I have been staying at Hyatt hotels for many years, and have always had a good experience there…read more The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is a favorite for my husband and me. It's convenient to BART, and the hotel has always been accommodating when we arrive early and drop off our bags. They have even given us an early check-in if a room is ready. The rooms are very clean and well equipped with bath products. Because I am a Hyatt member, the hotel gave us a late checkout, which gave us time to go have breakfast at the Ferry Building. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Dear Hotel Management,…read more I am writing to share a deeply disappointing experience during my recent stay at your property--an experience that unfortunately ruined what had otherwise been a wonderful visit. While coming down to the lobby to pick up food delivery and bottled water for my family, I stopped by the front desk to resolve an issue with one of our room keys. The desk agent asked for identification. Because I had come straight from my room, I did not have my physical ID or my own phone with me; I was holding my wife's phone, which she had handed to me so I could coordinate with the food delivery driver. Rather than handling the situation with discretion or professional hospitality, the agent immediately confiscated both key cards, began questioning me, and instructed me to step aside to wait for security to escort me back to my room. While I understand that hotel security and guest verification are important, the execution of this protocol was handled poorly and lacked basic discretion: *Lack of Discretion in Public Areas: Being publicly escorted to the elevators by a security guard wearing an earpiece while a crowd of twelve other guests stared was deeply embarrassing. Fortunately, the security officer, George, recognized the awkwardness of the situation and commendably used the private staff elevator to bring me up discreetly--a measure that should have been standard practice from the start. *Overlooking Simpler Verification Methods: The hotel has extensive security camera coverage and records of my booking, which explicitly noted that I was staying with another adult and a child. Furthermore, staff could easily have dispatched security to quietly knock on our room door to confirm my identity with my wife in person, avoiding a public escalation altogether. When you work in hospitality, maintaining a high standard of service and respect from top to bottom is essential. Treating a registered guest like a trespasser over a missing ID--without utilizing common-sense verification methods--falls far short of the standards I expect from Hyatt. I hope you will use this incident as a training opportunity for your front desk staff on how to handle security protocols with greater professionalism, discretion, and respect for guest dignity. Sincerely, A Disappointed Guest

FOOD: 3 SERVICE: 4…read moreAMBIANCE: 4 VALUE: 4 Since we had several events in the SF, we decided to spend an extended weekend there. Of all the hotels we've stayed in before, we wanted to try something close to Union Square at a reasonable price. We have also been staying at different Marriott hotels, so, we wanted to give this location a try. We checked in a little early, but they had a room ready. We didn't get a status upgrade, but they did put us up on a high floor. Our room was on the 26th floor with a westerly view up Powell street towards the Coit Tower. We stayed in a King room and it was comfortable with enough storage (closet and drawers), bedside night stands with drawer and outlets. The bathroom had a full size shower, single vanity with additional shelf and an elongated toilet; functional but on the small side. During our stay, we requested additional room supplies twice and they were delivered promptly. Our stay also included continental breakfast each morning which consisted of pastries/bread, cereals, juices and teas/coffees. You can upgrade to a full buffet breakfast with make to order omelet for $10 each person. Service at the buffet restaurant was very good. The hotel also charges a resort fee each night, but you can get $30 food/beverage credit, 2 cable car tickets and 1 hr of electric bike rental back each day. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

Possibly the friendliest staff at any hotel I've ever been to?…read more Stayed here 6 nights. Service was outstanding. The front desk went above and beyond with my requests. The bartenders had great recommendations for me and were super nice. The club lounge attendants were amazing. Loved the people that worked here. Great location, food at the restaurant was pretty good, amazing and clean room. Only negative is the small bathroom. But the service and views more than make up for it. Will be back!

Hotel Review - Parc 55 by Hilton, San Francisco…read more Room: king suite w/city view - 25th floor Stay: 9/24/2024-9/28/2024 Guests: Couple (2) Cost: $1,680.00 USD Score: 8.0/10.0 I actually loved this hotel. It's not a boutique hotel by any means. It's a Hilton property, after all. But the hotel is massive and thus very aesthetically pleasing, requiring two escalators to get to the central elevator bank for the rooms after check in. The Parc 55 is centrally located downtown yet easily identifiable for those unfamiliar with the area. The hotel is less than two blocks from Union Square and less than a block from San Francisco Center mall. There is a very professional valet team worth every penny plus a good tip. The central valet desk is downstairs on the ground level beneath the check-in/registration desk on the second floor, separate from the bell desk, and the reception desk. The Cable55 restaurant is quite good and offers a buffet for lunch and dinner. The view was amazing and worth every penny. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. Having stayed at numerous Hilton properties over the years, Hilton has gained a loyal customer. I only give negative points for the location of the pool, having to go off hotel property to access it.

Room was clean and had a tv, refrigerator and a coffee maker. Bathroom had your usual amenities. The closet was separate from the rest of the room and had its own sitting area. The bed was comfy but what I liked most were the pillows. It was not fluffy soft which I hate. It was slightly firm and does not have that airy feel. So when I woke up the next morning, I did not have a stiff neck lol! The only bad thing was the price of the valet. $80/day. If you choose to go that route, then go for it. I'm not surprised of the price considering it's SF. I would rather park at a nearby parking garage. Overall, my experience here was positive. I would stay here again.

