We had used WM for a second opinion on a noisy a/c issue that we were initially quoted for thousands of dollars by another company. Supposedly, the compressor was going bad and needed replaced. The technician arrived on time, was very professional and courteous, knew what he was doing, and best of all, he was honest. He diagnosed the problem as just some loose screws and the issue was quickly resolved. He said the unit is operating as expected for a 6yr old a/c unit and there was nothing wrong with it. Outstanding Service! I arrived home early in the morning (12:00AM) to discover the heater wasn't functioning properly. In fact, it was blowing cold air and wouldn't stop. I Yelped three different business, including White Mechanical, which was the only company that called me back first thing in the morning (9AM). My heroes!!! SERIOUSLY! A/C broke in record heat temps on a Saturday..reached out and Steve responded within minutes. He let me know they were pretty booked due to the high temps but that he would keep me posted if he would be able to come by same day. He was up front with prices. Amazing experience with White Mechanical replacing our 20 year old ac system. We weren't sure how much work we wanted to do and Steve was awesome giving us a quote with a few options so we were able to take our time and make an informed decision. After having a quote of $700 plus labor to replenish the coolant from another company, I came to yelp and found White Mechanical. Called and Steve offered to come out the same day. We were busy so had him come the next day. He told us in 10 minutes what it took the other guy 3 hours to tell us. It ended up being about 1/3 the price we were quoted from the other company. We are a tenant at one of the business parks White Mechanical provides quarterly maintenance service for on our AC units under contract with the landlord. We have 2 AC units for our location which have always worked fine until these guys show up. In the past 2 years we have had 3 separate instances (now 4) where our AC units stopped working on the exact same day White Mechanical provided "routine maintenance" on them. The landlord I assume pays them for these quarterly visits, but as the tenant we are responsible for any repairs or work needed on them. Not once during their service visits have they stepped inside our building to check to ensure it is working properly after completing their "routine maintenance service", nor provided a work order of the services performed, or recommended services/repairs to be performed if something was found to be wrong. They just leave and then presumably wait for us to call to say there is a problem with our AC, and here's what you have to pay us to fix it. After their most recent visit prior to today (and over $1500 in fees to repair AC units which were working fine before they touched them), we advised our landlord we do not want this company touching our AC units without our permission first. They agreed to our request and said they would update our account for future maintenance visits. Today, without our consent or notification, White Mechanical AGAIN touched and messed up our AC unit. We are now left without AC, any notification of potential issues, nor confirmation by their tech that everything was working fine inside our building. I don't usually write negative reviews but after the 4th time I feel this is not a coincidence and they should be exposed for their shady business practices. They may provide decent homeowner services, but when given a commercial contract situation where tenants have no choice and have to pay for AC repairs, beware, they will definitely take advantage of the situation. read more

White Mechanical installed New Lennox Furnace, Air-conditioner, Added a few vents for extra heating and cooling balance. They did an awesome job. Very Prompt. And completed the installation in the expected time frame agreed. They quoted us the same as standard replacement. And then some higher performing systems. We are very happy, and Impressed. The condensor unit outside is so quiet you can have a normal conversation while standing right there. It is the variable type. Most of the time the cooling is idling. The inside, Wow. The old original unit you could hear the exhaust fan start, the burner, then the blast of air. THe new unit,, Never hear it. The air flow for the heating & cooling is very effective, and gental. I am so lucky I found White Mechanical! Our air conditioner went out during a hot period and I called several companies to get service. Most gave me a time frame of a three days up to a week. My daughter was starting online school so we were all in the house during the day and the heat was excruciating so we needed help fast. I called White Mechanical and they got someone to come out that evening. I called on short notice Friday afternoon for a Saturday appointment to have the A/C repaired at my Uncle's condo in Laguna Woods and they were able to squeeze me in. A previous repair company that had been contracted spent 3-days trying to fix this unit, replaced the thermostat, then finally said I needed a completely new system for $7K. The tech (Wade) from WM came out, evaluated the system and had to completely re-wire the mess the previous tech made. He had it running and blowing cold air again in a few hours! He also found a couple of broken ducts in the attic which was causing a major loss of cold air blowing into the attic and repaired those as well. We could not be happier with the service provided! A friend (Dennis Kelly) recommended White Mechanical for an intermittent furnace/compressor issue. Compressor was occasionally tripping the breaker - or the breaker was defective and tripping). Repairman (Kirk) was very personable (wore a mask) and it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. Intermittent problems are gnarly and he felt it might be a problem with my old breakers as everything else checked out. I am getting an electrician for another matter in a couple of weeks so I will have those breakers replaced. I spoke to them on the phone and they agreed on a price for changing a board on my heater and when they fixed it they charged me for the diagnostic fee on the top of the charge that we agreed on .when I spoke to the technician I asked him several times if that is the final price but I guess that is a new trick to make more money. when I called to explain to them what we agreed on they were very rude and the technician threatened me that we can come and take the part off. Our thermostat for heat and/or air conditioning went blank on the Friday of July 4th weekend. It turned out to be a long and very hot weekend. Left a message on telephone answering machine Friday afternoon. The call was returned Monday morning. Much to my surprise a technician was scheduled for the same day between 4 and 6 PM Robert May (the tech) arrived closer to 3 PM. He went to work tracing electrical lines from the fuse box to the central a/c unit checking for continuity. He found a burnt out fuse, replaced it, turned on the fan and blew the new fuse. A lot more checking took him out to the compressor, which is where the actual problem was. Robert remedied the cause, replaced the fuse and voila we had a/c.
