BURGERMEISTER If you haven't been introduced to the joy that is a Culver's bacon deluxe, now is the time. All good people of the Midwest should know about this wholesome chain of blue-and-white striped burger joints. This Culver's in Romeoville is right off of Weber Rd, one mile south of I-55. A quick Yelp search reveals this is the 7th Culver's for which I've penned a review, in case you wanted proof of my unwavering fandom. Whether you're ordering a single ($9) or double Butterburger (or a tasty pork tenderloin sandwich), a value basket is the way to go. It includes fries + a drink, and let's be honest, you're going to want 16oz of their signature root beer. I like to swap out the crinkle cut fries for mashed potatoes w/gravy, and sometimes I'll throw in an order of cheese curds ($5). Pro tip: fill out the survey on your receipt, and you can get a free single scoop of custard on your next visit. I always go with the daily flavor 'du jour', having tried espresso toffee bar, salted caramel pecan, mint explosion, caramel cashew, Oreo overload, and a few others. Vanilla frozen custard seems to be the default, but don't sleep on the chocolate--it's awesome. For a chain that's typically lauded for being so darn pleasant, I haven't gotten quite the same level of friendly vibes here as I have at other Culver's. They've been cool in the drive-thru, although on occasion they'll forget to tell me the order total or say thanks. Last visit, the flavor-of-the-day sign out front was blank, so I had no idea what they were scooping until I went inside. Ahhhh Culver's, you're slipping! * TL;DR * Make no mistake, an average (okay, better-than-average) Culver's still tops most other burger places on their best day. I'll admit that I've come to expect universal greatness from this brand, so anything less than 5* feels surprising. To me, a dip in customer service isn't as big a deal as an empty flavor-of-the-day sign. How do I know I'm not setting myself up for disappointment? What if the rotating custard flavor was salt & vinegar, or murky pond water?? I'd be headed over to Freddy's. It's tough to compete with the rockstars at the Culver's in Franklin Park, but they're trying hard enough here to get my return business. read more

I was out shopping and decided to stop at culvers. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries and drink went through the drive-through and the person who took my order was nice. Great burgers, especially the Mushroom Swiss. And their cheese curds a must. But don't stop there get that desert too.

For a Romeoville fast food chain, they're pretty family oriented and clean ambience. Their friendly staff and service. prices aren't too bad. Probably one of the better places for fish dinner that won't break the bank. FYI, on weekends it gets really busy so you might have to wait extra longer for the fish dinners. read more

Visiting from California, so we had to try this Midwest classic. The butter burger was tasty, with a soft bun and fresh ingredients. The fish sandwich was large with juicy, flaky slab of cod. The chicken tenders were crispy. And to top it off, we tried the vanilla frozen custard. It was pretty good, but I prefer the custard at Freddie's. #61/2022 Another Culver's another franchisee So many locations franchise by so many different ones. This is the same guy that owns the franchise in Frankfort Illinois he only has two. I walked in I was greeted very pleasantly at this one they had a very good staff working here this is a very clean Culver's like most of their menus use not a lot really changes. They are a test market though they did have a couple of different things here though as far as deluxe like for hash browns french fries and a few other things would sort of change the little bit with bacon and sour cream sort of like loaded as a lot of places like to call things. Other than your standard Culver's butter burgers your dinners and everything else. One thing I did try here that surprised it was to root beer it was really really good apparently they make their own it's not made by nobody and it's very tasty there's a little history I'm going to put a couple pictures of them so why it's so good at least to me. I had a regular value basket the deluxe single catch up mustard cheese lettuce tomato. French fries no salt with a cup of cheese for dipping some of their yummy diet root beer. And of course when I got done I had to get a nice scoop of the chocolate straight frozen custard. It's interesting about this one is also they have a lot of different flavors of the day fortunately the month is almost over had I not been so hungry I might have just came in and tried out the Georgia peach number 21 boy that looks like some yummers. But all in all I was very satisfied this is a nice run one good franchisee compared to the crappy one and Homer Glen near my house which is just terrible. And unfortunately the reviews seem to reflect it too so it's not a joke I've gone in about two or three times and every time I've left I have not been satisfied but keep up the good work here. read more

