This is a fun coffeeshop in Cedar Hill. My bf and I were in the area having dinner and stopped by afterwards to get some work done before going back home. They have a cool drive in area for patrons who don't want to leave their car, which is a great option to have. The interior is inviting and homey - they have comfy couches as well as wooden tables with lots of plugs. As soon as I walked up to order, I saw their bold list of specialty drinks (like.. Hug in a Cup) - their Texas Hot Chocolate caught my eye. It was supposed to have hints of blueberry and hazelnut, which was unique and interesting. Unfortunately, I did not taste either of those flavors - perhaps the person who prepared it didn't know it was supposed to contain those flavors or didn't know I ordered this particular hot chocolate. It wasn't severely disappointing because the hot chocolate itself was very rich and quite delicious, but the reason I got it was to try out those flavors. The music was pretty good, somewhat mellow and at a good volume for reading or listening to lectures. They really liked Cold War Kids that night! There were quite a few regulars there, which shows how strong of a customer base they have. It also showed how comfortable they were with the staff and how it served as more of a hangout spot for them - there was a lot of in-and-out traffic from people hanging outside and coming in to talk. We almost got pegged with a flying pen because we happened to be sitting in the line of fire between the barista and her friend. It wasn't a big deal, but if I was doing work that required a lot of concentration, I probably would have gone elsewhere. This place was great! My latte was extremely tasty. I have a sweet tooth and apparently the first drink on their signature drink menu was a favorite, so I got the large (some funny name) with an extra shot (3). Great recommendation by the barista! Also, I ate a panini as well and that was very delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone for food and drinks alone. However, just before I left they were helping an animal shelter set-up out front so people could adopt pets. So now they are taking an extra step by giving back to the community through jobs at the coffee shop AND hosting non-profit businesses, which encourages the community to give back as well. This was a phenomenal example for all businesses to rid themselves of narcissism and help our society to work for the benefit of one another instead of thinking about how wealthy "I" can be. I've been here before cause the Snickerdoodle coffee is by far better than anything I've ever gotten at Starbucks, but they are always out of something and my visit 8/22/2022 was the worst ever... I ordered ahead, which means it was already PAID for and receipt said it would be ready at 8:37am, I pulled in the parking lot at 8:38am and called to let them know I was there and the girl said "we'll get that started" should have been my first clue, when she came out she told me they were out of the BLUEBERRY scone I had ordered for my hubby (blueberry anything is his favorite) she said they could substitute with a chocolate CHERRY scone (my hubby hates cherry anything) so I said "no" and she said they would credit that, THEN a few minutes later she came back to ask if I still wanted my cinnamon roll since they were out of the white icing that goes on top... Warm and Cozy cafe with outdoor seating. Excellent place to meet with friends and family or even some study time. Has everything and more that a complete coffee house is made of. Couch and Table seating provide a comfort environment for everyone. Two Internet ready iMac workstations, Xbox 360 console and free WiFi provide entertainment for any age. The nice thing about this cafe is the Art on the walls donated by the local community. I was in amazed with the cafe as soon as I walked in. It is exactly what this community needs a warm and cozy place to enjoy a good cup o' Joe. Service was fine...but arriving into the parking lot, the nearest parking spaces were handicapped (what I needed for my nephew) and the to-go orders only. The handicap spaces were being occupied by the company truck/van and even the the space next to it had a box in it. Convenient for them, but inconsiderate to those in need of it. Now the parking lot isnt that large, but shorter distances for my nephew to get around is always more accommodating. Please do better White Rhino. read more

This coffee shop is the cutest and coziest I've been to that isn't Asian. The coffee is always great. My personal favorite is the Snickerdoodle and my bfs is the Hug in a Cup. The only thing I'd complain about is the size of the drinks, they're a bit on the smaller side. TL;DR: Good coffee from Tweed Coffee Roasters (pour overs, espresso, lattes etc. All are very good), severe lack of seating space and space in general. Look up the peak hours on Google and avoid this place like the plague at those times. This place has really improved over time. From what used to be a below average third wave coffee shop that I would only order lattes from (their French press coffee and espresso was pretty bad) has transformed into exactly what you would expect from a modern day specialty coffee establishment. A remodel of their kitchen area has allowed for a brand new espresso machine, top of the line automated pour over machines, and a display case for their excellent selection of pies and pastries. In my opinion, this change has greatly improved upon the shops coffee producing capabilities. I can now confidently recommend ordering a pour over or a shot of espresso from White Rhino, something that I previously never would have even considered. Although the shop has improved, it is not without its flaws. There are several minor things that will bother people that are deep into the coffee world. Being served a pour over in a paper to-go cup is one of those things that I experienced, but for most people this won't matter. The biggest issues with this shop are: - A lack of seating space. - A cramped interior This is something that needs to be addressed by the owner. This is the only specialty coffee shop within miles, so it does get quite busy at time. When this place is busy it is a nightmare-like experience. There have been times where I simply could not get to the cash register to order because of the sea of people waiting on their drinks. And you can forget sitting down. Hands down, one of my favorite coffee shops in the D-F-dub. (The only other being White Rock coffee; similar names but different places.) The hubs, couple friends, and I set off to hike around Cedar Hill state park today. After enjoying the scenic area, we were definitely in need of some sugary, caffeinated, cold treats. I knew of this place from way-back-when in nursing school, when we crammed over Cardiac stuff over java and red velvet cake. This time around, I went with the German chocolate blended drink (substituting coconut for white mocha) and split Tuxedo cake. One word: YUM! I may or may not be still on a sugary/caffeine high, but trust me- you've gotta give this place a shot. Its truly a gem, one of a kind, and blows Starbucks out of the water.... er, coffee. I've only been here a few times in the past two years, but have always been pleased with coffee and service. I love sitting on the patio, as it is a ways from the street and feels like you are sitting on someone's home porch. I stopped by yesterday to have a cup of coffee and do some computer work. I brought my two boys and they sat with me on the patio for a couple hours. We were going to stop at starbucks, but they are closed for renovations. Then I remembered wrc was right down the road. I am back this morning to work on a defensive driving course because I have no wifi at my home. I purchased the coffee press pot, and it is delish. Plus its a really good value for the money(only $4 for a full pot)! I am drinking the Texas Blend... a lighter roast with great cinnamon flavor. The shop is quiet in the morning and you can relax in a nice setting. Two thumbs up WR. I will be back much more often! The only thing I would suggest is some light warm savory breakfast options. I am not a fan of sweet morning breads, so something like a breakfast sandwich would be nice. :) read more
