It was a SPECIAL dine-in experience for Valentine's Day. Made reservations via OpenTable. Dining room was closed to the public. The staff were festive and welcomed us with HUGE smiles! We were seated and given the menu to peruse. The food was served FRESH and because of the holiday, they did table side service. Long live the sliders! This is where you go when you have guests from out-of-town with cravings for White Castle. We are spoiled with an abundance of locations in the metropolitan Detroit area. This Southfield location did not disappoint. My guests were tickled that the receipt had the four digit code (8888) to the restroom printed on the bottom. The cashier let us know the code changes everyday! My guests truly enjoyed their sliders with cheese of course and the Crave Clutch Case of 20 White Castles made sure they had plenty to take on their drive home up north. We also ordered their fish nibblers and fries which are my favorite. This location is located on the corner of 9 Mile Rd & Telegraph Rd. They were recently remodeled and the drive thru staff actually come out to your car. The restaurant dining area has tables, benches and high top seating. So I used to live over in this area so I had been to this White Castle many times. It's gone through a lot of changes from being White Castle to being White Castle in churches and now I guess is White Castle LOL but it's still a staple on telegraph. White castles usually the first spot I hit up when I come back into town. I was passing it so I stopped in. I tried to stand at the register and it took 2 or 3 minutes for somebody to acknowledge me which really wasn't the best feeling considering the fact that there are like eight people back there, but I don't know, maybe it was a busy rush. I just didn't see it. I got a couple of sliders and a couple of breakfast sandwiches and then went about my way. I don't have any issue with the food. I know people have a lot of things to say about it but to me the food is fine. Because they're open so late. It's gotten me through many nights where I need to soak up some alcohol LOL. But the breakfast sandwiches to me. Our fire though. They crack the eggs right there, which I can appreciate. They come all cheesed up, can't nobody tell me they breakfast sliders are it LOL. Anyway, it's pretty basic, you get what you get. Service wasn't really great, the food was okay. I ordered some clams and they came pretty overcooked, but not the end of the world. But where I live at now I don't have White Castle so I got to try all the things lol. read more

Ate here twice while staying in the area, once in the afternoon and once at 3am. Basically had the same results each time. Sliders were good, chicken rings were tasty. Fries were cold and not crisp, both times. The biggest problem is the amount of time it takes to get food here. I was in the drive thru for 15+ minutes each time. This particular store does not value their customers nor their business. A friend of mine ordered 30 Chicken sandwiches with Cheddar Cheese for $77+ dollars. My friend had only received 22 sandwiches in the case. I called up to the store yesterday to be told by the shift manager to call back today. I called back and the manager on duty first told me that an investigation had to be done. Are you freaking kidding me, an investigation. After I had expressed how ridiculous that sounded, he said he had to call the manager that worked that night. Keep in mind, I told him that we were not seeking a cash refund. All we wanted was a store credit for the 8 sandwiches. He told me that he still needed to call that manager. He took my number, called the manager and then called me back. He informed me that the manager on duty that night said he did receive 30 sandwiches. She out right lied. First of all, white castles doesn't use the highest quality meat to begin with, therefore generally speaking I only get the french fries. Usually, you can at least count on the french fries. Well, not today. Under cooked. Crunchy. Not seasoned. Absolutely disgusting. In that photo I took, the box is crumpled up because I threw that crap in the trash where it belongs. I was not expecting much based on the reviews, but a lot of things were closed for the holiday. That being said our food was 100% correct (despite being for multiple people, a complicated and hefty order, and using coupons). Our food was hot and exactly what we wanted. It took a while to order and get the food, but we didn't have a single item missing or be made incorrectly. Or be cold and soggy so worth it. I don't know why we lucked out or if the manager was the one working but it was an enjoyable experience for carry out. read more

This is probably one of the worst restaurants in that area because nobody answers the phone when I filled out the job application online and I call back to set up an interview. I'm sure that they aren't that busy to pick up the phone but when they do it's they usually say "call back later" or "manager is not here right now" and to be honest I don't even want to waste my time trying to work here anymore. What the HELL was the purpose for ordering online. Spoke to the manager. She said that because I was late picking up my order they gave away my food. Bull. I love White Castles. I have been eating "Belly Bombs" since I was a kid. But today I decided to try one of the new cheese offerings at this location, and to my surprise, they did something wrong and overcharged me. So I asked the manager why I was overcharged and she blamed White Castle. I contacted White Castle and they blamed the location manager. I asked to speak with a supervisor and when I did finally speak with one, she told me she would pass my complaint on to "management" for review. Are they kidding? So now this location has my ill-gotten money and I am waiting for a decision from the Pope. This is a terrible location,and although I love White Castles, I won't go back. read more

I'll be honest and admit that once a year I get a craving for White Castle. Since my digestive system no longer can handle these little tigers I pass but when I did have them I would have plenty of them. Often resulting in what is known as the bubble guts. I don't know if its this particular location or if every WC is just slow. But I swear, every time you go, no matter the time of the day or location, you wait and wait and wait. For crying out loud. It shouldn't take this long for a burger half the size. Any who, if I do stop if it's usually for a slushy and fries. Usually the slush. I loved this place when I was younger, always fit the budget.