Well, I've been here a number of times and the food was always decent. Not great, but always on par for what I expected. Not today. Ordered online, picked up the burgers and brought them home. Checked the bag before I left for accuracy. Everything was accounted for, but I also should have opened the wrappers. My goodness what a downer. All the buns were burnt. All the sandwiches were smashed flat. Ordered 2 identical deluxe burgers and one of them didn't have tomato and the lettuce was almost non existent. The topper was they were also out of bbq sauce for the tenders. Don't know if this will make me stop going, but they did not endear themselves tonight. read more

Let's start off by saying the employees here are a great bunch at doing their job in this covid situation. Now in terms of the food I'd honestly give it 4 stars. I got the Culver's Deluxe with no tomato and I did enjoy the sandwich although a bit greasy. The problem I had with the food is that the bun was noticeably cold when I received the sandwich while the burger etc was hot. This didn't serve as a major distractor in my overall enjoyment of the burger and fries. I will say the Minute Maid they employ uses a bit to much water and not enough syrup in the distribution. read more

Culvers in Romeoville/Bolingbrook I cannot remember which Culver I was at both of these towns are so close together all I remember is that the owner worked there and was the most friendly and welcoming gentleman. In fact the entire staff was the same. They walked around asking if you need a refill of your drink and also tossing your trash for you. Everyone had a smile and looked happt to be there. I have 5 stars because the key ingredient this particular place added was love to their food. I feel bad I can't remember which is which. Not all Culver's are created equally. The ownership at this location is exceptional and it shows. The restaurant is immaculately clean, from the dining room to the restrooms. And speaking of the restrooms, they are equipped with sharp containers for safe disposal of hypodermic syringes for those who need. The owner himself is often seen taking and preparing orders, as well as visiting guests who are eating in the dining area. A very friendly and personable man. Every employee we have encountered is extremely friendly and helpful. The burgers and dinner entrees are all delicious. My personal favorite is the mushroom and Swiss burger with onion rings. My wife is a huge fan of the cheese curds. The cod dinner is also a winner. Don't forget the Concrete Mixers and turtle sundaes for dessert! So imagine a cross breed between McDonalds, Dairy Queen and Portillos and you get Culvers. Now don't get me wrong, I like my hands glistening in the sun from the grease of a dead cow - but when it makes my wax paper basket liner clear..... that's just gross! The prices are okay, but I've always wondered if I'm suppose to tip the server as they stalk you throughout the restaruant.... I say nay. This place is made of all the stuff fast food should be. It is fairly quick, has reliably good food and an always friendly staff. Sometimes we come here to eat and sometimes just stop in the drive through for a milkshake. The food here is a tad more expensive than the average fast food joint, but the quality is usually way higher too. My only issues with this location are that the burgers tend to be really greasy and the flavor of the day flavors are usually terrible. Sometimes they have awesome flavors like strawberry cheesecake or key lime pie, but usually they are icky ones like pralines or some sort of caramel nut concoction. Yuck. read more