I placed an order for ~ 10 boxes and was perfectly ready to spend $50-120 a month to store my stuff. This took place on Monday, September 28 and I scheduled the box drop off for Saturday, October 3 from 10 AM - 12 PM. I received a voicemail yesterday, Friday October 2 at 3:41 PM indicating that my order was going to be cancelled because I had not responded to an email (which was sitting in my spam folder). The voicemail was unintelligible and I only found this out when I called Vince and he explained what he meant. First of all, why would you cancel an order without consulting me first? If you can't deliver the item, that's not my fault nor my responsibility. We discussed the situation and then he had the gall to tell me you have a four month minimum - which is contrary to what you have on the website. I agreed to it because I don't plan on taking it out any time soon, but he continued to see if he could adjust the delivery time. I told him I picked that time block out because that's when I have available. My job is not to turn my schedule around for a service provider - I'm the customer, and the time block was available online. It's now 12:09 PM on Saturday, October 3 and no one has contacted me nor shown up. I needed an alternative to Boxbee because they're not taking boxes anymore and I'm sorry to say you've likely cost yourself $100 a month for the foreseeable future. I probably would have left them in there for the next couple years actually. I invite a dialogue or response if you feel so inclined." I got a voicemail later that day but what's the point if you're not going to respect my time, money, or effort on the very first moment we're supposed to do business? Shame on you, CityStash.

Pros: + The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. + Once you get on the island and go through the 5 minute orientation from the NPS ranger, you're free to roam about. + The audio-guided tour is actually REALLY good. It was my first time and I thought it would be cheesy but it was engrossing and informative. + Restrooms were very clean and not crowded (at least not the guy's restroom). + There are some truly AMAZING views of the bay. Bring a travel-safe camera. Neutral: ~ There's restrictions on food and drink (only bottled water is allowed in the majority of the park). So plan ahead. ~ San Francisco traffic is real and kinda sucks. Plan ahead for delays. ~ A good portion of the park is outdoors (which isn't a negative but means that it's impacted by the weather). It gets super windy so plan ahead and dress appropriately. Cons: - The price is indeed a little high. I don't think I'd go here all the time. Once every couple years is probably fine. - A friend told me that there's a LOT of bird poop around and they were right. It's not enough to impact walking but does detract from the experience slightly.

Poor Service Experience with Alcatraz City Cruises…read more I'm writing this review to share my experience with the company's customer service, specifically around their cancellation policy. We were excited to book a trip through Alcatraz City Cruises on 6/16/26. Unfortunately, a family emergency forced me to cancel our trip to San Francisco, including this tour. I cancelled through the confirmation link in my email on 6/19 -- well within the 72-hour window required for a full refund, since the event itself wasn't until 6/26. The website showed my reservation as cancelled, so I stepped away to deal with the family emergency. In my rush, I never went back to check for a separate cancellation confirmation email, since the site had already shown the cancellation as complete. That was my mistake -- but it led to a frustrating outcome: I was charged for the tickets on the day of the event anyway. I didn't catch the charge until I reviewed my bank statement at the start of the following month. I called four times and couldn't reach a live person. When I finally got through to a representative, my request for a refund was denied. I asked again for the decision to be reviewed, but the agent refused, saying they would not look into it further. I understand that not confirming the cancellation via email was an oversight on my part. But the website clearly showed the reservation as cancelled, and we never used the tickets. Given that the cancellation was initiated well within the refund window, I would have expected more flexibility from customer service -- not an automatic denial. Dissapointed in this company and would not book through them again. Unfortantely, they did come up as one of the recommended companies to book through due to other scams and fake sites, but beware

The location is convenient, access is easy during open hours, and I always felt safe with the security measures in place. However, there were two notable issues: 1. Lighting: The area where my unit was located had very poor lighting. Despite having a spacious unit, I had to use my phone flashlight every single time I accessed my storage, which was inconvenient and frankly a safety concern. I think installing a single motion-activated lightbulb in the storage room would make a huge difference for customers. 2. Customer Service: This was the most frustrating part of my experience, as I was consistently met with vague answers, impatience, and rudeness. When I specifically asked what happens if I go over my checkout date, instead of explaining the late fee policy, Charles told me "just come back when you're fully done, everyone checks out late anyway" -- no mention of fees. Days later, he suddenly told me there would be a late fee "on the 11th day." I was already a few days over at that point, forcing a last-minute scramble to avoid additional charges. At checkout, when I asked how many days I owed (the bill was hundreds of dollars), he dismissively said "I don't know" with a rude tone. When I requested an email receipt, he refused although the email option was clearly visible on the screen. This was hands-down the most unprofessional customer service I've experienced at any storage facility. Storage and moving out were already very stressful, and customer service should make it easier, not harder. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and emphasizes professionalism, patience, and respect when dealing with customers.
