Gabriel was absolutely amazing. Yesterday I was sweltering with a malfunctioning ac blowing hot air around. A personal hand fan would have had more cooling effect. But today, within just a few minutes of arriving at my home, Gabriel had diagnosed the problem and got to work, and soon we had glorious ice cold ac, reminiscent of walking through the Target or Costco freezer section. Wow, I can't believe what this company tried to do. I am deeply insulted by how White Mechanical does their business. I called them for a swamp cooler leak at our restaurant. Mind you that this is AFTER we already had another company look at the swamp cooler and they advised us that we needed new padding. Their quote was $110 (for parts) + labor ($85/hr) + trip fee ($55). They couldn't schedule us that week so I called White Mechanical to see if they can come out sooner. When I called White Mechanical for the first time, a lady answered and I explained to her the situation. I clearly told her that we needed new padding. She said that she would send someone out that week. Then she asked me for credit card information and I asked her why. She said "just in case". Just in case what? They haven't even come in to service yet. No company has EVER asked me for credit card BEFORE coming to do the job. When I told her this, she was clearly irritated and said "No, this is very common." I told her that I wasn't comfortable with giving out my credit card when I'm simply scheduling for the first service. I said I will pay with a check when the job is done. She sounded very irritated again with an obvious change in her voice tone, but agreed in the end. The scheduled appointment day came. They were scheduled to come in for 2:30pm. I waited until 4:30pm and nobody showed up. Not a single phone call. I called White Mechanical and they told me that the technician will arrive in 20 minutes. She said the tech was running late because of another job. Really? They couldn't call me to inform me that he'd be running 2 hours late?? The tech finally showed up around 5pm. No apologies for being late. Whatever, I just wanted our cooler fixed asap so I didn't make a deal out of it. When the technician finally arrived, he had no padding with him. He took a look at the swamp cooler and noticed a semi-clogged pipe where the water drips down into the pan. The water coming out from the pipe was dripping a bit to the side into the fan, due to the padding material partially clogging it. It took him literally 30 seconds to poke his little screwdriver in the hole to somewhat clear it. He recommended that we clean the 2 pipes (which are roughly 3 ft long and an inch in diameter). He also recommended that we replace the padding. DUH! that's what I called them for and clearly explained over the phone. He said he didn't have anything on him so he'd have to come back to do the job. He then proceeded to charge us $99 for "diagnosis fee". At this point, I was a bit upset. I already told them we needed new padding, I didn't need him to charge me $99 to tell me again. I wrote him a check for $99 and asked if this will go towards the actual job. Technician said no and that I should ask White Mechanical if they can apply it towards the repair. He said that he'll give his recommendation of cleaning the 2 pipes and replacing padding to his company and that I would get a new estimate the next day. The e-mail arrived and I was shocked. Estimate was for (cut and pasted from the e-mail they sent): *The unit's pads have failed. Need to replace. *Need to clear all water line *Need to install new water pump. *Need to clean pan. *Run test unit Cost to perform the above work: One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Five Dollars..............$1,995.00 What the..? Cleaning the pan, I can understand. But where did the "need to install new water pump" come from? The technician NEVER mentioned anything about a new water pump. In fact, the technician didn't mention anything regarding any water pumps. The company just added that on thinking I'll pay for it? They didn't give me an itemized estimate either. I'd like to know how much the parts are and how much each of the job costs. They surely did not mention anything about the first $99 "diagnosis fee" going towards the repairs. In this industry, that's how 99.99% of the companies do business. 0.01% being White Mechanical, since I have never run into a single company that just robs you for "diagnosis fee", especially after I even told them that the swamp cooler needs new padding AND was willing to call them back to actually install the padding. I don't know how much they are charging for the water pump but are they saying the cleaning a couple of small pipes and the pan costs over $1000? The other company that we got an estimate from said the padding costs around $110 + labor and $55 trip fee. Let's say it took them 4 hours to install new padding at $85/hr. That's $340 + $110 for padding + $55 trip fee, for a total of $505. I should have known when the lady asked for credit card info on the first call. Being a business owner myself, I really hate to write bad reviews. White Mechanical clearly crossed the line and I will not get ripped off and stay quiet. You know what, you can take my $99, I'll think of it as a donation. Nice try though. You think people are that dumb? What a shady way of doing business. Jesus Christ. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST AND RIP OFF COMPANY ! This is the story : My property Manager help me find them to fix the AC. I have asked about the cost via email and over the phone thought my property manager , she said not until they come and diagnose it The next day someone from White Mechanical came into my office and said he need to go up the roof. Then he left for a while and came back in saying he won't be able to do the repair at the moment since he need the parts. when I asked him how much? he said : "I will send you the bill later " After he went back , they send me the proposal for fixing the AC close to $700 . The parts need to be replaced includes Motor , Fan Blades,etc I'm totally shocked by their proposal. Luckily I found REDLINE Mechanical for a better pricing. BASED on White Mechanical proposal it will cost $150 less. AND GUESS WHAT.? Yesterday , when REDLINE came for the repair, the fan blade IS NOT BROKEN, the replacement motor was only $26, and NO OTHER MAJOR ISSUE was found , NOTHING like what this White Mechanical proposal say ! It was fixed with ONLY $120 for everything plus 1 year warranty included ! NOW that the service is done, Let's talk about the BILL from White Mechanical. I received a bill from them for $294. They Claim a 3 hours Job for $84/per hour +trip time etc. First of all , I SERIOUSLY don't think they had been working for 3 hours ! Secondly , all along they refused to state the price. Not even when I ask before they started on the diagnosis nor when he was leaving. They just say "I'll send you the bill later" Third, I was NEVER told they charge by the hour and not by the job. If I knew , I would have checked the time when he came in and the time when he left . And the most interesting thing is. the guy didn't show me any paper to sign for their time and work. read more

I has mentioned that in earlier rating, but only today realized he left all wires inside the condenser dangling etc. if you don't refund my money I am going to report to better business bureau amongst other remedies! This review is not for their service, as I cannot attest to that, but I called in to get an estimate for AC Maintenance for my business and they were charging $99 to come and give an estimate. Are they kidding?? We are literally down the street from them, so not sure how this $99 comes into play. I even questioned the charge because I've never heard of a company charging to give an estimate, especially for a Service Contract that would bring in recurring revenue and the receptionist said yes because a tech would be coming out. Well....to begin, I hate dealing with home repair issues. But I definitely wanted to perform some preventative maintenance on my current AC unit at home. My girlfriend found White Mechanical and used them in the past so they came highly recommended. So, I called and had Gabriel come out to perform the preventative maintenance. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. What an amazing experience. Gabriel took the time to explain things and answered all my questions. He was so patient and even took so long to help me that his dispatcher called him to tell him to hurry up. Even then, Gabriel was very professional and took his time to make sure I understood everything about my AC and the issue which apparently needed an attention later. I'm sure there were some dumb questions coming from someone who doesn't know a thing about ACs, but Gabriel was patient and understanding. So we have owned our house for seven years now and have had trouble with our air conditioner the entire time. It has never cooled the house enough and we will run it all day and it will still be 85 degrees upstairs. We had someone (from a different company) come out a couple times to add coolant and service it but they told us we needed to bite the bullet and replace the unit. This never made sense since the unit is ten years old...tops! Finally we decided this summer after wasting so much energy to replace the unit. I figured we were probably paying more in electricity to run the thing than it would be to but a new one. We have bought a lot of things through Costco such as carpeting three homes and our cars so we figured we would use whoever they have a contract with. I called and they had someone from White Mechanical call me back. I told the girl about our unit and that we thought we needed to replace it. She was willing to send someone out to help us with the purchase but through the conversation she suggested we have them check our old unit before buying a new one because it may not have been necessary. It would cost us $89 but may be worth it. At this point, we have been dying of heat for seven summers so what's another couple days right? They were great about getting someone out in a day or two so Damian came out to assess the unit. I explained that we were pretty sure we needed a