I never review fast food restaurants because the food is basically all the same whether you eat at a franchise in IL or FL. What's the point of reviewing it? However, I must give a shoutout to this specific Culver's for their great service. Being from out of state, Culver's is a bit of a novelty for me because we don't have it at home so I'll admit I was pretty excited about the food too. It's like they took the best parts of Wendy's, Dairy Queen, and a fast casual restaurant with better menu choices and combined them into one place. Loved the menu variety, the butter burger and fries, and the huge selection of custard - perfect end to the meal. Yum! But, as I said, the real standout here is the staff. Everyone we encountered was really friendly and helpful and actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. I appreciated how they delivered our order to the table, insisted on getting refills of coffee for my aunt and uncle, and even checked on us throughout the meal. Well done! The clientele of this Culver's is on the older side, and they really do a good job taking care of them. I also must give props to the manager. He had a great rapport with the customers and seemed to know many of them by name. He cleared tables, delivered food, and even stopped and chatted with all the customers during my visit. Stop by for some custard, while placing order we felt we got some attitude but just proceeded to overlook, wait for about 8min for 2 medium custard w toppings. Decided to pay attention to see what was The long wait for, I noticed cashier had the blue spoon in her hand and was using it to scratch the top surface of one of the machines and then proceeded to tap the spoon. sure enough she did placed the dirty spoon in my cup of custard. I requested her to make a fresh one and then get yelled at for what I proceeded to explain what I had witnessed and then got yelled " that is not true and there was no need for a new one" I instantly asked for a refund , she slammed shut the window and give attitude, spoke to the store manager in regards to her actions. But overall it blows my mind Why ppl decide to work with people and they're not people friendly don't give me wrong I understand people have off days, but this is excessive & disgusting! I came through the drive thru for some fries and ice cream. I was handed the ice cream and told to "pull up to the right." I watched them serve four other cars by then 10 minutes or so had passed still no fries. So, I went inside the manager was like "omg I didn't know you were waiting" as my order receipt sat directly in her face. She handed me the fries with no apology nor any type of courtesy compensation and I had to ask for the receipt. After reviewing the receipt, I called the restaurant to get the information to do a survey because it wasn't legible. I spoke the manager again and she gave me the information to write a bad review. Well your wish is my command. Culver's you all must hire better managers. Sometimes a simple apology and courtesy to acknowledge the mistake is all a customer looking for. read more

When I eat from Culver's I usually get a bacon double cheeseburger, but for a change I wanted to try their chicken tenders for lunch today and boy did they impress. The tenders were so fresh and hot I couldn't believe how good they were they were cooked perfectly with a delicious crispy crunch. The barbecue sauce for the tenders was really good, the cheese curds and fries were crispy too. I do go to Culver's from time to time and have always found it to be consistent no matter which outlet I visit. The food taste is decent and the portion size is adequate. Today, while visiting the one in Romeoville, it started raining outside. I noticed several of the employees went outside with umbrellas to assist several elderly patrons either going in or out of the restaurant to their cars. I was VERY impressed. Nice job Culver's. The difference between this location and the other Culver's outlets is their owner. He is hands on, visible and no task is beneath him, he takes food out to cars, takes orders at the counters, gets orders ready out of the kitchen and when its slow he goes around to each table and talks with patrons. He even gives discounts to those loyal customers (like my wife & I), who eat there a lot. This is textbook Culvers, too bad the other locations don't follow in their footsteps. read more

This is my favorite Culvers. They are a family owned business and besides the "out of this world custard/ice cream", they have great burgers, chicken that is fried when ordered and when they have the walleye in (yes, I said walleye), you have to try it. Out of this world.. They base their menu on their great hamburgers (which they are), but they have so many different items to choose from to eat. This Culvers really strives to please the customers. Every day they have a different flavor of the day and I love almost all of them. If I don't, I will get chocolate or vanilla. The Strawberry Shakes are do die for. Great customer service read more

I've been here about six times. They can never get my basic custard order right. I ask for chocolate custard w/ almonds. They make me a cup of vanilla custard with peanuts and a drip of chocolate sauce. Service is pretty slow! The food is slapped together, and they skimp on toppings despite charging extra for them. The last time I went here, I ordered one scoop of the flavor of the day. I received a kiddie cup that contained half a scoop of custard. The price for that: $1.79. If you want onions, mayo, tomato, and lettuce on your burger, there's a charge added to the bill. Way too expensive and overrated. Excellent service and excellent food. We were helped by Ron the owner who was very helpful and kind. He was welcoming and fast. He provided my family with exceptional service and food that was prepared fresh and hot! Everything was clean and organized and stocked. They ran out of my favorite rocky road so Ron bought me a similar flavor to accommodate for the incoming inconvenience. As a customer I really felt valued and appreciated.
