 60 slider order at high noon lunch rush.

The team here cared for my cravings. The establishment was clean and they were professional. I informed them I had a fever- and the only prescription was two 30 crave cases. They quickly absolved my hunger whilst taking care of other clientele. Thanks Crew. That Guy.

BURGERMEISTER If you…read morehaven't been introduced to the joy that is a Culver's bacon deluxe, now is the time. All good people of the Midwest should know about this wholesome chain of blue-and-white striped burger joints. This Culver's in Romeoville is right off of Weber Rd, one mile south of I-55. A quick Yelp search reveals this is the 7th Culver's for which I've penned a review, in case you wanted proof of my unwavering fandom. Whether you're ordering a single ($9) or double Butterburger (or a tasty pork tenderloin sandwich), a value basket is the way to go. It includes fries + a drink, and let's be honest, you're going to want 16oz of their signature root beer. I like to swap out the crinkle cut fries for mashed potatoes w/gravy, and sometimes I'll throw in an order of cheese curds ($5). Pro tip: fill out the survey on your receipt, and you can get a free single scoop of custard on your next visit. I always go with the daily flavor 'du jour', having tried espresso toffee bar, salted caramel pecan, mint explosion, caramel cashew, Oreo overload, and a few others. Vanilla frozen custard seems to be the default, but don't sleep on the chocolate--it's awesome. For a chain that's typically lauded for being so darn pleasant, I haven't gotten quite the same level of friendly vibes here as I have at other Culver's. They've been cool in the drive-thru, although on occasion they'll forget to tell me the order total or say thanks. Last visit, the flavor-of-the-day sign out front was blank, so I had no idea what they were scooping until I went inside. Ahhhh Culver's, you're slipping! * TL;DR * Make no mistake, an average (okay, better-than-average) Culver's still tops most other burger places on their best day. I'll admit that I've come to expect universal greatness from this brand, so anything less than 5* feels surprising. To me, a dip in customer service isn't as big a deal as an empty flavor-of-the-day sign. How do I know I'm not setting myself up for disappointment? What if the rotating custard flavor was salt & vinegar, or murky pond water?? I'd be headed over to Freddy's. It's tough to compete with the rockstars at the Culver's in Franklin Park, but they're trying hard enough here to get my return business.

Had a gyro with fries. The fries were way overly salty. To the point where they were almost inedible. I can understand now why they were not busy. BLUE COLLAR MAN A…read morehard day's work demands a hearty lunch. Halsted Street Dawgs is a relatively new counter service joint on Weber Rd in Romeoville. They're situated on the south end of strip mall home to a Rosati's and a Subway. They opened in mid-April 2024 (the space used to be All Star Diner) and the banner outside almost seems temporary. Hopefully they're here for more than just a short stint because..... The gyros sandwich ($8) was great with a good portion of seasoned gyro meat, onions, tomato, and tzadziki. Fries were fine, same style as Mcdonalds and just as salty, which I liked. I'm typically a crinkle cut guy, though these tasted better than they looked. The 'dinger' ($10) disappointingly did not come with fries--as all other hot dogs did--but I still enjoyed it. This unique Southside item is a tamale inside a chili cheese dog with onions and sport peppers. Though tasty, I wouldn't get this again (ridiculously carb-heavy) and will stick with a loaded chili cheese dawg on future visits. Both times I've stopped in for lunch, they had JERRY SPRINGER on TV! Maury and Dr Phil might be super trashy television, but they'll never match the hair-pulling, chair-throwing WTF insanity of the Jerry f*cking Springer show. * TL;DR * Not all of us have the luxury of taking a 'business lunch'; most of the time we've gotta grab-N-go before our boss texts us "where are you?" Hole-in-the-wall places like this serving hot dogs/gyros/etc are some of my favorite ones to hit up around midday. There's usually a few solid menu items and stereotypically gruff counter service, plus a bevy of customers that look like they just finished 1st shift at the construction site. It's always nice to have a place like Halsted Street Dawgs around.

This place was shockingly delicious. Let's start with the elephant in the room... time. It took longer than I was expecting to receive my food, however there is a really good reason for that. The wings were prepared perfectly. I do mean perfectly. Juicy, but completely cooked and crispy. I seriously doubt these were frozen fried because the wings were cleaned very well. I've been to wing places serving every 4th wing still has a feather (yuck) or overly breaded or salted. Not this place! These wings have an incredible crispy texture but still hot and flavorful. I was considering 12 wings or more just so I could try different flavors but I settled on an 8 piece combo. Instead of fries I elected fried corn seasoned with Cajun seasoning. Very tasty. For the wings , I chose two flavors I wasn't experienced with: 1st salted egg. This was a very interesting flavor that had a powdery texture but a finish that wasn't overly salty but incredibly flavorful. The 2nd was Buldak & Gochujang and that was sweet and savory with a light touch of heat. These flowers really intensify the perfectly cooked chicken. The presentation was also well placed. I never thought I would give 5 stars to a chicken wing place but anything less would be unfair to the cook/chef and staff of this place. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and staff very friendly and accommodating. My only frustration is ... I'm visiting from Denver so I can't get this place without a flight or 900 mile drive. This will be my stop next time I'm back in Bolingbrook. I wish other wing places trained with this staff as this is how you do it right and this place was off the chain! Well done!!!

LESS FOR MORE This…read moreHalal chicken spot charges an awful lot for their food. The Port of Peri Peri has a storefront next to a Dunkin on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook, about half a mile north of I-55.  We tried them once before (in 2020) hoping for a better experience five years later, unfortunately that wasn't the case. My biggest hangup is that everything is just too expensive.  A ¼ chicken is $10 and comes with no sides, which are $4.50 each.  Compare this to Nando's where the same ¼ chicken is $7.75 and sides are just $3. The chicken & rice bowl ($18) was my wife's pick and she enjoyed it, however I don't think it was a good value.  Twenty bucks for what amounts to 4 chicken tenders over rice?  C'mon. I will say that their stuff is legitimately SPICY.  Even the 'mild' has plenty of punch, nevermind the 'hot' which sent me into a coughing fit.  Definitely steer towards the lower end of their heat scale. Their pop machine was out-of-order (and it appeared to have been for some time).  Dining room chairs weren't the comfiest, and the random chandelier - although elegant - doesn't in with fit the ambiance. Employees were nice. I used a coupon mailer for $5 off, which made the eyebrow-raising cost a bit more tolerable.  Without one, I probably wouldn't return. * TL;DR * I'm not a fan of overpaying, be it clothes, cars, or chicken(s). An a la carte sandwich here is a whopping $14!  (only $9 at Nando's) Also of note, these Peri fries don't come with a special mayo or anything for dipping.  Perhaps corn is a better choice? The best thing I can say about Port of Peri Peri is that they don't play around with spices.  When they say something is hot, they mean it.  Other than that, not too many redeeming qualities here.

Based on food, that 2-star above would be a "4". It's a family-run establishment, and therein lies the reason for the 2-star mark. They have rules. Oboy, do they have rules. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good. My carping here nonetheless, it's a fun place to go, and you are guaranteed a fine feed. But if you're in mixed company, work out who is going to grab the tab before you sit down...