new unit but felt we ought to have White Mechanical check it out first since they had never been there to work on it. Damian trouble shot the thing for a little bit and found something that could be causing part of the problem but he didn't give up at that point and call it a victory to get out of there to go home. The guy knew that the issue he found couldn't be the only issue and there was something in his equipment that was showing the unit was unsteady as far as being able sustain what it should be able to do. He kept working on it to figure out what was wrong. The whole time he kept coming in to give us updates so we knew what he was doing and wasn't just running up the clock. After far more of an assessment than I ever would have thought we would have had, Daniel found three different things wrong with our unit. One of which made our unit run really badly and definitely was going to shorten it's life. I'll save you the details but during the months we used it we would have to run it for 20 hours straight...it would never shut off at all because it couldn't cool the house down. Daniel let us know what his final assessment was and we discussed the options. He was upfront and honest about the fact we could either replace the part and try to get a few more years out of the current unit or buy a new unit altogether. We talked it though and decided it seemed like a good gamble to replace the part even though it was a little pricy yet definitely in line with what it should cost. He was completely clear though that it may not save the unit and cool the whole house down since we had never been able to determine if the unit was even viable. It still seemed like a good option so we scheduled for Daniel to come back out and replace the part. A week later another hot spell came and we were like "here we go!" waiting to see if it would work. Since Daniel had fixed it it ran fine when it was cool outside but we hadn't really fully tested the unit yet. We turned it on and it not only worked, it cooled the whole house in 104 degree heat!!!!!! This is literally the first time since we bought our house seven years ago that our AC worked right. It cycled on and off the way it was supposed to and only ran maybe 10% of the time of what it did before it was fixed. One thing is for sure, when this AC finally dies White Mechanical is going to be who we call to get a new one...no joke! It's always hard when you have to fully trust someone to fix something you don't have a lot of knowledge about so this was an amazing experience for us! read more

Great service! It's the hottest (therefore busiest for them) time of year and not only did a live person answer the phone but they were also able to get someone out to my home the following day. Other places I called didn't even call back. Damien, our technician, was super friendly and thorough. He diagnosed our AC problem right away and, best of all, it was an easy fix. Our AC is 20 years old so he could have easily said "Well, it's time for a new unit" and I would of probably believed him. I had another A/C company come out to diagnose my unit and they kept pressuring me to replace, saying it wasn't repairable. I didn't think that sounded right, nor did I have thousands to spend on a new unit, so I called White Mechanical after being referred to them by a co-worker. I spoke to Rachel and she was very friendly and set up the appointment around a schedule that worked for me. The tech arrived on time and called to let me know he was on his way. Turns out it was just a bad fan motor (not cheap, but not thousand)! Rachel provided me w/ a detailed proposal and the replacement was done on the spot. This company was excellent. I originally had a company called Marina Air - dont use them!! tell me there was nothing wrong with my AC when I was getting practically no air in my upstairs bedroom. The technician, Damien, from White Mechanical examined my attic and found leaks in the duct work and another duct that was blowing air into the wall, which he fixed. He took the time to explain how everything worked from the furnace to the unit and was very detailed and really seemed to enjoy his work. There pricing is very good as well. Well, well, well - You can all see that I have written a review for White mechanical before. They are my go to provider, but I am compelled to write again. Why? because it just keeps getting better. This time, I needed a tune up on the A/C for my primary residence. What did I do? I called White Mechanical - Heather (a total sweetheart) answered the phone and recognized my voice :-) told her what I needed and she got me scheduled up - SAME DAY SERVICE BABY!!!!!! Later that day my GSP Scout starts barking like cujo in a bad mood, runs out the gate and straight for my service guy - Poor guy - He should've pooped his pants. :-) It was Kevin from White Mechanical - Scout gave him a sniff and Kevin gave Scout a few pets and they were friends. They ran off to the AC unit on the side of the house. After about an hour Scout and Kevin returned from the side of the house, Scout with a lost toy that Kevin found wedged back by the unit.
